Windows 9 - The OS Microsoft WON'T Tell You About!

The Existence of Windows 9: A Custom-Built OS That Defies Microsoft's Official Release

Imagine that there exists a version of Windows that you can't find anywhere on Microsoft's website. One that won't track your online activities, one that is optimized for speed and reliability, and one that performs better than Windows 7 or Windows 10. This may sound like the stuff of myths, but it's actually based on an unofficial custom-built OS called Windows 9.

Microsoft's official reasoning for releasing Windows 9 was to improve upon its predecessors, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. However, we know better. The Master Pro keyboard lineup is available in three sizes, each in white or RGB flavors. Check them out at the link below now.

According to Microsoft, Windows 9's release was intended to be a major improvement over its predecessors. But we've discovered that there's an unofficial custom-built OS based on Windows 8.1 that has taken things to the next level. This is Windows 9, also known as "Windows Nine" or "Windows 9," which applies extensive modifications to make it look and feel like Windows 7.

Windows 9 is an embedded OS designed for use in payment terminals, digital signage, or other industrial applications. It's intended to be more streamlined than the standard version of Windows 8.1, with fewer services running by default. Despite its improved performance, Windows 9 still looks and feels like a genuine Windows operating system.

Underneath the hood, Windows 9 is a powerhouse, with features like SMB3, DISM recovery tools, better memory management, and a newer file copy dialog. It also supports speed shift technology, which can significantly improve gaming performance. However, this means that users may need to invest in new hardware or drivers to take full advantage of these features.

The creators of Windows 9 have taken the operating system to new heights by optimizing it for better performance and user experience. But despite their efforts, Windows 9 didn't quite live up to our expectations. In fact, we were surprised to find that even the custom-built version of Windows 9 couldn't outperform some other operating systems.

To put this into perspective, let's look at a few examples. When it comes to gaming performance, Windows 9 was able to keep pace with some of its competitors, but not all of them. In fact, we found that some operating systems were able to outperform Windows 9 in certain situations.

In addition to gaming performance, we also tested system performance by transferring files over a 10-gigabit LAN network. Surprisingly, Windows 7 was able to hold its own against the custom-built version of Windows 9, despite having older hardware.

Finally, we looked at PC Mark to see how each operating system performed in terms of overall system performance. Again, we were surprised to find that Windows 7 was able to outperform Windows 9 in this test as well.

So what does all this mean? The short answer is that even the custom-built version of Windows 9 didn't quite live up to our expectations. But it's also worth noting that there are some benefits to running an operating system like Windows 9, particularly when it comes to user experience and privacy features.

If you're interested in trying out a custom-built version of Windows 9 or learning more about the process of creating one, we've got some tips for you. The short answer is that it's not as easy as it sounds, but with the right tools and knowledge, anyone can create their own custom operating system.

This was not trivialbut with the help of a few free tools and resourcesWe made it work the first of these was a windows 7 styled theme for windows 10 by Deviantart user sagorpirbdOk, I don't know next we installed Aero glass a free tool. That does what it says on the tinOh, shinyWe followed that with classic Shell a well-knownAlternative start menu and theme utility which with a few tweaks to its settings and a couple of community provided texturesGives us our windows 7 start button start menu and taskbarMostly then we still needed taskbar tweaker to make our show desktop button look right and then while we're at itOldo explorer does a great job of restoring the Windows 7 style explorer lookFinally uxstyle community edition unlocks the theme we installed earlier to complete the lookAll it took from there were a couple registry tweaks aWindows 7of courseWindows 9 is more than just a pretty face it also disables windows phone homeFunctionality some services and some other miscellaneous nonsense, so we followed their lead and disabled the same itemsNow while we can't guarantee that our windows9.5 has all of the tweaks windows 9 does the key ones are all in thereYou can find the full details of the registry and telemetry tweaks in the blog post on our forums linked belowSo how do we know we've succeeded?Well we use our RGB test bench and three separate Kingston KC400 Terabyte ssds each one was secured erased then loaded with Windows 7 Windows 9 and Windows 10So we could perform the best possible apples to ApplesThen we ran our tests multiple times on each windows and our own 9.5Mod the results honestly weren't quite what we were expecting in rise of the tomb Raiderwe can see that compared to Windows 7 Windows 9 scored almost identically on average while windows 10 and9.5 were basically identicalOkay moving on to deus Ex mankind divided. We can see that windows 9 actually flunked the testYeah, no matter what we did square Enix's drmTriggered every time on 9 but otherwise our results were basically the sameSkylines showed off better CPU performance in 10 and9.5 with a tangible boost of 5 to 6 frames per secondLikely down to support for intel speed-shift technology on our Kabe lake platform and then rounding out our gaming tests Crysis 3Brings us back to basically a wash across the os is tested todayThis is starting to feel like workshop videoNext we tested system performance starting with a networked file transfer over 10 gigabit LANThis one was actually pretty surprising because windows 7 held its own against our newer operating systems in spite of SmB3.0,even when testing with groups of smaller and mixed size filesPc Mark However tells a very different storyWindows 7 was blown away by all our other operating systems with 9 sandwiched in the middleinterestingly that trend continued through our final ATTOI/O benchmark where windows 7 was handily beaten byEverything else the windows 10 edge over 9 wasn't something we'd expected to see going into these tests today, but there it isso then is it worth tracking down the unicorn license for 8.1 embedded orNavigating the labyrinths and depths of Deviantart the short answer by the numbers isNo, even windows 9 didn't perform as well as we expected it to the long answer though has a lot in common with ourdoes$1000 perform better the video.
