The Hating Game Movie Reaction _ Chanmas Day 11

**Reading Experience: A Review of "The Hating Game"**

I recently had the pleasure of reading and watching videos about "The Hating Game" by Gianna. This novel tells the story of two characters, Cressida and King, who engage in a competitive banter that gradually turns into a romance. One of my favorite aspects of this book is the way it portrays their relationship. The tension between them is palpable, and their interactions are full of wit and sarcasm.

As I read through the pages, I couldn't help but feel a sense of hesitation and resistance from Cressida. She's not comfortable with the fact that King is her student, and she's trying to maintain a professional distance between them. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings for each other become harder to ignore. I appreciate how the author handles this sensitive topic, avoiding any kind of insta-love or instant attraction.

One thing that struck me about this book is the emphasis on King's appearance. His blonde hair and blue eyes are mentioned multiple times throughout the novel, often in a way that feels a bit excessive. While it's understandable that these physical characteristics might contribute to the attraction between Cressida and King, I found myself feeling a bit overwhelmed by the constant mentions of them.

Despite this minor quibble, I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Hating Game". The author does an excellent job of capturing the complexities of human relationships, particularly in the context of power dynamics. The way Cressida navigates her feelings for King is nuanced and realistic, and their romance feels authentic and earned. As someone who values honest portrayals of complex emotions, I found this book to be a delight.

**The Readathon Update**

As I approach the 50 mark of "The Hating Game", I'm feeling a sense of excitement and trepidation. With only a few days left in my readathon, I'm determined to finish this book before it's too late. The novel has been a consistent source of entertainment, and I'm eager to see how Cressida and King's story unfolds.

In related news, I've been listening to the audiobook version of "The Way of Kings", which is another book I purchased last year but never got around to reading. With only 50 pages left to go, I'm feeling a sense of hope that I'll be able to finish this book before my readathon ends.

**A Message from the Author**

Before I wrap up this article, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge Gianna, the author behind "The Hating Game". Her writing has been a joy to experience, and I appreciate her commitment to crafting complex, engaging characters. As someone who values honesty in storytelling, I admire how she tackles difficult topics like power dynamics and attraction.

**A Word from the Author (Again)**

As I wrap up this article, I'd like to apologize for any frustration my previous video may have caused. It seems that my reaction to the movie adaptation of "The Hating Game" was a bit... enthusiastic. In retrospect, I can see how some aspects of my review might have been perceived as cheesy or over-the-top.

In all seriousness, however, I'm glad to be back and sharing my thoughts on this wonderful book. If you're a fan of romance novels or are simply looking for a compelling read, I highly recommend "The Hating Game". And if you'll excuse me, I have some reading to catch up on – specifically, the next 50 pages of "The Way of Kings"!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello besties welcome back to my channel hope y'all are doing good i can't seem to catch a break i am in bed with a little bit of crampage and i'm just looking for some comfort you know what i mean like i just want to eat chocolate i want to read cozy books and i want to watch the hating game so that's what i'm gonna do today i'm very excited about it i hope you're excited about it too it's like 3 30 on a friday and i am just chilling and i'm ready to do some stuff you know i'm gonna be honest with you i don't really want to read at this present moment but it feels a little weird to start a movie when the sun's not down but i'm just gonna like go with the whole it's the summer before first grade and my mom's taking me to a disney movie matinee vibe anyway i think i'm just gonna watch the hating game now and give you my reactions i'm not gonna spoil the movie for anyone who like i guess thinks they're spoilers to a movie that is about a book that's been out for i don't know four or five years but i'm just gonna react to it and let you know how i like it okay and then i think what i'm gonna do is read this is honestly the worst intro i probably have ever made for a video my apologies i think i'm gonna try to read under the whispering door by tj cloon this is one of the books that i told myself i was going to read before the year is over and it fits the prompt of read a cozy book for mary and bright read-a-thon of which it is day two so i'm gonna do that i might read some atlas six will i update you on this vlog about it probably not because i am reading it for my reading your best books of the year video and might i say y'all did a fantastic job at recommending books to me i've only had a couple of duds most of those books have been four or five stars thank you and i think this is gonna be a four five star read and i just want to read it even though it's for another video so hope y'all are along for the ride with me okay i'm 13 minutes in and i love this i don't care i don't care if it's not like totally like the book which to be honest it kind of it is just like the book in my opinion and there is dialogue directly from the book as well which i appreciate um but no this is really cute the actors have chemistry in my personal opinion and i'm i love it but i'm also not one of those people who is like it has to be word for word just like the book otherwise it's not good like that's just not really my experience i honestly kind of prefer when there's slight deviation because then it makes it something else and it's more interesting like if i wanted the entire story to be identical i'd just read the book so anyway that's my rant um this is so cute i really like it i really like it also the scene on the elevator with the person from hr made me crack up so yes this is this is good and i don't care what you say okay um they're in the elevator and i thought i could do uh a live reaction i'm gonna mute the audio obviously because copyright but i'll play some like really good music and you can just watch my face well my only complaint is that the music choice i didn't love to be honest with you i kind of wish there hadn't been any music because tension in the dialogue leading up to the scene if you've read the book you know what i'm talking about the make out scene in the elevator was so good like the tension with no music very good the kiss was also good but i wish there had been no music although i have like two music choices up until this point so i mean it's not that i hate the music it's just like better without the music there's a certain um series of movies that we all enjoy and watch whenever we're depressed that also has a kiss scene with no music to it which i think made it more impactful if you know you know anyway that's my two cents i'm gonna make people mad maybe i don't know i don't really care um i'm 50 in and i love it i literally love it so much some other random is cut out from the book some of the stuff that like i didn't like so i'm loving that overall i mean it's just a very true adaptation i feel like people were bitching whenever i saw like trailer reactions about how josh isn't supposed to smile and like he doesn't so don't worry about it yeah i'm gonna be watching this movie like way too much this is gonna be my new comfort rom-com so i love it i'm so excited for like the wedding and i just know it's gonna be good i know it's gonna be good okay the lighting is much worse because the sun just set but it was so cute like i needed that today i'm so glad i watched that and i don't want to say it's like my favorite movie of the year but i think it is also i haven't watched that many movies this year so that's not really much of an accomplishment but i loved this i thought it was fantastic i thought they had so much chemistry i enjoyed every second of it and i don't care what you say because i know there's gonna be people in the comments saying like it wasn't that good but like i liked it so i don't care i'm definitely gonna be rewatching this like a million different times and it's a new comfort movie for me so love to see it i also saw somewhere that the un honeymooners is being made into a movie which also down for can we get more romance novel adaptations i feel like romance authors do a better job than screenwriters do writing their own stuff so hats off to whoever made this fantastic job really good really good stuff so um happy i happy i did that happy i watched that um got the lighting's really bad i guess i'm going to read under the is it a whispering door yeah that is what it is okay so i'm gonna listen to that i guess okay i switched locations hopefully the lighting's a little better in here i am reading in my office which i actually don't do that much anymore which is sort of tragic because it's like very cozy and christmasy in here but i feel like since i do so much work and like filming sit down videos and editing in here i just don't like spending more time in here than i actually have to so i'm never really in here but i am posted up in my comfy chair and i decided actually to pick up a lesson in corruption is that the name of it uh it's the first book in the fallen men series by gianna darling and i am loving it i tried to pick up the tj cloon book and i'm just gonna be honest like i just was not in the mood for that i like tj's writing a lot but i just didn't really want to read about a character going on a journey like that you know what i mean like someone who's like kind of mean and has a bad attitude finally like becoming nice i don't know i just like was not in the mood for that but this i am very much in the mood for and you know what this is my kind of cozy read like a good romance is my kind of comfy read so that's what i'm gonna do for the cozy read category for like the reading challenges this is it uh so basically this story is about cressida and king i know them from the one book that i've read in the series before actually i might have read too whatever one has the dad i've read that one um this story is about cressida she is a teacher at a school in canadia what the canada canadia i'm dead in canada kind of vancouver-ish area i think or she moved from vancouver regardless she's a teacher at this school and before she kind of starts her new job or a couple days after she goes to a bar and she sees this beautiful man and they have like a night together not like sexually but they definitely have an attraction for each other he says you know bring your car by my shop i'll fix it kind of thing and she finds out that he is her student he's 18 but he's her student and she is like i can't do this like this semi-relationship that we're building not gonna happen let's be honest it's gonna happen and i'm curious to see how they do it i do like that there's a lot of hesitation and a lot of resistance on the part of cressida she's like yeah i don't really know that this is the can you say it please you see right here i'm just gonna let him sit here anyway i like that cressida has objections i feel like i'm fine with pretty much anything in fiction um i don't really mind age gaps and things like that though i would not be okay with these kind of age gaps in real life but i do like that she's having objections to the fact that he's her student like she's not cool with that so i'm hoping that he graduates before anything happens i'm assuming that's probably what's gonna happen because he's a second semester senior so it's like wait a little bit right but i'm having a really good time with it i won't lie i really like gianna's writing i feel like she does a really good job and i will say there are some issues i have with the writing i'm trying to think of exactly what oh i don't really like that king keeps calling her babe a little cheesy it's a little much for me and the emphasis on his eyes and his blonde hair pretty much every time we see him is a bit much too although i will say it does kind of add to this sort of like instant attraction sort of thing that they have going on i was reading in some reviews that people are like oh it's insta love and i don't really see that like there's definitely a lust factor there but he's not proclaiming that like he's in love with her or anything and vice versa so i'm liking it i feel like it's realistic in the way that like you know attraction like that happens so i'm not i'm not mad at it but i'm having a good time like between this and at least six like having a good couple of reading days and i'm glad that i'm just like listening to myself because i feel like i have not been doing that lately uh i've just been reading for videos which is fine sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do but like also just reading for fun that's where it's at and don't tell me i should always read for fun because then we wouldn't have any exciting videos so i'm gonna keep reading this i think i'll probably just update you one more time at the 50 mark i'm not going to finish this book today because it's almost 10 and i'm so tired but it's good and i'm gonna finish it before the readathon's over so yeah uh hopefully i'll finish it tomorrow honestly the next daily vlog i am fingers crossed hoping i can read the way of kings it is a book that i bought last year so i mean i've owned it physically for a while now but i bought the audiobook last year because i was like oh i'll read this soon i did not read it soon well nugget's telling me he wants belly rubs so i'm gonna go do that and i'll be back to teach you one more time i swear to god man every time do you want to come up here do you want to be on camera again every time i pull the damn camera out now gets like oh it's my time and i get it you know he's handsome he wants to be on camera i am 50 into this book i think it's a lesson in corruption um it's still good it's still fun she has had experiences with king cressida has had experiences with king oh my god nugget but they have not gone all the way if you will so i mean is that good is that bad i don't know also king's dad zeus is like yeah i mean he's claimed you as his own so you should just like be with him logically not great it's a fun romance though and i'm having a good time i'm having a good time if you like inhib romance i think you will probably enjoy this book and um whole gangs here apparently so anyway i know this this vlog was something else i'm so good at daily vlogging i think we all know thanks for spending some time with me i hope you appreciated my reaction to the hating game movie i will be back at some point i think the next video is going to be my goodreads video so hopefully that will be more entertaining than this but i love y'all so much and until tomorrow youhello besties welcome back to my channel hope y'all are doing good i can't seem to catch a break i am in bed with a little
