Keep Your Money Safe With Online Transactions Avoiding Common Traps

**Be Cautious of Legitimate Looking Scams**

It looks very legitimate but if you're getting calls like this and they are asking you to click on links via SMS or email, be very careful and whenever they send you a link via SMS or email, be doubly sure. And I would suggest not to click on it because sometimes these are actually fraudulent links to the website. They might look like a regular official website of the bank, credit card, or whatever but these are fraudulent websites and what their main aim is to capture your login and password so that they can access it.

**Protecting Yourself from Clickjacking Scams**

So be very careful if you are getting links by SMS or email. It's very easy to get fooled by that because the person who called you just about two minutes ago when you got it, and you just click on it. Be very careful guys. I've seen people getting fraud by that. Again, be very careful about this crank calls and never never never reveal your OTPs sometimes they do ask you for TVs and stuff like that. No bank will ask you for your OTP or pens specifically that is very important.

**Verifying the Authenticity of Banking Websites**

Also when you're logging to your let's say banking website, be very careful. Don't type what you think it should be because there are a lot of fraudulent sites that might look like official websites but with some minor spelling mistakes. So just go there and give in your details. Make sure you have that padlock that shows it's secure and if you are extra paranoid, like me, if you click on that you can get the details of that certificate and if you get a call, giving you details, you know this is the genuine official site of so be very careful when you are doing transactions on new websites.

**Protecting Yourself from UPI-Based Scams**

There's also one more new scam that is going on quite a bit, and this is because of UPI for example. You have UPI-based payments like Breen payments or Google pay, and these work on UPI but there's the scam that's going on quite a bit. These days you get a random call from someone who claims to be your customer of this XYZ company and says there was a lucky draw or something, and you are the winner of that and you have won five thousand rupees except for I like this whatever amount they might say.

**Be Wary of UPI Scammers**

And you might be excited yes great so they would say we want to remit this amount to your bank account can you just share your UPI ID. Many people fall for that, and next they will say that we also need your UPI pin so that we can transfer an amount. Here most of the people make a big mistake, you do not need your UPI pin for accepting money it is like you're in PM spin will you give your ATM spin to anybody else no treat the UPI pin also like that like your ATM pen nobody needs that sort to get money in your account.

**Avoiding PIN Requests from Scammers**

This is a very important thing that you have to know, don't give out your UPI pin treated like an ATM pin. This is a big scam that was going on and I've seen people getting scammed because people don't understand this thing so again never share your UPI pen and also be very careful with great calls from random numbers and stuff. And when they try to get out some sensitive information like your birthday or other card details or your pan details, be very careful and just don't answer if you are not comfortable just disconnect the call.

website that has to match for example here the example was that ICICI Bank so thereby you know this is the genuine official site of so be very careful when you are doing transactions on new website
