Reset Windows 8 Password with Trinity Rescue Kit

How to Reset Your Windows 8 Password Using Trinity Rescue Kit 3.4

If you've forgotten your Windows 8 password, don't worry! There is a free tool called Trinity Rescue Kit 3.4 that can help you reset your local account password without having to reinstall the operating system. What you need to do is download and burn the software to a CD or use it on a USB flash drive. Once you've booted up the device, select the top option and run Trinity Rescue Kit 3.4 default. Let this load up and check for new hardware.

As soon as the menu system appears, you'll see options open to you. You want to come down to where it says "Windows password resetting" and click on that. Now, you need to choose between two options: when pass with prompt for username first. Click on that option and type in your username. In this case, I'm typing in my username which was "bric". Once I've entered the username, press enter and Mount the drive will be activated.

Now that we have mounted the drive, you can see the available Windows drives. Select one for your sda2 Windows, as this is where all the accounts are loaded. The option should say "clear feature" which you'll use to unmount that drive now. Type in number one and press any key to continue. You've changed it, so now we can reset our system by going back to home menu, coming all the way down to reboot, and letting Windows load up.

As soon as Windows loads up, you should be able to log in without having to put a password in. This is because the Trinity Rescue Kit 3.4 has successfully reset your local account password for you.
