OwlCrate Unboxing _ DYSTOPIA

I'm so excited to finally unbox my April Alo Crate box, it's been sitting on my desk for weeks and I just can't wait to dive in. As I open the box, I see that it's not what I expected at all - instead of a typical box design, there are little footprints leading up to the main attraction. The actual book is so pretty, it reminds me of the original Delirium cover where you take off the cover and there's actually a girl underneath. This one has a similar vibe, it's transparent and I can see the background. It looks stunning.

The book is Flawed by Cecilia Aaron, which I've been wanting to check out for a while now. I'm not really sure what it's about yet, so let me take a look at the summary. The summary says that Celestine North lives a perfect life - she's a model daughter and sister, well-liked by her classmates and teachers, and dating the impossibly charming art kin. But then she makes an instinctive decision that breaks a rule, and now she faces life-changing repercussions. She could be imprisoned, branded, or even flawed in a world where perfection is paramount and flaws lead to punishment. This sounds really interesting - I haven't read many dystopian books lately, so this will be a nice change of pace.

As I flip through the book, I find that it comes with a little poster of the cover, which I think is really cool. There's also a note from the author, but unfortunately, you can't see what it says on camera. I'm intrigued - I love getting little extras like this in my boxes. The design of the book itself is just stunning - it reminds me of how some books are designed to be works of art. I really appreciate how much thought went into creating a cover that's both beautiful and eye-catching.

But what's inside the box is just as exciting as the book itself! There's a little tattoo with the cover design on it, which is such a cool touch. It feels like you're getting a little bonus feature with this box. I'm also really excited to use all of the other items - there's a coaster, a notebook, and even a Hunger Games bracelet that I've been eyeing. The bracelet is so cool - it looks just like the one from The Hunger Games, and I can see why they chose it for the box.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this month's Alo Crate box. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into curating items that are not only high-quality but also beautiful and functional. I love how all of the items feel usable - whether it's something you can actually use every day or just a decorative item to brighten up your space. And the theme of this month's box, dystopian, is really interesting - I'm excited to dive into Flawed and see how it compares to some of my other favorite dystopian books.

If any of you are thinking of trying out Alo Crate for the first time, I highly recommend it. The quality of everything in the box is just top-notch, from the beautiful design of the book to the functional items like the coaster and notebook. It's clear that the team at Alo Crate puts a lot of thought into creating boxes that will delight and inspire readers. And even though I've never tried out the service before, it feels like they really know what they're doing.

I also love how some of you are commenting about your favorite bookish subscription box or whether you'd want to try making your own one if given the chance. That's such a great idea - I think there's definitely potential for creativity and innovation in the world of subscription boxes. Who knows, maybe one day we'll see a steampunk-themed box that's just full of amazing goodies and surprises. Until then, I'm excited to see what Alo Crate has in store for us next month.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe are once again in my kitchen because the lighting in my room sucks hey guys it's Hannah and today I am filming one of my very favorite types of videos to film and that is an unboxing and in this video we are going to be unboxing the April box for owl crate so the lovely people over at ow crate contacted me this month and asked me if I would like to receive the April box and do an unboxing for you guys on my channel here and I of course said yes because a I love unboxing videos and B I love bookish subscription boxes so this was a no-brainer most of you have probably heard of Al crate or other bookish subscription boxes before but for those of you who don't know owl crate is a bookish subscription box that sends out one new ya book every single month as well as some bookish goodies and it's always just a surprise you never know what you're going to get but each box has a theme this month's theme is dystopia so all the things in here are supposed to be dystopian themed I'm going to guess that there's some like Hunger Games inspired stuff in here maybe some Maze Runner I don't know I have no idea what's inside I've been avoiding spoilers I will leave links to all of Al crate's information like their website where you can subscribe frequently asked questions all of that will be in the description box in case you're interested and want to check out Al crate for yourself so without any further Ado because I'm dying to know what is in here let's get into the unboxing those of you who have watched my other unboxing videos will probably know how terrible I am at opening boxes but this was just like one piece of tape tape and then it just like opens out with a flap I like the Simplicity I really appreciate that all right and now we are opening it this is exciting I really like this box I like this aesthetic there's like confetti inside I love this all right so the first thing that I'm seeing in here is this little card that I think tells you everything that is in here so I'm not going to look at this until the end because I don't want to be spoiled for what's in the box so the very first thing that I'm seeing in here is this little thing right here I don't know what it is exactly yet it says I spent my life folded between the pages of books what is that a quote from I know what that is from okay so I just looked at the thing and it's a quote from Shatter Me that's why I recognize it and it's a coaster that makes a lot more sense personally I wasn't a very big fan of the Shatter Me trilogy but this is actually really pretty and the quote is really nice and I will definitely actually get some use out of this because I can put it on my bedside table and actually put my glasses on it instead of leaving water stains all over the table so the next thing that I'm seeing in here is this little notebook that says 1984 by George Orwell I've actually really been wanting to read this book for a long time but this notebook is absolutely adorable it's just full of blank white paper so it's not lined or anything but it's a great little like pocket thing that you could just put in your bag or wherever you're going if you ever have to write down a quick note um I really love these types of things and I love notebooks and journals so this is this is pretty great the next thing that I'm seeing in here is in this little bag and from from the looks of it it looks like a Hunger Games bracelet and that is just awesome so yes this is a little Hunger Games Mocking J pin bracelet and it's very cute I actually don't have any Hunger Games themed jewelry which is kind of weird for me because I have like a lot of fandom jewelry but I don't have anything Hunger Games themed but now I do so that's very cool there's also a little card in here for the geeky cauldron that has a coupon code on the back for 10% off which is awesome I've checked out the geeky cauldron before and they have so much cool like fandom jewelry and stuff and I am a sucker for that so I'm definitely going to be going on there and seeing if there's anything I like so the next thing in here is this little sticker or decal I think that's what it is and um it says property of wicked which I know is from The Maze Runner I haven't read the books but I've watched the movie because Dylan O'Brien but this also has a 20% off coupon for Shaye and design which I'm assuming is where this decal is from so you can go on there and look at their different designs and pick and choose which decal you want to use that rhymed I am a poet wow okay so the next thing I am seeing in here is this little magnet and it's from Half Blood Prince which is just that is the best name I have ever heard but it is just this magnet with this little mocking J design on it I love it it's going on the side of my fridge oh okay so the next thing in here is this little poster right here which is very pretty and it has a quote on it and it says the stars filled with cold old light and secrets held no emotion in their fixed language of Fate emotion belonged to life a thing the Stars could never experience I not the Starlight shaped my decisions from the Star touched Queen I have heard several very good things about that book and I've been wanting to check it out for a while now and this is just very pretty so if I get the book and I read it and I end up liking it this is going to go on my wall or on display on my shelf or something because it's very pretty but I feel weird displaying it since I haven't read the book yet okay so finally we are at the most exciting part of the unboxing the book and the book for this month's box is flawed by Cecilia Aaron okay so the book comes with this little poster of the cover and then also this little note from the author I don't think you guys can really see that on camera but that's really cool I have no idea what it says I'm going to read this later this cover reminds me so much of the original delirium cover where you take off the cover and there's actually a girl underneath and this is very similar like you can see it it's so cool like this is transparent I I love this A+ cover design so obviously I know that this book is dystopian since this month's theme is dystopian but I really don't know what this book is about so let's read the summary so the summary says Celestine North lives a perfect life she's a model daughter and sister she's well-liked by her classmates and teachers and she's dating the impossibly Charming art kin but then she encounters a situation in which she makes an instinctive decision she breaks a rule and now faces life-changing repercussions she could be imprisoned she could be branded she could be flawed in her breathtaking young adult debut best-selling author cilia Aaron depicts a society in which Perfection is Paramount and flaws lead to punishment and where one young woman decides to take a stand that could cost her everything that sounds pretty interesting that definitely sounds very dystopian I actually haven't read very much dystopian lately and I don't really have any dystopian currently on my shelves that is unread so this will be interesting for me to pick up because I'm wondering how I'm going to feel about it because dystopian is not really my favorite genre it used to be a while ago but like I said I haven't really been into it lately so maybe this will change that for me maybe I will read this and pick it up and really enjoy it and then I'll just want to read some more distopian hopefully that's the case oh also I just opened the book and I found this little tattoo inside as well so you get a little tattoo with the cover design on it as well which is cool all right guys so that is everything that was in the April owl crpe box overall I really enjoyed this box I thought all of the items were very high quality and a lot of them were very usable I think there's a tendency with some subscription boxes that you get some items that you'll just never end up using and you'll just toss in some corner or in some drawer but I really think that all of these were pretty usable like I know that if nothing else I'm going to get use out of this coaster and I'm going to get use out of this notebook like these are just very general usable things which I really appreciate also personally I'm super excited about this Hunger Games bracelet because I'm planning another bookish lookbook and spoiler alert The Hunger Games is going to be included in that one so keep your eye out for this bracelet because it will very likely make an appearance so yeah if you are looking for a subscription box to try out and haven't tried out Alo crate yet I highly recommend them they have very high quality stuff all of it is pretty usable and also it's just so aesthetically pleasing I mean like seriously look at this box like the little Footprints and then on the inside like it's so cute it's just so cute so let me know in the comments down below if you are subscribed to Al crate what was your favorite item in this month's box or what has been your favorite box in the past because I know they've had some really cool themes in the past and next month's theme is steampunk which just sounds fantastic and if you're not subscribed to Al crate let me know what your favorite bookish subscription box is or if you are not really a fan of subscription boxes then let me know if you were to make your own subscription box what would its theme be and what would be in it I want to see who can come up with like the coolest idea for a subscription box because I feel like there's a lot of potential there so thank you guys so much for watching this video I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in my next video bye but it has that sort of quality to it that you kind of question how this world could even exist without magic in itwe are once again in my kitchen because the lighting in my room sucks hey guys it's Hannah and
