Ferrari for a sang way now one of these is going to be joining my garage a YouTube so naturally I'm very excited to find out all about it now you can probably tell we're up in the mountains we can't currently see all that much it's slightly overcast and cloudy but that does mean we have some amazing roads to go and drive we're actually right beneath a chair lift there's a ski run right alongside which arguably is where many of these might be right at home it is the most practical Ferrari ever they insist it is not an SUV but today I'd like to show you all the way through the car there are plenty of things that I'm learning as we go taking in new features new details things that are in this for the very first time but of course it's a front mid-mounted six and a half liter naturally aspirated V12 in the first ever four-door Ferrari the welcome doors that open hinged towards the rear and so many other things about it which just make you go yes that is cool well that's why we're here today to find out all about it so let's go drive the Ferrari for a sang way this is the car that I am driving today but there are actually a fair few purusangways around here at the global media launch the first opportunity for people to get behind the wheel of this long-awaited machine so let's dive into it then what exactly is this car well of course it's you could say replaces the GTC 4 lusso which itself had succeeded the Ferrari FF often having four-seater cars in the lineup before that the six stars gaglietti before even that the 456 for example but this is all new this is a first for Ferrari and in fact it is a world's first in exactly what it offers just like the Grand Touring cars for example the likes of the 812 super fast competency only Etc you have a front mid-mounted V12 a transaxle gearbox the 8-speed dual clutch transmission and in this case you have the 4rms Evo four-wheel drive system as well but being Ferrari's first ever four-door vehicle to quickly show you the interior which of course we are going to take a full look at because there's a lot to this including the the passenger infotainment and display controls the haptic controls for the steering wheel the new climate control settings in the center the rear doors are motorized you give a pull and then they will open up hinge from the back those welcome doors to reveal that full interior more space in the back than before in this case as you can see with these two bucket style seats this is the only configuration for the car to close the door you do exactly the reverse just like that very very swish up front though is the power plant and I really want to show you what we've got here six and a half liters of naturally aspirated V12 a familiar engine from other models in the lineup beneath the steering wheel pull here to pop that open but also it actually hinges forwards as well so you get this visual drama revealing that power plant 725 PS that's 715 brake horsepower and 718 newton meters of torque revving to 8200 150 RPM this sounds Mega of course it looks wonderful as well reworked re-engineered of course with this car offering a lot of clever technology a new Ferrari active suspension system we're going to talk a lot more about we also have the four wheel independent steering wheel steering but not only that the rear wheels can steer in different directions depending what the computers believe the car needs but we also have quite a large amount of practicality and space in the back of it as well all new in that regard stepping back from the car that is quite the gigantic Bonnet this car is Rosso Portofino we also have blue Corsa on the blue cars that you see but we need to take a look around talking about the design and the Aero as well before stepping inside having the raw of that V12 and going out and driving let me close this down very quickly from the a-pillar side give that a press down into place and talk about this the design elements you spot incorporate some ideas that we've seen on other models from the Ferrari range but plenty of new ideas as well being a new category of car really and in fact I want to draw attention to these the wheel Arch surrounds finished here in the optional carbon fiber as opposed to the standard black plastic which effectively separate the driving Dynamic elements from the Bodywork that sits on top obviously this clever suspension but also have a look at some of the Aero that you see here for example the curtains where air is funneled and channeled around likewise behind the wheels even on the rear wheels as well this is also open for airflow over the a-pillar effectively under the door mirrors of the car as well even around towards the headlights the running lights here more airflow that head straight through the car and this horizontal line wrapping around the front hides also the parking sensors and the 360 cameras that you have here lots of practicality and user Comforts that are offered with the purusangway lots of opening down below for all of the cooling again more openings for Aero as well and things that are happening discreetly in the background you could say as we come around towards the back have a look here as well in fact look at the spoiler over the top of the rear deck how it's even got some veins and different things going on underneath it and check out the crease on the rear window this is actually to do with avoiding having to have a rear window wiper because the airflow that comes over the car actually serves that purpose the tail lights reminiscent of those on the 296 again this horizontal line running right the way acros the back and that distinct Four Eyes Two on either side similarly with the exhaust tail pipes which you can probably tell it's really quite cold here about freezing temperatures at the moment we've got 23 inch wheels at the back 22 at the front fitted with Michelin Pilot Alpin tires we have ceramic brakes as standard but I need to come and warm up so join me inside the cabin of this rather lovely machine pull the front doors forward close they don't have any automation for those the engine start stop button has changed to being red in here I'm going to press that there we go we've got it started time to get some warmth rolling inside here so we've got the curved display a new style though a new software and presentation there's a passenger display additionally over there which I want to run through because there's a lot to that plus you have your climate controls through this which very nicely opens up and gives you all sorts of different screens and settings within that toggle press it again and it will tuck back down we also have the electrochromic roof this full glass panel up top which you can set to either be tinted or to be translucent if you'd like to have more of the sunshine heading in although not so much of that today site updates as well to the steering wheel but I will go through the interior in a lot more detail once we return for now I'm frozen let's go take this for a drive it is actually starting to look like some of this Cloud might be burning off which is very very welcome now it's fascinating to me how much of the entertainment is new compared to the Roamer the sf90 stradalian spider and the 296 GTB and GTS and one of the absolute standout things is that this car doesn't have a built-in nav the idea is that they rely on you using your Android auto or apple carplay apple carplay being Wireless I'm an Android guy so it has to be wired we do have a wireless charging pad and that then pops up on the driver's display which I quite like because I always do that in my cars anyway but it's I suppose surprising to see that Ferrari are really one of the first to have done that anyway into gear it is nice and warm in here these are massaging seats heated ventilated you can have the same in the back as well should you wish but all set up to go and drive in the car that is slightly larger than the lusso but not hugely the numbers and the scale of the increase is actually pretty minor at the end of the day and driving slowly you've got that nice murmur of the V12 in the background it is the perfect sound exactly what you want to hear in a car like this because let's face it petrol heads we're emotional we like a car that is about the sound that is about the excitement and that is about being something you want as opposed to something you need shall we say now I'm going to head for a little drive off in this direction foreign we're currently in sport now we're in Comfort sorry but I'm going to turn it down into wet in the manatino there's no race setting there's a tunnel but we're going to come back to that in just a moment in the various different modes though it adjusts the Adaptive suspension now there are different settings often in Ferraris you will just have a button to press to put it into bumpy road mode in here you have soft middle and hard in the different settings so in ice wet and comfort it's soft by default in sport or in ESC off it's hard by default and a few presses of the manatino will toggle that and change it between the different driving modes the different settings to have that exactly how you would like now toggling the manatino in general changes the shift points a few other elements of the dynamic side of driving but instantly you're aware it's very calm it's very quiet it's very refined it's very high quality it feels incredibly premium as it should with a car that's base price starts at 313 000 pounds and we'll probably get you near there it's a 400 000 pounds by the time you've done your specification now I think what we all want though is to turn this into sport mode to head to the H pad in the center to go manual and to start downshifting a few gears as we can start to see some of the mountains as well into second gear into first skier with those ferocious shifts that's 6000 RPM or so and you feel instantly like you're in an 8-12 it feels like you've hopped into an 812 super fast the familiarity of the sound that it makes the pitch that whale of the 12-cylinder power plant is we're going to head out and go find some nice roads to drive the slightly strange sensation for me is being sat a little bit higher than you are in the lusso it feels very familiar the glass is actually raked at an even steeper angle and heads down forwards which gives you a different perspective or proportion of the car overall once it's out on the road what a cool place to be driving right now and just listen to that in the background listen to it this is a Ferrari this is a Ferrari that's what it's supposed to be it's supposed to be Ferrari's way of doing things and that's what this car has felt like to me since the moment they introduced it it's not an SUV as we know it because then you would have a very heavy lump out in front of the front axle and you'd be acutely aware of that I'm going to head to a road filled with hairpins and twisties and you'll see what this car is like when you're in that kind of terrain but it just feels really really smart it feels really like something that doesn't exist anywhere else and in fact with a little bit of a tunnel here let me pop the window down for a second take first gear and just enjoy this revving to over 8 000 RPM in this car that's also loaded with tech some things take a little bit of getting used to and I would like to say that I don't think it would be a Ferrari if they didn't things like this pad in the center when you want to find the right settings okay yes it's a physical thing that you can rotate but you also need to swipe it through a few screens and it takes a little bit of adapting and getting used to I like that they've refined the haptic controls on the steering wheel these have always been a big talking point but now by having a physical indent it means that you're more aware of exactly what you're doing without having to stare down at it and cycle through the different screens you do have the option to go to a full screen obviously Android auto apple carplay style display should you wish looks like I've found another Cloud No Sunshine certainly for the time being anyway but overall so far it's just it just feels very welcoming I'm aware it's a big machine it feels wider than the lasso I feel like it's a a wider Beastie and I'm sure that is in part as I can't see very much at all right now thanks to the higher seating position I've done the worst thing possible with the weather that's a pair of sanguay I recognize those lights coming towards me oh gosh that was actually quite scary as somebody just pulled out there but let me yeah let me turn around in here as well because I'm gonna head back the other way I guess here we are on a slightly bumpy bit of off-road pop it into reverse and we've got the full cameras and this is where you know this is a pretty usable thing right head back onto the road as quickly as possible in case somebody comes the other way it doesn't make sense yet it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but I'm very excited for what's in store for me with mine for everything with this thing and the options it opens the possibilities of it you know it's not like I said it's not an SUV in a traditional sense you can't Toe with it you still have to be aware that everything's very expensive if you damage some carbon fiber or something like that and it doesn't have an off-road mode that's not the ethos behind it it's a more usable Ferrari it's a Ferrari as we know it that lineage of the four seaters as I've been saying but with back doors with increased ground clearance with more space inside and with more technology as well with everything that would help in your daily usage of the car shall we say now on the other hand I'm gonna go find a twisty Road and I can tell you there it's going to be just as good as you want it to be I've just pulled over for a moment to show you one or two things about this car but the first thing that I have to do is just take a little listen to this revving up so quickly to that red line sounding amazing but like I said slightly muted in comparison to the lasso of course this is a derivative of the engine that you find in the 812 super fast a very very very powerful machine in fact the world's most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the world for a V12 830 horsepower in the ector competency only obviously 105 horsepower down on that in this I'm enjoying learning a little bit more about this some familiar elements like the hpad here which is where you have your reverse for example where it will then bring up the various different cameras we've got the 360 camera in fact if I close the door you can see a little bit more of that you've got various different angles and things you can control you wake up the screen and then from it within here you can go through and set this depending how you'd like to obviously see the different modes and what you'd like to bring up on there or you have automatic manual or push this one forwards and that's your launch control but we're not going to be doing that right at this moment in time making this awkward for myself pop it back in neutral manual use of the park brake just down there in fact it was on I've just turned it off but it's back on now this is where we have our mirror controls lights cameras um heli which is your uh start stop system effectively you can manually turn that off should you wish and plenty more I want to go through this actually when we pull over but for now the roads are beckoning let's keep going this bit of road that I'm driving at the moment is actually the historic trento bondone Hill Climb basically a series of hairpins switching back on one another up the hill alongside the ski resort ski slopes that you have just here as well but it's an opportunity to put this a little bit more through its Dynamic Paces as we squirm around a little bit there pulling in first gear and I tell you what when it comes to the sound it's actually a little bit quieter than the lusso that came before it and obviously in the new era you have to have opfs you have to have all sorts of regulations and being a four-seater it gets noticeably louder in the back than it is in the front I can tell you from riding in the back a little bit earlier on now in terms of how it drives how it feels instantly Ferrari and what I mean by that is twofold one with the steering very Twitchy very quick perhaps on some of these hair pins I'd like it to actually be an even tighter steering rack so I'm not constantly having to lean my hands over one another to make it around but in terms of the pedals throttle is Lively break is very sensitive the things that you know perhaps soften down from the lasso which itself was softened down from the FF to make this more usable to make it a car that's better for everyday purposes better for what I think Ferrari are really going for for letting customers both existing customers who want a car to use on a more regular basis but also new customers to the brand to come in and to have a product that offers New Opportunities you know similarly to what they saw with the introduction of the FF and also also with the California California tea Portofino for example the Roma more recently as well introducing new models across the range as we are now finding our way properly towards the sunshine enjoying this to the max I mean thank you there's no question it gets to move on one thing that I think is quite interesting is the power at 725 is only technically up about five percent from the 690 of the V12 lasso the weight is actually up to 2033 kilos dry 2170 kilos wet which is a good 240 or so kilos heavier than the GDC boiler so that is a a big number obviously motorized rear doors more or a bigger car more materials that need to be involved in it in the first place but even more Tech even more safety even more everything on that front as we're now up into the town and it's quite fun to be driving a Ferrari in a ski resort I mean surrounded by ski shops the skiers up on the hill the chairlift right there as well the lifts the main Center of vassal where we are at the moment enjoying driving this thing I can't complain right what a what a great day what a great car what an amazing thing to be driving what a world who would have thought that Ferrari would one day make a car like this but I think the critical takeaway and it's probably cliche to say it because probably everybody has said it is that it's not really an SUV in the way that you know it this is not an SUV in the way that the Urus is an SUV or the cullinan is an SUV this is a Ferrari that happens to be a little bit taller and a little bit more practical thank you this area is actually a place that I've driven so many times over the years in fact about a decade ago right here is where I started a drive in a Porsche 918 spider the first hyper car that I had ever driven which is crazy to think and now having been here with so many of my cars and presumably at some point in the future I'll be here as well with my burasangway which is kind of fun to think about as well it's just the way this mixes practicality with ferrariness for lack of a better term the fact that you can drop it down take first gear and do this yes on the other hand you can also just take it easily just use the car and that's what it's all about really that's the whole purpose of this thing is to bring the Ferrari philosophy to a new segment to a new style of vehicles something to bring in both new audience but also to offer existing customers which I suppose includes me with the cars that I have and the growing collection that I have and I'm absolutely loving today driving this car but I'm going to pull back into the car park here because I'd like to show you a few more things about it so let's head on in and you know when you pull off road this has a lift system by the way you can just press a button and lift up the suspension You could argue why would you need it in a an SUV to use that phrase again but it's still a Ferrari and it's still pretty low to the ground All Things Considered and that's how you have to look at this car you have to look at it as that rather than a direct Oris competitor or a you know KN turbo GT or something it's it's not the same it's just not the same well that is quite the line eight Ferrari purusangways up here at the top of the mountain with the sunshine now coming out on the cars as well but I want to show you a little bit more through this some of the options on the interior and some of the specifics of the infotainment as well that we have here first up to talk about the colors of this specific car against the Rosso Portofino inside we've got the dual tone with the charcoal leather for the seats and then the Nero leather that you can spot around the dashboard the door cards and the armrest for example with these inserts in a new Alcantara a new more sustainable Alcantara working directly with Alcantara the company to produce that this being the first vehicle it features in now these are the style seats which means you get this different inlay for the base and for the lower backrest with the finishing rustler detail that you can see there as well otherwise that would full fully be in Alcantara itself another collaboration on this car is with burmester for the sound system the high-end sound system the 21 speaker system which is 1420 Watts you can spot speakers all around the entire car and I have certainly never heard a Ferrari sound system like this they were jokingly saying you have three sound systems here the engine the exhaust and the burmester stereo inside which is really very very good it has to be said now it's just got a little bit chillier again so if you step inside here to show you a bit more around it the Ferrari porous sanguay logo there on the dashboard we have soft clothes so when you pull the door too it will do the rest things like the steering wheel then move into place the seat as well a press of the button to turn on the ignition and we get the dashboard display I'd like to talk you through in a little bit more detail now this is where as I mentioned these indents for the controls mean you have more of a tactile feel for where exactly they are without having to look down so much which has often been a complaint with the Roma sf90 and the 296 but then you have control of the right side of the display so vehicle audio Apple carplay Android auto and your phone settings all easily accessible in there if you go into vehicle you've then got a couple of your different screens that you can change and go into the settings for example to set these up wireless charging for an object on pad it's quite clever that it knows that my other camera is down there at the moment but all of that information as I said is just controlled by swiping this around you can see that changes what's on the left hand side with that very prominent Central rev counter as we know from Ferraris and in fact sounds good doesn't it when you've just stepped in you can hold the button if you don't want to have to do the double stage press so you can start it from the off just by holding it rather than going through the ignition cycle first you can see everything else illuminated here your cruise control is over towards this side you wake it up by pressing there after 15 seconds it inactivates this is your Hill descent control up to 30 kilometers an hour 19 miles an hour it will control the speed of your descent so that's kind of as much off-roading as this really has or needs obviously your light controls and wiper controls are on here this particular car doesn't have the carbon fiber LED driver Zone where you'd have the carbon fiber shift lights up at the top with this panel being carbon fiber and also carbon at the bottom and carbon shift paddles Which I really like I would definitely recommend specing that it's very nice we do have all of the other carbon inlay options the Saturn carbon bezel cluster and all of the other parts here which would otherwise be in gloss black as opposed to carbon fiber matching with the central storage and stowage areas that we have there now I need to talk about this a little bit more in this Central Area this is where you have your heated steering wheel control your front nose lift system your window heaters for the settings and things your electrochromic roof and of course this which the more I'm playing with it the more I am getting accustomed to how it works but it's definitely fiddly and takes some learning it's not necessarily the easiest if you want to go into the seat you actually have inside here your heated seats cooling seats Etc plus see this is exactly what I'm saying trying to work out where things are you have various parts of oh yes this is where I can choose which sheet I'm controlling and then you have your lumbar as well so the front of the base the side bolsters the backrest bolsters the lower back and the upper back you can go into these uh and then when you're in it oh no no you don't need to click it you just do it that as you can see is how you control that and then go back all the way to the main screen and tuck it away again a little bit of learning but I think once you've got the hang of it probably less to worry about there beneath that you have a little slot here for the key your wireless charging pad the stowage cover here with the cup holders right inside behind that your SOS alerts your hazards the H PAD as I mentioned which I really like your four window controls child lock and a little bit of an armrest storage as well tiny little space with your 12 volt and two USB C ports that you have tucked in there now I'm going to leave the engine running because I want to run around and show you a little bit more of the passenger display which from the driver's side is actually very hard to see it's basically blacked out if it's even on at the moment I can't tell at all so let me run around and go and have a little look at that to show you through in a touch more detail soft clothes on the doors always nice to have might be the first Ferrari ever with soft clothes listening to that verbal sounds lovely as well inside here then on the passenger side of the car it is illuminated you can see this is the main display with your rev counter speed g-forces shows you your driving mode you can actually pull over the burmester settings if you'd like to control the media from this side you've got your climate settings you've got the seat settings and from here you can actually control various of the different seats so you can choose which seat you want and then adjust everything from the passenger side so the passenger can actually turn on the massaging for the driver from this side which is kind of funny then you've got all of your different Comfort settings different screens that you can load up information screens and displays always fun Ferrari did a great job of this basically being the first have this kind of thing and as always they've done it very very nicely good air quality here in the mountains as you can see or back to the the main display but otherwise you've got this Dual Zone if you will the passenger kind of driver's Zone almost or the co-driver Zone we should say and the driver's Zone itself I'm going to just switch it off for the moment and show you in the back of the car and the space that we have available here nearly went for the handle in the wrong place little pull of that it opens up in fact arguably I should go around to the driver's side let me just do that quickly close up the passenger door come all the way around to the other side because with the driver's seat in my position it's always interesting to take a seat behind yourself if you will to see the amount of space that the car offers and this is where it's very impressive there's a lot of space here there's plenty of Headroom more so than in the lasso the roof feels very far above me but one comment I want to make about the glass roof which is an option it's carbon fiber by default it's that up front you don't really get the maximum effect of it as you do in the lasso in the lusso it feels much closer to you so you don't have quite as large a pillow at the top of the windshield which means that you're aware of the glass above you in here you're really not only the rear occupants get to make the most of having that now back here you do have the exact same controller it's not enabled at the moment in fact I can probably just lean through quickly give a press of the button to wake it up and then of course we've got this active and I can show you in the same way or different controls that you have you can do the electrochromic roof from here you have to choose the seat that you want so you actually have to go in there and then choose on that display which sheet you want to control again a little bit fiddly take some getting used to but once you've got it it's going to work fine we've currently got some water bottles in here but if you pop those out you can fold that away over the top of those cup holders and you've got a little bit of storage again with a wireless charging pad and some USBC ports now you might be wondering about the folding system I'm going to show you that in a moment because from here you would not necessarily realize that all of this folds open but you can have some storage available back there so let me hop out some pockets in the back and come and show you a little bit more of that as somebody who likes to travel a lot and likes to use a practical support car you can imagine luggage is certainly something we need to talk about now in here you've got a button just underneath here to press or you can open the powerful tailgate from the key inside here you've got a flat boot floor comes with the supplied car cover everyone has one of those just pop my bag back because under here you've got a little bit more storage space as well if you need to hide anything away underneath we also have the personalization specifications plaque like all modern Ferraris with the full list of the spec of that particular car along with the serial number and some other details and information as well now it's a bit of a process to maximize the space as it was in the FF and the less so but effectively you take out this upper parcel shelf that slides out then you take off this backrest shelf that slides out and then on the left side here you have some buttons to control the seats so for example right seat forwards wait for a little ping that will actually Shuffle the front seat a touch forwards and then electronically folds that seat completely down obviously you can do exactly the same with the other seats to then have the maximum amount of storage space that you could possibly want but you know if you're driving this as let's say a three-seater to chase your very practical Ferrari Supercar ironic slightly you can put all the luggage in here and that's going to work very well at the end of the day similarly I pressed again it gives you a little beep a chime in the background just to let you know you pop these in more easily than you would think that just goes into place like that clicks on both sides and then this Shelf while the seat is still folding tucks in to the rails just there clicks into place close it down not too much work really nice and easy so what do I think after driving the purusangware first time at the wheel of this well firstly you feel like you're driving F12 812 you feel like you're driving a Ferrari Super GT you feel like you're driving something really really special and remember this is on winter tires on summer Tires it will be even more connected to the ground and feel even more as it should so to speak on these it squirrels and squirms around a little bit as I've been experiencing today soundtrack a little bit muted compared to some of the others but as is the way with regulations of course this is let's say launch specification with the V12 we expect that a hybridized V6 will probably arrive maybe other engine derivatives as well a little bit more down the line but my experience of this today has been long live the V12 to still have a car like this a quick word about the dimensions which I find quite interesting as well it's five centimeters longer than a lasso so that two inches it's four centimeters wider and only 20 centimeters taller that's something you don't necessarily think about it's only eight centimeters taller than an Audi A6 all road for example to give you a comparison it's a slightly lifted Next Generation lasso and you can see what Ferrari have been going for with it and now having driven it it drives in that way as well obviously significant enhancements and generational step changes with the the suspension system with the dampers working with multimatic who have quite the reputation with this kind of thing as well and that translates so I would certainly enjoy a Nurburgring lap or something like that with mine down the line so we might have to see if that's going to happen but for today despite the cold and the cloudier than desired weather it's still been an awesome drive out with the new Ferrari for a sangware first experience of a future schmee mobile so it's not going to be too long until I can reveal all the details about the spec of mine along the V12 as I said cold start out of that one right now sounds cool doesn't it the spec and when it's going to be arriving but I'm certainly planning some big things ahead with the purusangway in the Shmi reveals that's it for now though thank you very much for and I'll see you soon cheershi guys I'm shmee hello and welcome back to the channel where today is a very exciting one it's an opportunity for the first time to get behind the wheel of the new Ferrari for a sang way now one of these is going to be joining my garage a YouTube so naturally I'm very excited to find out all about it now you can probably tell we're up in the mountains we can't currently see all that much it's slightly overcast and cloudy but that does mean we have some amazing roads to go and drive we're actually right beneath a chair lift there's a ski run right alongside which arguably is where many of these might be right at home it is the most practical Ferrari ever they insist it is not an SUV but today I'd like to show you all the way through the car there are plenty of things that I'm learning as we go taking in new features new details things that are in this for the very first time but of course it's a front mid-mounted six and a half liter naturally aspirated V12 in the first ever four-door Ferrari the welcome doors that open hinged towards the rear and so many other things about it which just make you go yes that is cool well that's why we're here today to find out all about it so let's go drive the Ferrari for a sang way this is the car that I am driving today but there are actually a fair few purusangways around here at the global media launch the first opportunity for people to get behind the wheel of this long-awaited machine so let's dive into it then what exactly is this car well of course it's you could say replaces the GTC 4 lusso which itself had succeeded the Ferrari FF often having four-seater cars in the lineup before that the six stars gaglietti before even that the 456 for example but this is all new this is a first for Ferrari and in fact it is a world's first in exactly what it offers just like the Grand Touring cars for example the likes of the 812 super fast competency only Etc you have a front mid-mounted V12 a transaxle gearbox the 8-speed dual clutch transmission and in this case you have the 4rms Evo four-wheel drive system as well but being Ferrari's first ever four-door vehicle to quickly show you the interior which of course we are going to take a full look at because there's a lot to this including the the passenger infotainment and display controls the haptic controls for the steering wheel the new climate control settings in the center the rear doors are motorized you give a pull and then they will open up hinge from the back those welcome doors to reveal that full interior more space in the back than before in this case as you can see with these two bucket style seats this is the only configuration for the car to close the door you do exactly the reverse just like that very very swish up front though is the power plant and I really want to show you what we've got here six and a half liters of naturally aspirated V12 a familiar engine from other models in the lineup beneath the steering wheel pull here to pop that open but also it actually hinges forwards as well so you get this visual drama revealing that power plant 725 PS that's 715 brake horsepower and 718 newton meters of torque revving to 8200 150 RPM this sounds Mega of course it looks wonderful as well reworked re-engineered of course with this car offering a lot of clever technology a new Ferrari active suspension system we're going to talk a lot more about we also have the four wheel independent steering wheel steering but not only that the rear wheels can steer in different directions depending what the computers believe the car needs but we also have quite a large amount of practicality and space in the back of it as well all new in that regard stepping back from the car that is quite the gigantic Bonnet this car is Rosso Portofino we also have blue Corsa on the blue cars that you see but we need to take a look around talking about the design and the Aero as well before stepping inside having the raw of that V12 and going out and driving let me close this down very quickly from the a-pillar side give that a press down into place and talk about this the design elements you spot incorporate some ideas that we've seen on other models from the Ferrari range but plenty of new ideas as well being a new category of car really and in fact I want to draw attention to these the wheel Arch surrounds finished here in the optional carbon fiber as opposed to the standard black plastic which effectively separate the driving Dynamic elements from the Bodywork that sits on top obviously this clever suspension but also have a look at some of the Aero that you see here for example the curtains where air is funneled and channeled around likewise behind the wheels even on the rear wheels as well this is also open for airflow over the a-pillar effectively under the door mirrors of the car as well even around towards the headlights the running lights here more airflow that head straight through the car and this horizontal line wrapping around the front hides also the parking sensors and the 360 cameras that you have here lots of practicality and user Comforts that are offered with the purusangway lots of opening down below for all of the cooling again more openings for Aero as well and things that are happening discreetly in the background you could say as we come around towards the back have a look here as well in fact look at the spoiler over the top of the rear deck how it's even got some veins and different things going on underneath it and check out the crease on the rear window this is actually to do with avoiding having to have a rear window wiper because the airflow that comes over the car actually serves that purpose the tail lights reminiscent of those on the 296 again this horizontal line running right the way acros the back and that distinct Four Eyes Two on either side similarly with the exhaust tail pipes which you can probably tell it's really quite cold here about freezing temperatures at the moment we've got 23 inch wheels at the back 22 at the front fitted with Michelin Pilot Alpin tires we have ceramic brakes as standard but I need to come and warm up so join me inside the cabin of this rather lovely machine pull the front doors forward close they don't have any automation for those the engine start stop button has changed to being red in here I'm going to press that there we go we've got it started time to get some warmth rolling inside here so we've got the curved display a new style though a new software and presentation there's a passenger display additionally over there which I want to run through because there's a lot to that plus you have your climate controls through this which very nicely opens up and gives you all sorts of different screens and settings within that toggle press it again and it will tuck back down we also have the electrochromic roof this full glass panel up top which you can set to either be tinted or to be translucent if you'd like to have more of the sunshine heading in although not so much of that today site updates as well to the steering wheel but I will go through the interior in a lot more detail once we return for now I'm frozen let's go take this for a drive it is actually starting to look like some of this Cloud might be burning off which is very very welcome now it's fascinating to me how much of the entertainment is new compared to the Roamer the sf90 stradalian spider and the 296 GTB and GTS and one of the absolute standout things is that this car doesn't have a built-in nav the idea is that they rely on you using your Android auto or apple carplay apple carplay being Wireless I'm an Android guy so it has to be wired we do have a wireless charging pad and that then pops up on the driver's display which I quite like because I always do that in my cars anyway but it's I suppose surprising to see that Ferrari are really one of the first to have done that anyway into gear it is nice and warm in here these are massaging seats heated ventilated you can have the same in the back as well should you wish but all set up to go and drive in the car that is slightly larger than the lusso but not hugely the numbers and the scale of the increase is actually pretty minor at the end of the day and driving slowly you've got that nice murmur of the V12 in the background it is the perfect sound exactly what you want to hear in a car like this because let's face it petrol heads we're emotional we like a car that is about the sound that is about the excitement and that is about being something you want as opposed to something you need shall we say now I'm going to head for a little drive off in this direction foreign we're currently in sport now we're in Comfort sorry but I'm going to turn it down into wet in the manatino there's no race setting there's a tunnel but we're going to come back to that in just a moment in the various different modes though it adjusts the Adaptive suspension now there are different settings often in Ferraris you will just have a button to press to put it into bumpy road mode in here you have soft middle and hard in the different settings so in ice wet and comfort it's soft by default in sport or in ESC off it's hard by default and a few presses of the manatino will toggle that and change it between the different driving modes the different settings to have that exactly how you would like now toggling the manatino in general changes the shift points a few other elements of the dynamic side of driving but instantly you're aware it's very calm it's very quiet it's very refined it's very high quality it feels incredibly premium as it should with a car that's base price starts at 313 000 pounds and we'll probably get you near there it's a 400 000 pounds by the time you've done your specification now I think what we all want though is to turn this into sport mode to head to the H pad in the center to go manual and to start downshifting a few gears as we can start to see some of the mountains as well into second gear into first skier with those ferocious shifts that's 6000 RPM or so and you feel instantly like you're in an 8-12 it feels like you've hopped into an 812 super fast the familiarity of the sound that it makes the pitch that whale of the 12-cylinder power plant is we're going to head out and go find some nice roads to drive the slightly strange sensation for me is being sat a little bit higher than you are in the lusso it feels very familiar the glass is actually raked at an even steeper angle and heads down forwards which gives you a different perspective or proportion of the car overall once it's out on the road what a cool place to be driving right now and just listen to that in the background listen to it this is a Ferrari this is a Ferrari that's what it's supposed to be it's supposed to be Ferrari's way of doing things and that's what this car has felt like to me since the moment they introduced it it's not an SUV as we know it because then you would have a very heavy lump out in front of the front axle and you'd be acutely aware of that I'm going to head to a road filled with hairpins and twisties and you'll see what this car is like when you're in that kind of terrain but it just feels really really smart it feels really like something that doesn't exist anywhere else and in fact with a little bit of a tunnel here let me pop the window down for a second take first gear and just enjoy this revving to over 8 000 RPM in this car that's also loaded with tech some things take a little bit of getting used to and I would like to say that I don't think it would be a Ferrari if they didn't things like this pad in the center when you want to find the right settings okay yes it's a physical thing that you can rotate but you also need to swipe it through a few screens and it takes a little bit of adapting and getting used to I like that they've refined the haptic controls on the steering wheel these have always been a big talking point but now by having a physical indent it means that you're more aware of exactly what you're doing without having to stare down at it and cycle through the different screens you do have the option to go to a full screen obviously Android auto apple carplay style display should you wish looks like I've found another Cloud No Sunshine certainly for the time being anyway but overall so far it's just it just feels very welcoming I'm aware it's a big machine it feels wider than the lasso I feel like it's a a wider Beastie and I'm sure that is in part as I can't see very much at all right now thanks to the higher seating position I've done the worst thing possible with the weather that's a pair of sanguay I recognize those lights coming towards me oh gosh that was actually quite scary as somebody just pulled out there but let me yeah let me turn around in here as well because I'm gonna head back the other way I guess here we are on a slightly bumpy bit of off-road pop it into reverse and we've got the full cameras and this is where you know this is a pretty usable thing right head back onto the road as quickly as possible in case somebody comes the other way it doesn't make sense yet it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but I'm very excited for what's in store for me with mine for everything with this thing and the options it opens the possibilities of it you know it's not like I said it's not an SUV in a traditional sense you can't Toe with it you still have to be aware that everything's very expensive if you damage some carbon fiber or something like that and it doesn't have an off-road mode that's not the ethos behind it it's a more usable Ferrari it's a Ferrari as we know it that lineage of the four seaters as I've been saying but with back doors with increased ground clearance with more space inside and with more technology as well with everything that would help in your daily usage of the car shall we say now on the other hand I'm gonna go find a twisty Road and I can tell you there it's going to be just as good as you want it to be I've just pulled over for a moment to show you one or two things about this car but the first thing that I have to do is just take a little listen to this revving up so quickly to that red line sounding amazing but like I said slightly muted in comparison to the lasso of course this is a derivative of the engine that you find in the 812 super fast a very very very powerful machine in fact the world's most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the world for a V12 830 horsepower in the ector competency only obviously 105 horsepower down on that in this I'm enjoying learning a little bit more about this some familiar elements like the hpad here which is where you have your reverse for example where it will then bring up the various different cameras we've got the 360 camera in fact if I close the door you can see a little bit more of that you've got various different angles and things you can control you wake up the screen and then from it within here you can go through and set this depending how you'd like to obviously see the different modes and what you'd like to bring up on there or you have automatic manual or push this one forwards and that's your launch control but we're not going to be doing that right at this moment in time making this awkward for myself pop it back in neutral manual use of the park brake just down there in fact it was on I've just turned it off but it's back on now this is where we have our mirror controls lights cameras um heli which is your uh start stop system effectively you can manually turn that off should you wish and plenty more I want to go through this actually when we pull over but for now the roads are beckoning let's keep going this bit of road that I'm driving at the moment is actually the historic trento bondone Hill Climb basically a series of hairpins switching back on one another up the hill alongside the ski resort ski slopes that you have just here as well but it's an opportunity to put this a little bit more through its Dynamic Paces as we squirm around a little bit there pulling in first gear and I tell you what when it comes to the sound it's actually a little bit quieter than the lusso that came before it and obviously in the new era you have to have opfs you have to have all sorts of regulations and being a four-seater it gets noticeably louder in the back than it is in the front I can tell you from riding in the back a little bit earlier on now in terms of how it drives how it feels instantly Ferrari and what I mean by that is twofold one with the steering very Twitchy very quick perhaps on some of these hair pins I'd like it to actually be an even tighter steering rack so I'm not constantly having to lean my hands over one another to make it around but in terms of the pedals throttle is Lively break is very sensitive the things that you know perhaps soften down from the lasso which itself was softened down from the FF to make this more usable to make it a car that's better for everyday purposes better for what I think Ferrari are really going for for letting customers both existing customers who want a car to use on a more regular basis but also new customers to the brand to come in and to have a product that offers New Opportunities you know similarly to what they saw with the introduction of the FF and also also with the California California tea Portofino for example the Roma more recently as well introducing new models across the range as we are now finding our way properly towards the sunshine enjoying this to the max I mean thank you there's no question it gets to move on one thing that I think is quite interesting is the power at 725 is only technically up about five percent from the 690 of the V12 lasso the weight is actually up to 2033 kilos dry 2170 kilos wet which is a good 240 or so kilos heavier than the GDC boiler so that is a a big number obviously motorized rear doors more or a bigger car more materials that need to be involved in it in the first place but even more Tech even more safety even more everything on that front as we're now up into the town and it's quite fun to be driving a Ferrari in a ski resort I mean surrounded by ski shops the skiers up on the hill the chairlift right there as well the lifts the main Center of vassal where we are at the moment enjoying driving this thing I can't complain right what a what a great day what a great car what an amazing thing to be driving what a world who would have thought that Ferrari would one day make a car like this but I think the critical takeaway and it's probably cliche to say it because probably everybody has said it is that it's not really an SUV in the way that you know it this is not an SUV in the way that the Urus is an SUV or the cullinan is an SUV this is a Ferrari that happens to be a little bit taller and a little bit more practical thank you this area is actually a place that I've driven so many times over the years in fact about a decade ago right here is where I started a drive in a Porsche 918 spider the first hyper car that I had ever driven which is crazy to think and now having been here with so many of my cars and presumably at some point in the future I'll be here as well with my burasangway which is kind of fun to think about as well it's just the way this mixes practicality with ferrariness for lack of a better term the fact that you can drop it down take first gear and do this yes on the other hand you can also just take it easily just use the car and that's what it's all about really that's the whole purpose of this thing is to bring the Ferrari philosophy to a new segment to a new style of vehicles something to bring in both new audience but also to offer existing customers which I suppose includes me with the cars that I have and the growing collection that I have and I'm absolutely loving today driving this car but I'm going to pull back into the car park here because I'd like to show you a few more things about it so let's head on in and you know when you pull off road this has a lift system by the way you can just press a button and lift up the suspension You could argue why would you need it in a an SUV to use that phrase again but it's still a Ferrari and it's still pretty low to the ground All Things Considered and that's how you have to look at this car you have to look at it as that rather than a direct Oris competitor or a you know KN turbo GT or something it's it's not the same it's just not the same well that is quite the line eight Ferrari purusangways up here at the top of the mountain with the sunshine now coming out on the cars as well but I want to show you a little bit more through this some of the options on the interior and some of the specifics of the infotainment as well that we have here first up to talk about the colors of this specific car against the Rosso Portofino inside we've got the dual tone with the charcoal leather for the seats and then the Nero leather that you can spot around the dashboard the door cards and the armrest for example with these inserts in a new Alcantara a new more sustainable Alcantara working directly with Alcantara the company to produce that this being the first vehicle it features in now these are the style seats which means you get this different inlay for the base and for the lower backrest with the finishing rustler detail that you can see there as well otherwise that would full fully be in Alcantara itself another collaboration on this car is with burmester for the sound system the high-end sound system the 21 speaker system which is 1420 Watts you can spot speakers all around the entire car and I have certainly never heard a Ferrari sound system like this they were jokingly saying you have three sound systems here the engine the exhaust and the burmester stereo inside which is really very very good it has to be said now it's just got a little bit chillier again so if you step inside here to show you a bit more around it the Ferrari porous sanguay logo there on the dashboard we have soft clothes so when you pull the door too it will do the rest things like the steering wheel then move into place the seat as well a press of the button to turn on the ignition and we get the dashboard display I'd like to talk you through in a little bit more detail now this is where as I mentioned these indents for the controls mean you have more of a tactile feel for where exactly they are without having to look down so much which has often been a complaint with the Roma sf90 and the 296 but then you have control of the right side of the display so vehicle audio Apple carplay Android auto and your phone settings all easily accessible in there if you go into vehicle you've then got a couple of your different screens that you can change and go into the settings for example to set these up wireless charging for an object on pad it's quite clever that it knows that my other camera is down there at the moment but all of that information as I said is just controlled by swiping this around you can see that changes what's on the left hand side with that very prominent Central rev counter as we know from Ferraris and in fact sounds good doesn't it when you've just stepped in you can hold the button if you don't want to have to do the double stage press so you can start it from the off just by holding it rather than going through the ignition cycle first you can see everything else illuminated here your cruise control is over towards this side you wake it up by pressing there after 15 seconds it inactivates this is your Hill descent control up to 30 kilometers an hour 19 miles an hour it will control the speed of your descent so that's kind of as much off-roading as this really has or needs obviously your light controls and wiper controls are on here this particular car doesn't have the carbon fiber LED driver Zone where you'd have the carbon fiber shift lights up at the top with this panel being carbon fiber and also carbon at the bottom and carbon shift paddles Which I really like I would definitely recommend specing that it's very nice we do have all of the other carbon inlay options the Saturn carbon bezel cluster and all of the other parts here which would otherwise be in gloss black as opposed to carbon fiber matching with the central storage and stowage areas that we have there now I need to talk about this a little bit more in this Central Area this is where you have your heated steering wheel control your front nose lift system your window heaters for the settings and things your electrochromic roof and of course this which the more I'm playing with it the more I am getting accustomed to how it works but it's definitely fiddly and takes some learning it's not necessarily the easiest if you want to go into the seat you actually have inside here your heated seats cooling seats Etc plus see this is exactly what I'm saying trying to work out where things are you have various parts of oh yes this is where I can choose which sheet I'm controlling and then you have your lumbar as well so the front of the base the side bolsters the backrest bolsters the lower back and the upper back you can go into these uh and then when you're in it oh no no you don't need to click it you just do it that as you can see is how you control that and then go back all the way to the main screen and tuck it away again a little bit of learning but I think once you've got the hang of it probably less to worry about there beneath that you have a little slot here for the key your wireless charging pad the stowage cover here with the cup holders right inside behind that your SOS alerts your hazards the H PAD as I mentioned which I really like your four window controls child lock and a little bit of an armrest storage as well tiny little space with your 12 volt and two USB C ports that you have tucked in there now I'm going to leave the engine running because I want to run around and show you a little bit more of the passenger display which from the driver's side is actually very hard to see it's basically blacked out if it's even on at the moment I can't tell at all so let me run around and go and have a little look at that to show you through in a touch more detail soft clothes on the doors always nice to have might be the first Ferrari ever with soft clothes listening to that verbal sounds lovely as well inside here then on the passenger side of the car it is illuminated you can see this is the main display with your rev counter speed g-forces shows you your driving mode you can actually pull over the burmester settings if you'd like to control the media from this side you've got your climate settings you've got the seat settings and from here you can actually control various of the different seats so you can choose which seat you want and then adjust everything from the passenger side so the passenger can actually turn on the massaging for the driver from this side which is kind of funny then you've got all of your different Comfort settings different screens that you can load up information screens and displays always fun Ferrari did a great job of this basically being the first have this kind of thing and as always they've done it very very nicely good air quality here in the mountains as you can see or back to the the main display but otherwise you've got this Dual Zone if you will the passenger kind of driver's Zone almost or the co-driver Zone we should say and the driver's Zone itself I'm going to just switch it off for the moment and show you in the back of the car and the space that we have available here nearly went for the handle in the wrong place little pull of that it opens up in fact arguably I should go around to the driver's side let me just do that quickly close up the passenger door come all the way around to the other side because with the driver's seat in my position it's always interesting to take a seat behind yourself if you will to see the amount of space that the car offers and this is where it's very impressive there's a lot of space here there's plenty of Headroom more so than in the lasso the roof feels very far above me but one comment I want to make about the glass roof which is an option it's carbon fiber by default it's that up front you don't really get the maximum effect of it as you do in the lasso in the lusso it feels much closer to you so you don't have quite as large a pillow at the top of the windshield which means that you're aware of the glass above you in here you're really not only the rear occupants get to make the most of having that now back here you do have the exact same controller it's not enabled at the moment in fact I can probably just lean through quickly give a press of the button to wake it up and then of course we've got this active and I can show you in the same way or different controls that you have you can do the electrochromic roof from here you have to choose the seat that you want so you actually have to go in there and then choose on that display which sheet you want to control again a little bit fiddly take some getting used to but once you've got it it's going to work fine we've currently got some water bottles in here but if you pop those out you can fold that away over the top of those cup holders and you've got a little bit of storage again with a wireless charging pad and some USBC ports now you might be wondering about the folding system I'm going to show you that in a moment because from here you would not necessarily realize that all of this folds open but you can have some storage available back there so let me hop out some pockets in the back and come and show you a little bit more of that as somebody who likes to travel a lot and likes to use a practical support car you can imagine luggage is certainly something we need to talk about now in here you've got a the wheel of this well firstly you feel like you're driving F12 812 you feel like you're driving a Ferrari Super GT you feel like you're driving something really really special and remember this is on winter tires on summer Tires it will be even more connected to the ground and feel even more as it should so to speak on these it squirrels and squirms around a little bit as I've been experiencing today soundtrack a little bit muted compared to some of the others but as is the way with regulations of course this is let's say launch specification with the V12 we expect that a hybridized V6 will probably arrive maybe other engine derivatives as well a little bit more down the line but my experience of this today has been long live the V12 to still have a car like this a quick word about the dimensions which I find quite interesting as well it's five centimeters longer than a lasso so that two inches it's four centimeters wider and only 20 centimeters taller that's something you don't necessarily think about it's only eight centimeters taller than an Audi A6 all road for example to give you a comparison it's a slightly lifted Next Generation lasso and you can see what Ferrari have been going for with it and now having driven it it drives in that way as well obviously significant enhancements and generational step changes with the the suspension system with the dampers working with multimatic who have quite the reputation with this kind of thing as well and that translates so I would certainly enjoy a Nurburgring lap or something like that with mine down the line so we might have to see if that's going to happen but for today despite the cold and the cloudier than desired weather it's still been an awesome drive out with the new Ferrari for a sangware first experience of a future schmee mobile so it's not going to be too long until I can reveal all the details about the spec of mine along the V12 as I said cold start out of that one right now sounds cool doesn't it the spec and when it's going to be arriving but I'm certainly planning some big things ahead with the purusangway in the Shmi reveals that's it for now though thank you very much for
