The BMW M3: A Vehicle that Fills the Space Left by its Predecessors
As we stepped into the Manhattan MH3600, it was clear that this car is filling the space left by the previous M5 and now even the newer M8. The M3 has become the new benchmark for performance and luxury in the BMW lineup. With its impressive dual-purpose design, the M3 can seamlessly transition from a comfortable daily driver to a sporty machine capable of delivering adrenaline-pumping thrills.
Headed Back to the M1: A Comparison
As we took the M3 back to the M1, it was evident that this car is not just a performance-oriented variant, but also a showcase for BMW's advanced technology and features. The M mode on the M1 brought out the sporty side of the vehicle, allowing us to experience its acceleration and handling capabilities firsthand. With the Sport Display activated, we took the M3 on a thrilling ride up the mountain roads, feeling the rush of adrenaline as we pushed the car to its limits.
A Test of Traction: How Fast Can it Go?
We decided to test the M3's acceleration by pushing it hard on the autobahn, with the driver holding onto the wheel for dear life. The results were astonishing – from 0 to 180 kilometers per hour in just over 20 seconds! This is a remarkable feat, especially considering that the standard car is already quite fast. But what was truly mind-boggling was how quickly it reached its top speed, with the electronic limiter kicking in at around 97 km/h.
A Closer Look: Features and Technology
As we took a closer look at the M3, we were impressed by the abundance of features and technology on board. The head-up display is one of the standout features, providing all the necessary information directly in front of us. We also noticed the carbon blades at the side of the car, which add a touch of elegance to its design. The laser headlights with blue accents and details are another notable feature, giving the M3 an edge over its competitors.
The Interior: A Comfortable and Luxurious Space
Once we stepped inside the M3, we were greeted by a comfortable and luxurious space that is perfect for long drives. The interior is equipped with all the necessary features to make your life easier, including digital screens and displays, ambient lighting, radar, and adaptive cruise control. We also noticed the Manhattan logo on the dashboard, adding a touch of style to the overall design.
A Brief Interlude: Back to Comfort Mode
After getting accustomed to the M3's performance capabilities, we decided to take it back into "Comfort" mode, which proved to be just as impressive in its own right. With the car shifted into drive and the display showing us a more relaxed pace, we took a leisurely drive through the winding roads, enjoying the smooth ride and comfortable seating.
A Closer Look at the Carbon Blades and Laser Headlights
We spent some time admiring the M3's carbon blades at the side of the car and its impressive laser headlights with blue accents. These features add a touch of sophistication to the overall design, making it stand out from its competitors.
The Final Word: A Impressive Experience
As we concluded our drive in the Manhattan MH3600, we couldn't help but feel impressed by this vehicle's performance capabilities. The M3 has truly become a benchmark for luxury and performance in the BMW lineup, with its dual-purpose design making it suitable for both everyday driving and adrenaline-fueled adventures.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys i'm smee hello and welcome back to the channel will you join me today in the eiffel mountains with some bizarre weather it has to be said but today with the new manhattan mh3600 based on the g80 m3 so the latest generation just like i have back at home except this has a host of modifications we'll take a full look around all of the changes that manhart have made the new components the upgrades the amount of power that it's making and then taking it for a drive hopefully with some dry sections of the autobahn to experience what this is like in manhattan's signature livery then this is the new m3 with the black and gold livery over the top wearing a host of new carbon fiber parts from m performance parts as well as the mh tronic upgrades to the engine so visually exploring around we've got the m performance parts carbon lip we've got the flicks around the side we've got manhart's wheels you can see the car is sitting a touch lower than standard we've thankfully got the pilot sport 4s tyres considering that it's slightly wet and greasy out we've got the m performance parts side skirts around towards the back we've also got the carbon lip spoiler on the boot lid and manhart's own carbon diffuser the standard diffuser would normally have a third vein in the center and a kind of diagonal vein here so they've tidied it up brought it back in line and crucially given it a new exhaust system which believe me sounds pretty incredible we're going to be hearing plenty of that very shortly the manhart badging the mh3600 designation mh3 manhattan 3 and in this case the 3 liter inline 6 twin power turbo engine makes quite some power to give you the numbers the standard m3 this is an m3 competition rear-wheel drive eight-speed auto car in standard form would be 510 horsepower and 650 newton meters this takes power to 635 125 horsepower up and it takes torque to 780 newton meters 130 newton meters up that is a lot to be putting through the rear wheels of a bmw m3 one of the first i think tuning projects out there in fact based on the new model it certainly gets me thinking a little bit about what we might be able to consider doing with the schmie mobile back at home but today i want to take this for a run go and experience a little bit more of what it's like so we'll basically get straight on board get out on the roads and like i said if i can find a stretch of dry autobahn we'll see what it's like it's got the m drivers package on this car which means the top speed goes up from the normally limited 250 kilometers an hour to now 290 so 40ks over the standard that's about 171 i think miles per hour now with the new top speed so let's take a step on board then get this started rock and roll into life take a listen to the cold start of this in fact let's do this properly let's get it wake it up make sure we're in the right mode get it into m2 so that we've got everything in loud effectively and start it up yes that is not the standard sound that you get from one of these right let's go and have a drive into drive then eight-speed auto in here currently in manual because we're in m2 you can configure those listen to this up into second gear in fact let me just downshift it bubbles pops bangs and all sorts of crazy noises let's put it back into the normal driving mode for the time being we're going to set up obviously it's got stop start and all that kind of stuff at the moment we have everything in efficient comfort comfort comfort we've got the motor the suspension the steering and the m integrated brake assist where you can change the brake pedal feel let's head on out though like i say it is still a little bit greasy but quickly drying it would be quite slippery like this though it's pretty civilized it's fairly normal a little bit more sound than standard just gently cruising up the twisty road here i won't go too much into the things about the m3 that you'll know from the videos i've shot with my car and driving others prior to today and keep it to more specific than about this car and obviously sound feel power and that side of things if we go into m1 and hear that set for sports sports sport still the braking on comfort though and you can tell it dropped down a gear a little bit more noise from the valve changes when it opens i say a little bit more noise substantially more noise we're in drive logic three you've got three different settings for the eight speed a gearbox that works very well it's not the dct from the previous generation and we've got some slightly drier tarmac which is nice as well if we go into m2 double press to confirm because we've got m dynamic mode it goes into manual so we'll just drop down some gears this sounds really silly it's so loud yeah yeah small sense that there is noticeably more power and torque in this than the standard car like that's something you tell straight away about driving in this thing obviously you've got these two characters from it you've got this loud boisterous shouty thing and these engines the bmw make they're not the best sounding engines in the world they need exhaust to wake them up you certainly do get a lot more noise though out of this thing well we might be under sunshine at the moment up ahead there are clearly some rain showers which is not ideal because i can tell you when it comes to traction whatever tyres you put on this kind of thing about 800 newton meters of torque on slightly damp tarmac is only gonna go one way this is fun it makes it feel more like the character of the m2 the m2 competition m2cs just a little bit more lively the m3 is a pretty lively car to begin with this is with everything in the sportiest settings just listen to that sound that this thing makes we'll get full go on the autobahn in a moment but yeah it's not quiet now for the moment i'm gonna pop it into m1 i do want to have it in manual so we will do that but everything basically dsc wise is back on we'll keep the traction on because i know how larry this has the potential to get as we do go out towards the autobahn here yeah even here it's just a little bit slippy and we need to be slightly sensible about things at the moment but nonetheless an opportunity to put the foot down a bit what this is ridiculous this is one seriously fast m3 250 kilometers now already 270 280 uh through 290 and that's the limiter that's the electronic limiter 296 kilometers an hour 297 i saw there 297 kilometers per hour wow okay that is um 184 miles an hour i've proven that this thing is insanely vast that is insane how quickly it accelerated i kind of lost my words a little bit because the numbers just build up and build up and build up and build up just like that just happens and i haven't actually put the car into the sport mode which gives you the more focused dials in front of you see everything just building up this is a very very very very very fast car the back off 295 so with the ground looking noticeably wetter here let us bring this speed significantly down and uh pop it back into full defaults to be honest to everything being an efficient and comfortable and take it the other way the gentle cruise mode pop the dashboard back into normal road as opposed to sport and track and this is where it's quiet and it's calm and it rides nicely you know it's a smooth all-round grown-up experience i've talked about it a few times that the m3 is very much filling the space that was the m5 and obviously now the m8 as well has stepped up even to a bigger scale more luxurious larger more comfortable leaving room for this to cover so many purposes in terms of daily drivability and having very much dual purpose very sporty at one end very comfortable at the other and this is the perfect example of that heading back down then i'm going to go back into m1 i'm going to press into the m mode so we've got the sport display um and let's just see if we can get any traction here for a moment come to a standstill i know that it's going to be a bit of a struggle but we'll give it a go anyway this is absurdly quick the way the numbers go to 60 to 70 to 80 to 19 and there's on the limiter to 97. can you imagine what this car could do if it didn't have an electronic limiter considering how quickly it does that sprint i mean it's insanely fast this makes no sense how fast it is with the tune with the mh tronic and it feels so good at that speed as well it feels so comfortable it doesn't feel like it's walking all over the place we're slowed down significantly but still going 180 kilometers now which is 110 150 miles an hour or so you've got a great head-up display this guy has a really good head-up display for giving you all of the information straight in front of you very very clearly very big viewing area i'm just blown away by the performance of it the acceleration from zero to vmax happens so astonishingly quickly that that doesn't really compute properly it's just silly the craziest thing about that is the zero to well v-max effectively is less than 30 seconds in these kind of conditions it's i mean the standard car is obviously very very quick to begin with but that level of performance and to gain the amount of power that this has actually gained it's just all totally totally ridiculous anyway we are now going to take it a little bit more easily nice chill so we'll go back into everything effectively standard if you've been shifting manually by the way you can just hold the up or down panel and put it back into drive which is a nice little shortcut to sort that out we're actually pretty low on fuel need to keep my eyes on that obviously side effect of getting a move on on de-restricted german autobahns um but overall you know this car has so much tech to it it does so much in one package it's it takes a lot of boxes takes a lot of boxes it's very much matured from previous generations of m3 but it's still a brilliant car just in slightly different ways i think to what it was before yeah my adrenaline's kind of buzzing that was i guess it was 26 27 seconds or so to get up to that speed totally crazy after a slightly more leisurely drive in efficient and comfort and all of the smooth gentle settings i'm gonna pop it back into m2 to take well you can hit the vowels opening to take a little listen to what this is like it is fairly bonkers to say the least in fact opening the door listen to this okay i'm probably going to be scaring people who are a long way away from where i am you can hear the valves and the changes that makes very very significantly that's actually i guess turn it off for the moment inside here all standard bmw m3 loaded with all the tech and the gizmos and gadgets and everything you could want the nice digital screens and displays the new manhattan logo though worn over the airbag cover the ambient lighting the radar and adaptive crews and all of that kind of thing as well everything to make your life very very easy and smooth oh yes i didn't mention earlier the carbon blades at the side of it as well and the laser headlights with the blue touches and details that you can see yes we won't talk too much about the grilles that's been way over discussed but obviously makes it look a little bit cooler with the end performance parts visually the manhattan wheels as well and then particularly the mh tronic and the additional performance that this games is the thing that really really and truly has stood out today i think that was quite the experience a very impressive experience when it comes to outright performance from the bmw m3 or in this case the manhattan mh3600 that's it for today though big thanks to manhattan the opportunity to take this out for a drive here in the eiffel mountains down the autobahn and see what it's all about so i hope you enjoyed the video thank you very much for watching as always guys that's it for this time and i'll see you again very soon cheers youhi guys i'm smee hello and welcome back to the channel will you join me today in the eiffel mountains with some bizarre weather it has to be said but
