A Visit to Titan Motorsports: A Gathering of Car Enthusiasts and Enthusiastic Banter
As we pulled up to Titan Motorsports, it was clear that this was going to be an event unlike any other. The parking lot was filled with a diverse array of cars, from sleek Porsches to rugged Supras, each one showcasing the unique personality of its owner. Zak's car caught our eye first, with its impressive surge tank upgrade and fuel system overhaul. "We're like we're going to a car meet or something weird," he joked, his enthusiasm infectious.
As we wandered through the crowd, it became apparent that this was more than just a casual gathering – it was a celebration of car culture. Bernal's car, with its engine swap from a four-liter to a cup car, was a particular highlight, and we couldn't resist asking him about it. "Actually used to head out like a cup car engine swapped in," he explained, his pride evident. And then there was the Supra, which looked like it had been plucked straight from a street sweeper's dreamscape – its signal green finish was simply stunning.
But amidst all the beauty on display, we couldn't help but notice the lively banter between the owners. Showman, in particular, seemed to be enjoying himself immensely, regaling us with stories of his own car and taking great pleasure in teasing his friends about their vehicles. "I could have brought the gt3 RS here," he boasted, "would have been on orange and stuff...and my boring friends would've shown." The crowd laughed good-naturedly at this, but it was clear that Showman was determined to be the center of attention.
As we continued to explore Titan Motorsports, we stumbled upon a game being played among the owners. It seemed that each car had been mixed and matched with various components, and the goal was to guess which car belonged to whom. Tommy, who claimed his 2004 GTO had a camshaft swap, bet $361 on it, but Showman countered with a bold $500 bet of his own. "This thing looks like it's tuned for 85 cuz of T-stones," he declared, his confidence unwavering.
Meanwhile, another owner was engaged in an impromptu betting game of its own, with Showman and someone else going head-to-head over the merits of a particular car. After a heated discussion, it became clear that this car had been estimated to produce 442 horsepower – "it's gotta have at least all that," one owner declared, his voice full of conviction.
As we took a break from the action on the track, we noticed that the cars were starting to warm up and get ready for some serious dyno work. The team at Titan Motorsports was busy prepping their equipment, including new injectors and plugs for one car in particular. "Just want to make sure it plays safe," they said, their focus firmly on performance.
As we watched, the cars began to roll onto the dyno, each one producing its own unique sound and vibration. One owner, in particular, was thrilled with his car's performance, exclaiming over its newfound comfort and stability. "It's so comfortable...no more breaking up!" he declared, grinning from ear to ear.
But before we could get too caught up in the excitement of it all, a new addition to the gathering was announced – Brian, our Canadian friend from Titan Motorsports, had arrived with a massive haul of tires from three different companies: Zack Nova, Land Sale, and another yet-to-be-revealed brand. "They're here for us to test out on the S-13s, 15s, and Z3s," he explained, his enthusiasm infectious.
As we took in the scope of this massive collection of tires, it was clear that Titan Motorsports was on the cusp of something special – a true car enthusiast's paradise. With its diverse range of vehicles, knowledgeable owners, and endless opportunities for testing and comparison, this was an event that would stay with us long after our visit had come to an end.
