Week with MacBook Pro 16'! I LOVE IT!

The Floor is Lava: A Fun and Nerve-Wracking Experience

I was excited to try out Apple Arcade, a new gaming platform that offers a variety of fun and challenging games. One game in particular caught my eye - The Floor is Lava. It's a simple concept - just jump from one trampoline to another without touching the "lava" below. Sounds easy enough, but trust me, it's not as simple as it sounds. I was eager to give it a try and see if I could become an eSports champion.

As soon as I started playing The Floor is Lava, I realized that this game was all about timing and spatial awareness. I had to jump at the correct moment on each trampoline to make my way across the screen without falling into the "lava". It was a thrilling experience, but also nerve-wracking - one wrong move could mean disaster! To make matters worse, the floor was hot, so I had to be careful not to get too close. I started to feel like I was in a real-life obstacle course, where every jump and landing counted.

As I continued to play, I started to get more confident and my jumps became more precise. But just when I thought I was getting the hang of it, disaster struck - I died! It was a hard lesson to learn, but one that taught me to be patient and keep practicing. With every attempt, I felt myself improving, and before long, I was jumping from trampoline to trampoline with ease.

The Floor is Lava is an excellent example of how games can be both fun and challenging at the same time. It's a great way to improve your spatial awareness and reaction time, all while having a blast playing a game that's hard not to love. And let me tell you, it's addictive - I found myself jumping up and down in my seat (literally!) as I tried to beat my high score.

Another aspect of The Floor is Lava that I appreciated was the accessibility of the game. It can be played on an iPad or iPhone using the accelerometer, making it a great option for those who want to play games on-the-go. This also allowed me to try out different techniques and strategies, which added an extra layer of fun to the gameplay.

I have to admit that I was initially excited to share my gaming experience with you all, but as I started playing The Floor is Lava, I realized that this game had a way of getting under my skin. It's not just about jumping from trampoline to trampoline; it's about mastering the art of timing and spatial awareness. And once you get into it, it's hard to stop!

One aspect of gaming that I've always appreciated is how much potential there is for creativity and self-expression. With The Floor is Lava, I felt like I was able to tap into my inner "gamer" and let loose on the screen. It was exhilarating, but also a little scary at times - not knowing what would happen next or whether I'd be able to make it across.

The experience of playing The Floor is Lava has been so enjoyable that I've started to think about how I can incorporate elements of this game into my daily life. For example, I've taken to using gym mats in my own home gym as a way to improve my jumping skills and reaction time. It's amazing how something as simple as a trampoline can be used for exercise, but it also got me thinking about other ways to challenge myself and have fun.

I'm thrilled to share that I've discovered another game on Apple Arcade - Justine Reacts. In this game, I get to play with an old MacBook Pro that was my first computer back in the day. It's a blast from the past, and it brought back so many memories of when I first started building my career as a YouTuber.

Building my career as a YouTuber has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From creating content around my interests to connecting with amazing fans like you all, I've learned that success is not just about the destination but also about the journey. And it's games like The Floor is Lava that have taught me so much about perseverance, patience, and practice.

Justine Reacts was a great opportunity for me to reflect on my journey as a YouTuber and how far I've come. From using an old iSight camera to building my career around this platform, it's been an incredible ride. And I'm grateful to have such amazing fans like you all who have supported me every step of the way.

As for the new MacBook Pro that I got recently, I was excited to try it out and see how it would hold up against my trusty old laptop. It's a beast of a machine, with a beautiful silver design and top-notch performance. I'm impressed by its capabilities, and I can already tell that this will be an essential tool for my future content creation.

The experience of playing The Floor is Lava has been so much fun that I've started to think about other ways to incorporate games into my daily life. For example, I've taken to using a fitness tracker to monitor my progress and stay motivated. It's amazing how something as simple as a trampoline can be used for exercise, but it also got me thinking about other ways to challenge myself and have fun.

Overall, The Floor is Lava has been an unforgettable experience that taught me the importance of timing, spatial awareness, and practice. It's a great example of how games can bring people together and create a sense of community around shared interests. And for that, I'm grateful!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en(upbeat music)- 16-inch MacBook Pro, here it is.So I've already made a videokind of talking about it a little bit.The unboxing. But now here we are, over a week later, and I wanna say that thishas completely replacedmy iMac because I'm still using it'cause I have projects thatare already saved on it,but for the most partI've almost entirely moved everything overto the MacBook. When I was talking beforeabout my editing processand my workflow, everything pretty muchran through portable hard drives, and that is because Iwould be traveling a lot,so I would be editing on my iMac.I would just take that drive when I leaveand continue editing on my MacBook.Something else that happened this weekwith this MacBook was I tookpart in an editing challenge. It was a Mac verse PC editing challengewith Linus Tech Tips.I'm sure some of you guysare familiar with him,but one of his editors, Taran,he edits on a PC in Adobe Premiereand he has all of these crazy keyboardsand macros and shortcuts. He's an extremely, extremely talented editor,so this was a really fun challenge to do.That was really stressful for mebecause it was one of the first timesthat I felt like I wasreally being pressured. We had four hours to create this video,so during that timeI was definitely pushingthis thing to its limits.Thankfully, this wasonly a one-camera shootwith some extra B rolls soit wasn't too intensive, but a lot of times, videos like this,I'm using all 4K footageshot directly from the A73's,and I'm editing in a multi-camtimeline, just like this. And it's fast.I just can't stress enough, I mean, yeah, this thing now has 64 gigs of RAM,it better be freaking fast. And that, to me, I think isone of the most shocking thingsbecause the price of this computer,I know a lot of people weresaying, it's really expensive.Yes it is, but when you think about it,this completely spec'd outmachine is like $6,100.That is far less thanany of the other machinesthat I've ever spec'd outfor any MacBook, ever.I normally would completely spec them outjust because yes, I'm crazy, and this is what I chooseto spend all of my money on.This computer now is replacingthe 15-inch MacBook Pro.It's basically replacing it in price, too,so I think that that was areally great idea from Apple, not to just add on a 16-inch.They basically have this whole family, and this now is the new Pro machine, and I think it could not be more fitting. One of the things thatI haven't yet tested outbut I'm excited to do so in this videois I'm gonna test out Apple Arcadeusing an Xbox controller,so stay tuned for that.So obviously this is a16-inch retina display, and the display, it's been really great. So where I've really noticed adifference in the screen sizeis when I'm editing,'cause I like to haveall of this stuff open, even though it's probablynot the best way to edit. But I like to have access toeverything when I'm editingand I like to be able to see everything.I'm able to have a larger viewer here,so I'm able to see alsomore of my timeline,so that's already made a huge difference. And then let's talk about the hard drive. The fact that this can go upto eight terabytes is incredible, but to add on to the eight terabytes, that's $2,200 extra dollars, which is quite a lot,but I feel like the factthat this has the optionof an eight terabytestorage is pretty amazingbecause I haven't seenvery many eight terabyteportable storage options.I mean, I guess maybeI haven't been lookingin the $2,000 range, somaybe that's the reason why.The RAM also starts at 16gigs, which is so incredible. That's what my previous MacBookwas able to be maxed out to.Extra $800 for 64 gigs of RAM,uh, worth it.The speakers sound amazing.(peaceful music)I edit without headphones,a lot of the times, and it's incredibly annoyingto everyone else around me,but that's how I edit. It's not great. This is also running Catalina, which gives us access to Sidecar, and I've never used Sidecar until today. And of course everyone thinksthat me being an Apple fan girl,I'm always super hyped about everything.Initially I wasn't really that excited'cause I didn't thinkthat it would be somethingthat I would ever really use, even though in theory itsounds like a great idea, but for whatever reason, I wasn't into it,so I never tried it.And today I tried it and guess what?I'm into it.To get Sidecar to run you have to beon the same wifi networkand have both devicesbe on the same Apple ID.I'm gonna go up here to AirPlay.Within seconds, thisis my mirrored desktop. So when I'm editing Ican use the Apple Pencil, this is my browser, I canuse that to select ranges, put it into a project, and that whole thingjust goes right here into our timeline. You can also set this up to be a viewer,so I can use this to edit, this could be my vieweroff to the side, like this.I'm just glad that Ifinally tried out Sidecarbecause it's pretty great. So let's test out Photoshop here.Right now I have thedisplays being mirrored. It's also got some shortcutkeys here to the sideso you have a nice undothere, which always use undoway too much, especiallywhen I'm in Photoshop.Look at that beautiful work of art.I can use all the menuitems with my Apple Pencil.(relaxed music)Here it is, my work of art.So they say you're gonna getabout an 11-hour battery life, which is about an hour morethan the previous 15-inch,and it's crazy because obviouslythis does have a bigger battery. It has the largestpossible capacity batterythat you can legallycarry onto an airplane.I have noticed that the battery lifehas been significantly increased. Now I will never, ever get11 hours of battery lifebecause I'm always doingthings that requirea lot more processor,so for me to get 11 hours of battery lifeI think I'd probably just haveto be looking at my computer.Even editing that first videothat I did of the review of this,I was on a plane, I wasin Ubers, I was in cars,I was working out of coffee shops,I was working in restaurants. That first video for mewas a perfect scenarioto really test this out.The battery life was great. It got me from basicallyNew York to Nashville.I thought maybe becausethe computer was a little bit biggerthat I would notice adifference when I'm on a plane, but I had no issues at all.The overall size of itis a little bit biggerthan the previous 15-inch.They did a really great jobof decreasing the bezel sizeson the display so thatthey were still ableto keep this as small as possible, and not make it that much largerthan the previous computer. It is 0.3 pounds heavier.I didn't really noticea weight difference.I mean, obviously this isa pretty beefy computer. The 15-inch also isn't exactlythe lightest thing ever. When you have it in abackpack full of other gear,of course I would wishthat it was lighter, but the amount of power,I'm 100% willing tosacrifice that 0.3 pounds.(relaxed music)One of the things thatI wanted to make sureI did in this video, I wanna show you guysa size comparison ofthe 16-inch MacBook Proto the 15-inch MacBook Pro.So you guys can see the slight differencebetween the 15-inch and the 16-inch.There is a size difference.I think a lot of people thoughtthat it was gonna be the same footprintas the 15-inch.This really isn't that much bigger. When you think aboutthe 17-inch MacBook Pro,that was a monster of a machine.I'd always wanted oneof the 17-inch MacBooksbut they were just so hugethat there was no way that I would everbe able to lug that thing around. But this is such a small differencethat if you are used tocarrying this around, carrying the 16-inch is not gonna makemuch of a difference at all. When you're looking atboth of these screensside by side, obviously you can tellthat this one is larger, the bezels are a little bit smaller. There's still a big, black bar up herethat houses your FaceTime camera, iSight,I still call it iSighteven though I don't thinkit's been called that for 10 years. One of these days, I'llbe waiting for a nice 4Kbuilt-in camera, but until then,I really don't use it that oftenso I guess it doesn't matter that much. The cooling on thisMacBook has been amazing.I know I mentioned it already. The new fans, the new cooling mechanic,it's made a really big difference.(fan blowing)Do you hear it?What are you even doing?Oh, you're doing some updates. That's sweet.(relaxed music)Apple TV looks amazing on this thing, and of course if you do buy a Macor an iPhone, you do a geta year free subscription.I definitely recommendwatching The Morning Show. The screen looks great. The keyboard is also somethingthat I haven't talked about yet. It's a new keyboard. It's a scissor mechanic, which kind of goesback to their previousversion of their keyboards, like the 15-inch 2015,then they switched tothe butterfly mechanic, which was the past few versionsof the MacBook that they had.I still love the butterfly keyboard.I had no problems with mineand I do feel like this keyboard, there's a little more travel in the keysso you do have to press a little bit more.It also has a separate escape key,so that is no longer digitaland attached to the touch bar.I think this MacBook hasaddressed a lot of the concernsthat many people had.Keyboard, screen real estate size, storage, RAM, basically I think anythingthat we may have wanted in a Pro MacBook,I think we got it.I just want to document thismoment in time on the internet. This is the first time that I am playingwith an Xbox controlleron my brand new MacBook,in Catalina, and we'replaying the hot lava game.I'm also recording this using QuickTime. This is so exciting. So when I first started this up,it gave me a littlesystem preferences thing. The game kept covering it up,so my Xbox controllerwasn't working initially. So I had to go into the preferencesinto the privacy settingsand make sure I grantedaccess to my Xbox controller. So if you guys ran into this at all, this is probably thedialogue that you would see.Look at me.Doing parcours, oh gosh.Have any of you guys played Apple Arcade? If so, oh gosh, what games have you played?Go, okay, the floor is lava.It is very hot, so jump. What a great concept.I could play this with amouse and keyboard, but, crouch or jump to let go of a pipe.Well I clearly figured that out already.I appreciate.I have these little gym mats in my gym.Jump at the correct time ontrampolines to go higher. That's not a trampoline.Oh, oh, oh, oh gosh!(screams) This is so nerve wracking! This is fun if you play iton the iPad or the iPhone'cause you can use the accelerometer.I'm getting really good at this,so I think that I might be going pro.I'm gonna be the next eSports championof The Floor is Lava.I will see you, oh, justas I got cocky, I died.Is that a friend over there? Can I hurt you?Are you my friend, are we friends?Hi.Oh my gosh, hello friend.Okay well, go away.Where do I wanna go now is the question?I guess I'll just jump down here.I think I broke my leg.If you guys wonder why sometimesI might not post videos here in the futureit's probably becauseI'm now playing The Floor is Lava.I can't think of anything negative to say.I was really tryingbecause I know you guysalways wanna hear mesay something negative.I'm sorry, I don't have anyproblems with this so far.I can't even think of another,oh, one thing I have thought of something. The iSight camera, that definitely could have beensomething that was upgraded, even though I rarelyever use that anymore.A really fun fact, some of my first YouTubevideos that I ever shot,I shot them using an iSight cameraand a really good microphone.Let me just go pull that out.I just wanna show youguys where we started.Or at least where I started. This was a few laptops ago.Still has the light up MacBook.I'm not actually surewhat year this one waseven to find a plug to power it up,but it's interesting becauseI was talking abut the keyboard. So this was probably like a, maybe a 2015.Okay, it's definitelynot exactly the same.It does feel a little bit like in betweenthe butterfly keys and the scissor. What I really wanted toshow you is this beast. This was, I think, the first MacBook Pro.A really beautiful machine. Can you just take a look athow small that track pad iscompared to this one. This also has the same size track padas the previous 15.That is quite a type. But this computer right here, this is what I made some ofmy first YouTube videos on.Little iSight. So if anybody ever tells youthat you can't do something, that's not true.I basically built myentire career off of this.I know I'm sitting heretalking about a very expensivetop-of-the-line computer, but I will never be able tostress this enough to you guys, that whatever you have isgood enough to get started on.And when you feel it's time to upgrade, that's when you do it.I do love this keyboard. It's just so great, how it's all silver,it blends perfectly inwith the MacBook case.If you guys would liketo see a Justine reactsto what's on her oldMacBook, give me a thumb's upand leave me a commentbelow and let me know.So I think when you thinkabout where we came from, where we are now, it's pretty impressive. This thing was such a beast.I spent all of my money, when I had quit my job,to buy this computer. It was probably the worst decision, but also the best decision I ever made.Could I pay my rent?Absolutely not.Did this get my career startedand I owe so much to this little guy,I'm starting to get alittle emotional now.So that's been my initialreaction to the new MacBook Pro.I just don't know what else to sayother than, it's perfect.I'd love to hear what you guysthink in the comments below. What have you seen fromother people's reviews, and if you have oneyourself, what do you think? So for everything I need, this is it, it can do it.I do plan on doing another videowithin a month or soafter I've really been usingit as my day-to-day computer.I do wanna see how it holds upafter I have everything installed.I pretty much have mostof the things that I need, but I love it.(curious music)\n"
