How to Change Your Splash Screen on Android Devices with 320x480 Resolution

If you have an Android device with a resolution of 320x480, such as the G1, I Touch Hero, or Galaxy, and want to change your splash screen, this is the guide for you. Before we begin, make sure you have checked if your device has this resolution by looking it up online. If you're not sure, click on the link provided in the address bar of the Unlocker Calm website that says "How to Change Your Splash Screen Procedure" to find out more.

To start, you need to have root access on your phone. This means you've already gone through our "How to Root" and "How to Load a Custom ROM" guides for your specific device. With these steps completed and having a custom ROM installed along with root access, you can proceed with changing your splash screen. It's also recommended to set up a TV setup or any fastboot setup, which is why the link provided in the address bar will take you through the process of setting up a TV.

Before we begin, it's essential to check our SPL list to ensure that the version matches any listed on the site. To do this, turn off your phone and press and hold down the back and power buttons until Fastboot comes up. Look at the top part of the screen for a bunch of writing, specifically the "H Boot" version. If it matches any versions listed on our site, you're good to go; otherwise, you can still continue using some ice fields that might not be compatible with your specific device.

Now, let's move on to creating your custom splash image if you prefer not to use pre-made ones. Click on the link provided in the address bar to download the Splash Crater software. Once downloaded, right-click and extract all files from the package. Double-click on one of the generated files within the folder to open it, and then click "Create" to begin the process. You can select any image you want by clicking "Open" at the bottom of the window and then hit "Convert" to save it as a splash image.

To proceed with flashing your custom splash image, make sure you have renamed it to include ".flash" for easier access. Copy the file into the Android SDK folder we set up for ADB. Open a command prompt by clicking on Start Menu and typing CMD + V. Write down the last word from the website where we got our SPL version (e.g., "five six five") followed by your custom image name to create a new file that includes this information.

Now, it's time to turn off your phone and press back and power until Fastboot mode appears on the screen. Plug in a USB cable into your device; you should see "Fast-food" listed on the screen. Open another command prompt using CMD + V and type what was written in the previous step followed by the name of your custom splash image to flash it.

Finally, with your custom splash image flashed successfully onto your Android device's 320x480 resolution screen, press back and power until Fastboot mode disappears from the screen. Rebooting your phone should now display your new custom splash screen; you're all set!
