**Retro Console Gaming on PC: Emulation and Experience**
PCSX2 is an amazing emulator that has all the actual drivers and stuff built into the download, which is really nice. You just need to find some ROMs online (which I won't recommend doing) and unpack them, load them into PCSX2, and it works like a PS2. It's really awesome.
**Setting Up Emulation**
When setting up emulation, you'll often encounter difficulties in getting everything going the way you want it to. This is especially true for those who aren't into tinkering with settings. With PCSX2, I found that using the DirectX 9 API was necessary for Super Mario games to run half-decently.
**Testing Emulation**
I decided to test PCSX2 by trying out a PS2 emulator and replaying God of War. The experience was nostalgic, bringing back memories of playing games as a kid. However, I noticed that some of the widescreen effects were not implemented correctly, causing the game to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
**Playing PS2 Games**
When I started playing Shadow of the Colossus, I was impressed by the smooth performance of PCSX2. The controls felt familiar, although it took me a while to adjust to them at first. This emulator is perfect for retro console gaming enthusiasts who want to enjoy their favorite games without dealing with terrible Smart TV functionality.
**Challenges and Future Plans**
One challenge I encountered was finding an ITX motherboard that wasn't sold out. However, I'm happy to report that PCSX2 works well on my current PC setup, and it's become a permanent fixture in my home theater. Until next time, thank you for watching!

it never works out very well for some reason I'm always surprised that like an Apple toaster doesn't want to run console emulation software but I finally found a solution to the problem and not only does it satisfy my desire for a retro gaming console box it also does things like Netflix streaming and Plex streaming very well which is good because the Smart TV functionality of the Sony that we have is really terrible it's like a bipolar donkey it's just all over the place and then it refuses to do stuff and then it just crashes whereas replacing it with a proper Windows PC will probably be just as unstable I only have three pretty basic requirements of this build the first one it needs to be powerful enough to emulate up to Playstation 2 era games which that's not asking too much of it the second is it needs to be really small which this bill does very well and in the third thing is it needs to have the wife acceptance factor when it comes to the home entertainment system now the exact name of the case is the Lea only it's not the Lindy I always mistakenly for n1 it's the in win b1 and it's very small it doesn't have space for any PCI Express expansion so your only real realistic option is an AMD APU and it's also only got a 200 watt power supply but that is included in the package so that's that's pretty cool I think the case looks pretty nice and it should fit in with like a home theater setup and it's actually been awarded the most difficult to receive daughter does text of award which is the ANA approval award her response when I first showed it to her was actually he doesn't look at that terrible which that's some pretty high praise if you ask me it's got a tempered glass top that's very dark so you can't really see any cable management issues inside and it's actually attached to the plastic shroud surrounding it so it means that the panel gaps are very even and it looks very nice to open it up there are these two little pin things that you push up after undoing two screws and then it just pops off this was one of the easiest cases I've built in in a very long time you just assemble your ITX system outside you drop it into place screw it in and plug a couple of stuff in there was no real cable management to be done and no real hassle it's not a particularly complicated system so if it was difficult to build in one would really be marked down on it but it was very pleasant to build the in 1b one does come with an 80 millimeter exhaust fan which is very loud at a hundred percent speed but if you use a custom fan curve then everything goes pretty well let's get to the specs of the system that I used as far as the APU goes I used a 3200 G which is a perfect match for this system considering that it only has a 200 watt power supply in it and yeah it's still powerful enough to stream all of your videos and movies and stuff and you can emulate ps2 games with it supposedly according to other people on the internet as far as RAM goes I'm using 16 gigs of DDR 430 600 megahertz although I had issues with my trade is ESET which didn't work properly and then I switched over to my Corsair set of ROM which worked but it wasn't stable until I down clocked at two thirty two hundred megahertz where everything was fine as far as storage goes I have an m2 500 gig SATA Drive in there and then the motherboard is an Asus x4 70 ITX x4 70 I ITX board which which looks pretty good and yeah there's not really much more to say specs wise as far as performance goes you've probably seen hundreds of 3200 GT build so I'm not going to go into too much detail but you can comfortably run eSports titles at low settings at 1080p or if you want a slightly higher framerate you can drop it to 720p as you can see here csgo dota and even GTA v runs except ibly on this system but that's not really what I'm interested in I want to use it as a game emulator /ht pc now when it comes to the emulator performance I do just want to put a disclaimer over here roms are bad and emulating Hertz Nintendo and Sony's feelings so if you're thinking of doing it don't i started off using retroarch which works very well when you're using things like Super Nintendo emulator of course and running games like Super Mario on it works well which I'll show you in a little bit however I was having some problems with the ps2 emulator core in retro orange now I'm sure you can set it up in a way that it works but that is something that I will say about retroarch it does have a lot of functionality built into it but it is not very user-friendly you need to know what you're doing and play to set everything up before it works and I am way too impatient for that I want to install the thing and have it do the thing that I wanted to do and for that pcsx2 I think is what the emulator is called is amazing it's got all of the actual drivers and stuff built into the download which is really nice you just need to find some some roms online which again Northy very bad don't do that but once you find some wrongs you just unpack it you load it into it and it works like a ps2 it's really awesome I think after having outlined all of that let's have a look at how all of this actually worked on my TV living room setup okay here we have some some Super Nintendo going this is obviously not very difficult to emulate I think oh we got slo-mo Super Mario going on so this is definitely because of the emulator settings I guess I need to set all of that stuff up that's one of the things to bear in mind with using with using emulators is that it's usually a bit of a pain in the butt to get everything going the way that you needed to so if you're not into tinkering oh yeah this is probably not for you because I could also use a different a different emulator for Super Nintendo roms are really easy to find so it's one of the reasons so we've got maybe we should do a cura maybe we should do balanced instead I mean again it's it's a bit better than the previous setup but it's it's it's still not ideal yeah there we go this is how it's supposed to be running okay so apparently you need to use the DirectX 9 API as whoa whoa okay that actually worked you need to ah there we go finally so apparently you need to use the diode X 9 API for Super Mario at least to run half decently which way are you gonna go yeah so you can play Super Nintendo games which you know I think I think a calculator can play Super Nintendo games so what we're gonna do oh thank you that was it that was a nice sneaky little upgrade but yeah I think a more challenging test would be a ps2 emulator which is something that I'd really like to do to use because I do actually want to replay God of War so with that let's try out some some ps2 emulation on this bad boy I mean that just brings back memories doesn't it oh wow this is this is getting nostalgic very quickly oof we've got some we've got a little bit of widescreen is supposed to non-widescreen battling happening here this is so nostalgic this makes me feel like I'm 12 again but I guess the cinematics are all going to be in four by three and then it'll change over to sixteen by nine for the gameplay it looks like a ps2 game oh yeah it's running it's running really smoothly woof oh yeah but look at that we got smooth ps2 performance I haven't played this and what happens if I grab this dude oh yeah I can just punch him ah just good old gratuitous violence I mean yeah the whole jumping between the two aspect ratios is a little bit annoying but I'm sure you can figure that out in the actual emulator okay so this is almost definitely the best game on the ps2 let's see how it runs Shadow of the Colossus there we go and now we need to go rescue some well we actually need to go kill some beasts to rescue the lady that's asleep the horse is an unwieldy beast in this game no turn around what's what's okay yeah yeah there we go okay so now I can go forward right yes I don't remember struggling this much with the controls when I first played it but this is awesome it means you can do some retro console gaming while also using it as a way to watch Netflix and stuff on your on your TV so that you don't have to deal with the terrible Smart TV functionality on like a Sony for example so as far as an HD PC slash retro console goes I think I'm very happy with this
