CES Gear: What's In My Bag?

The Humor Behind CES Bags

In a lighthearted moment during the live streaming of a tech event, the host couldn't resist making a joke about their bag. "It's just cool because I can keep my MacBook Air and iPad camera lenses and accessories all in here," they said with a smile. "And it's small enough where like I can carry around all day long, put underneath the airline seat." The host patted themselves on the back for having a sleek and organized bag, one that could fit their entire tech setup without breaking a sweat.

However, things took a playful turn when they claimed to have a special "CES bag" that was only for those who were "cool enough" to attend the event. "You don't get one of these," they teased. "You're not cool enough." The host's humility was palpable, and it was clear that they were just joking around with their audience.

The conversation continued on Twitter, where the host asked their followers if they had any questions about CES or technology in general. One question that stood out was whether people edit videos at the event itself or at the hotel room. The host's answer was that they usually edit at the hotel room by 2-3 pm, as editing on-site would be too crowded and chaotic.

Another lighthearted moment came when a Twitter user jokingly asked who was taller between the host and a guest. To everyone's surprise, the guest revealed that she is actually 7 feet tall! The host sheepishly admitted that they are not very tall either. The conversation continued with a humorous exchange about traveling and editing videos on iPads.

In another section of the live stream, the host discussed their approach to CES coverage. "We're going to be doing lots and lots of CES coverage starting tomorrow," they announced. "Prob through the next I don't know how long a while." The host assured their audience that they would have plenty of time to showcase all the cool new tech products and gadgets on display at the event.

Finally, the host invited their followers to share any specific questions or topics they'd like to see covered during CES. "Let us know drop a comment down below," they said. "We'll do our best one of us or both of us will try to go and do a video on you know if you want to see a really cool new TV that's been announced or anything like that." With that, the host bid farewell to their audience, promising to catch them next time.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys this is Austin and staying here live at CES 2012 in Las Vegas with hey I'm Ellie from appat what's up and so basically what we're going to be doing is going over some of our CES gear so of course we're going to be doing the show it's a huge show it's what like 3 four days something like that from today's the first day but we're not we're being cool and doing a video on a Gear instead of sitting around in press conf we have five guys instead of going two press conferences was awesome but yeah so we're going to go over some of our gear we're also going to take some questions so we jumped out on Twitter and asked some of you guys like hey what do you want to know about CEs and all that kind of stuff so we're also going to answer some questions so yeah let's do it a really important thing when you're at CES is having a laptop so what are you rocking I'm rocking just a baseline 13-inch MacBook Pro with this pretty sweet that's so cool that's cool yeah it's cool if you want to get it just Google you know Iron Man MacBook uh decal yeah so Baseline MacBook Pro editing with Final Cut Pro X nice uh I am using a MacBook Air 11 in um I love this I actually am more of a PC guy like at home like my main rig is a PC that I've built but uh as far as editing and stuff goes I love using the MacBook Air it's so tiny and thin and the 11 in it doesn't take up any room like I walk around do yeah I walk around on the show floor all day long with this in my bag not a big deal like that's that's a guys weigh something right it's pretty yeah it does add to the backpack you feel that at the end of the day yeah it's it's good I mean it's got a lot of power these are pretty pretty up to standard it's not bad seriously I had all 1080p video on this uh and I add it on Premier Adobe premere CS6 I'm not I'm not a Pro X material yet maybe next year yeah that's good covering CES microphones are also a really huge deal especially for us since we do video um of course like pretty much any kind of camera camcorder has a microphone built in but CES is so noisy mean what like 150,000 people mean all at one time like on the like around you but there's still tons of people super loud booths music all that kind of stuff so it really does pay to have some different kind of options to get some sound cuz if you guys don't want you know just video with no audio you hear us going hey guys so yeah so I have a couple microphones um I have this Sennheiser uh G3 Evolution pack so this is a wireless mic so you guys ever see like a clip to like a shirt or something I'll be using this tomorrow and probably all week long basically it's just a little mic that Clips here so it's just a lot closer to your uh to your face so it kind of picks it up better and then just yeah it's nice and just this goes and clips onto my back pocket and this goes on top of the camera and that way someone can be over behind the camera just like listening make Mak sure that you know I'm not like the mic's not touching anything or like I'm not like breathing into it or something silly I'm going to be stealing this thing you're going to yeah anyway I'm using the uh Zoom H1 this is like a little portable camera has an SD card in it and uh yeah it's really great it's affordable I've also got the wind screen on it which is really really handy just to uh you can't use it without yeah otherwise if I speak into it you're going to hear like all the breathing and stuff like that Austin's also got one on the top of the camera we're filming with um yeah it's really great and it's so good because like for example uh since this is Wireless sometimes like there can be interference and stuff but I could just unplug this and plug it into a zoom and use it to record it's like it's like a it's like a what arm knife it's handy it's like having just a portable recorder or you can plug it into cameras um it's fantastic and of course when you're carrying a ton of gear around you got to have a bag and that's where I use this this is a c 22 and it's got like really long name and I don't think they make it anymore so but we'll put like a link in the description it's pretty funny that your bag has a name though cuz my I'm just rocking a plain black black it's the plain black bag it's the plain black bag I got it for 12 bucks and yeah full the size it's good but tell me about your cool bag well my my bag's cooler than yours I'll just start by saying that no it's just awesome cuz I can keep my MacBook Air in here and uh iPad camera lenses uh accessories all that kind of stuff in here and it's it's small enough where like I can carry around all day long put underneath the airline seat whatever also yeah a bit more organized than my random yeah and also I've got this awesome CES bag they gave me yeah you don't get one of these you're not cool enough for the for the special bag maybe I'll get a bag I W get a bag I haven't been there yet I'm sure I got my paw I think it's just press it's just for press oh you're an exhibitor you're too you're cooler than me on some hands but you don't get a bag so how cool can you really be not cool enough is the answer not cool enough we also jumped on Twitter and asked you guys if you have any questions about CEs or anything as far as the tech we're going to bring so yeah do you edit at the event itself or at the hotel room I always edit at the hotel room uh by the time I'm at the event I'm dead by like 2 3:00 I'm dead I'm going back and I'll like sit and just like no edit edit edit like that's that's all I can do um and plus it's crowded there and you might not have a seat anywhere and you like sitting there like all way in Ed it's not a place for editing it's just crazy filming who's taller between us I feel like this was a slightly troll question uh she is actually much taller than I am she actually 7 foot tall no yeah she's not very tall no I'm I'm short mov been along why did you guys bring so much gear couldn't you edit it on an iPad you on an iPad you edited videos you remember what was it okay when I was traveling yeah uh I did edit a lot of videos on iPads I guess that's a fair comment I actually did bring the the camera connection kit so I could like if there's an emergency but the iPad's not really great for Ed to be honest for something like CES you need the desktop to like move things with the mouse I don't know touch screen is just not and it's not very powerful like we're curing out I don't know how many videos we'll do but like you get back you want to be able to get the videos done you don't want have to spend you know 3 hours editing a video on an iPad when you can do it in 30 minutes on a MacBook yeah it's just a lot easier to edit on a computer and that's what I got that's right anyway that's going to be about it if you guys want to check out part two of this video where we go over the rest of our gear as well as more questions and all that kind of stuff be sure to go click on her face right now I'm going to add an annotation to your face just so you know okay and there's also a link in the description you guys can check out part two which is on her Channel yeah youtube.com/ chat and on top of that definitely be sure to stay tuned to both of our channels as we're going to be doing lots and lots of CES coverage starting tomorrow prob through the next I don't know how long a while it'll take us a few days yeah it'll take several days for us to go do all of our videos also one other thing if you guys want to see anything in particular at CES let us know drop a comment down below and we'll do our best one of us or both of us will try to go and do a video on you know if you want to see a really cool new TV saw announced or anything like that let us know we will do our best to get a video on it all right all right anyway guys I will catch you next time bye I five yes that'll be the end of the videohey guys this is Austin
