Using My iPad and Phone to Navigate Windows PC Usage

I just grabbed something I think well now I really don't done that because of the size of the screen on this I can just do my search ride on my phone so I probably end up getting away from my iPad is that not completely but no full is it curving your typical Windows PC usage well and I wouldn't give that all I wouldn't give that credit all to the iPhone 6 I would give that credit to iPhone because I got more away from using my computers because the main thing was like email and searching most kinds of things which I do more on the phone so I have to admit I do use my computer Windows because of the programs I use excel and word.

Now I notice on the phone they give you they give you numbers and pages and keynote so I gotta get make myself learn but I'd also get word excel and powerpoint on there oh that's what I want to do that yeah but I can also there's a way to print from here mom does it but I haven't done that yet so I'll do that too.

iphone 4 not for us the 42 the 6s plus so I thought we'd get him on and get his take on the 6s plus and specifically moving from an older phone to a new phone really skipping three four or five generations of iphones and get his take on various features that he might be using what he likes but he doesn't like etc you already know my take on the iphone 6s plus and to know that i'm using the iphone success flat out i'm happy with it I'm not going to change my mind and then of course after we're done with that I'm going to be rolling into today's Perillo pics we're finally going to be doing tech and travel collectibles I'm doing it now even though I wanted to do it three days ago other awesome things showed up and I had to talk about that stuff before too long and then after that I'm going to be answering geek questions and tech questions with the community of patrons and then after that covering the day's tech news into geek news and believe you me there's plenty of it to cover um I also wanted to establish this and I I don't know how to to really explain it any other way but this is now known to be an absolute fact it is irrefutable I have proof definitive proof and obviously the screen size yeah exactly that was the big thing was just the screen size I could see things better and I less of this trying to make things bigger so I could read them I can read it without making them bigger I can actually read thing without my glasses if I need to which is good the size doesn't bother me I really looked really hard Judy and my wife has got the like you this just the six at success right and I opted for the 6s plus and I did get it on the Apple I forget what they call but when the new phones come out I can upgrade this so if after whatever six months or eight months I get where I don't like this size then at that point I'll go to whatever's out there and maybe go back to a smaller size but right now I I I like the size so this I seems to be that doesn't bother me did you know I mean a speed difference was it noticeable for you oh yeah it was really a lot faster like when I of course now it's got em I could say my vendor if you want out here I use AT&T and I don't know what like LTE I don't know if that's what makes the phone faster or the phone itself makes it faster but it's a heck of a lot faster with everything with everything what are my everything yeah it's really good too because again I can see things better when I'm trying to shoot shots editing is easier because it's bigger so i don't think i'll have to go from here to the ipad i'm still learning things on this but it's kind of interesting i was going to keep my for as a backup phone they offered a hundred dollars for the phone just to take it off your hands basically and I opted not to do that originally but after the after about a week of having this I was using them both I'd used the 44 things I was familiar with not that well this is kind of dumb so then I start using I started weaning myself off my time for to the I for iphone 6s plus so I like the size it's actually thinner a lot thinner than and it's not because of the case either it's just dinner I don't know if it is I haven't matched the statistics but to me it feels lighter battery on this seems that lasts just as well a little bit better than the four and that's probably because it's new and you know after I've had this for years maybe poke well if you're on a plane where you get anyone every year I got then you just do it yeah yeah that's that's right that'll be the nice thing I haven't decided whether we're going to do I'd like to do it it's just the process is it currently a bit cumbersome yeah well it depends what they do they may do some things additional things with the camera camera or some of the applications that come with the phone they may change those like the calendar they changed on this one a little bit like when you go when you turn it to the side because well number one yeah you guys the 6s plus has got the I mean it's going to have different landscape modes like on the home screen right because it's a little bit bigger yeah um but you're also bleeping from I want to say you are on iOS 7 or 8 but you didn't have nine you could no date to the latest i already had seven yeah i was as updated as it could be yeah yeah and so you you're actually you've actually I think you leap frogged iOS 8 if I'm not well this is nice that's not yeah but I'm saying that because the iphone 4 was incapable I want to say when I looked when you and mom were last here yet I want to see it was iOS 7 because now I'm going to going to kind of experiment with this to see if it can replace my iPad Wow and then instead of having this end the ipad I'll have just my iphone 6 right well this is the last kind of what I like them yeah I looked at I looked at that at the apple store it's big yeah they're pretty good size that's a big screen so you got it oh yeah you got a pass for it ya know we all that would that's something what but that I like the identification with the thumb but it's is sometimes it it worries me i think it's not working right because I just barely touched it over here and then all of a sudden it opens up and I think well something is right so I'll take my left fund thumb I'll take my left thumb and try it just to make sure it's working correctly and so far it's been working correctly so it was kind of interesting win is asking did you get warranty well when you go with the Apple plan it comes it comes with their applecare I think it's called I've never done that before but I think like if it breaks or whatever then you basically exchanged I think there's an exchange fee or something but a slot better and have to pay the whole amount of a new phone so so what do you not like about it coming you talking about you know you're afraid of dropping in value what what is there anything that jumps out that you're just not happy with well initially the one thing that kind of jumped out that I didn't like was the button on the side rather than the top and that was just because I had the other one so long I was so used to reaching on the time but after about a week and a half I got so used to decided that well it makes more sense on the side anyway so because the other side that's on the site so so you went from a smaller phone the iphone 4 did you ever really use it with one hand and if you find that to be a challenge with the sahaba us or were you always a two-hand phone user I pretty much when I answer a phone con usually one hand but I can answer a phone call with this with one hand I always was kind of I'd would hold it in my left hand and use one finger with the four and so transitioning to this size wise i know that was a lot of people's concerned but it doesn't bother me because i do it the same way then again the keys are bigger so i see it better so you've had a chance to run pretty much everything through the ringer battery camera screen obviously connectivity oh is your favorite thing about the phone the screen size period full stop the absolute favorite everything about the phone that's it's a it be a toss-up between the screen size and the speed because everything's a lot but I mean it's noticeably faster for me right so but it's noticeably faster a lot of people especially jumping for generations of devices why did you wait so long because i was able to do everything I wanted to do on the four so why why get a new phone it actually it was still reppin they were pretty amazed that was still in good shape back and front when I when I turned it in does it think five years we've gone hat we had an almost five years i want to say so but it was wasn't scratched anywhere it was pretty new and i've dropped it before so but it never heard it so I haven't dropped this yet I hope not well knock on knock on wood yeah knock I yeah well I'm serious yeah i mean if you want try it because yeah well this is this is what I got it's the leather case the same one that I have on my six just pump yeah just pops in there and it won't add too much bulk and it gives you a weight did you put it in the right way would you pick again are you right you're right you're right yep you got it would you ever go back to the smaller device after using a larger phone um do you think right now well the only reason I would even consider it is if you were able to do something on the smaller one that you couldn't do on a larger one I would probably go back but if as long as you could do the same things on the larger one I think I would stay with this site this feels comfortable for me and I don't have a gigantic can me I'm gonna like one of those basketball players can palm a basketball or anything but like a palm of baseball but but this I can I can manage it pretty well yeah I feel the difference already it's not slick with the cover right that's why I have the cover on mine well success but you stopped the apple logo on the back of yeah I saw their lien there but they make a clear one that's I think it's a different brand yeah but it's clear it's and that's what I had on my for I called it a bump that just basically had something around the edges but the back was all clear again I don't know if it's you know one of those things I want people to know what I got I guess I keep using this you know for I mean it so you unless you're like really perturbed by it because it doesn't add much weight it protects the edge of time this I've been using this one since I had 26 because it fits on both oh and it's I mean it shows a lot of wear and tear and I've definitely dropped it and I would say it's a you know huge boon to impact resistance but I can say that it's it's definitely kept the phone in better shape well and then if you shut it down like this true this protects this like the screen because it's a little higher a little lip yeah well not to mention you should always if you're not using your phone you should always have a face down anyway well I don't know why save battery life because we're gonna turn on when you get a notification oh it won't will it turn on it upside down minute yeah it'll turn on but the screen wont illuminate because it knows it's facing down so I can say is battery life doesn't turn on so it's kind of like an outside refrigerator yeah they door was closed yeah because this the lights thing no it doesn't but you can actually toggle the accessibility setting Diana did this years ago and it was a really cool trick in accessibility you can have you ever seen my uh like if Liz demise yeah I've shown them you can turn that on so that if it's facedown and saving battery life but the the light will still go off to let you know you got a 12 the light goes off isn't that huge battery idle use the battery so they're not with money battery okay it's not going to mitigate it entirely but because massif if I really I really I really like it now I know that the end some of the other vendors have this size of phone to act they have the name I family yeah phablet I see other people with non I phones that are the same size but I i don't know i just i like it it's clean i got the black trim because you could get like the white all right just like light right or the space drains yeah yeah and I like the color of the back so right that's kind of doesn't bother me the one that I go with usually all the time yeah I like it when it's cool you know don't I don't know why I just brush like this cleaner yeah to me too that's why I usually have a bucket any anything else to say about the 6s plus well some of my apps seem to work better and they give a lot and there's a lot of newer apps on this like for a new person this day it has tips right and so you can kind of go through those tips to help you learn it quicker but actually what I learn I let my let Judy do all the groundwork and then I say how do you do that she explains it to me but it's easier for me well you could you could also well you probably have old bold apps on them that haven't been updated in years but you could probably flip it up in absent yeah Apple pay and dry that yet and I haven't tried that when yeah i'm not sure what i think of that again that's a more secure more than handing your credit card weddings i'm on it do you watch television at all do you know how much of it is fake well you gotta be careful when you talk around your TV I yeah well especially if it's a smart TV which isn't a very smart idea unfortunately I have a smart TV I think don't and I have an apple to it don't ever Apple TVs okay that's what I use is an apple actually cares about your privacy that's why they're features yeah so yeah speaking of that's win is asking did you get warranty well when you go with the Apple plan it comes it comes with their applecare I think it's called I've never done that before but I think like if it breaks or whatever then you basically exchanged I think there's an exchange fee or something but a slot better and have to pay the whole amount of a new phone so so what do you not like about it coming you talking about you know you're afraid of dropping in value what what is there anything that jumps out that you're just not happy with well initially the one thing that kind of jumped out that I didn't like was the button on the side rather than the top and that was just because I had the other one so long I was so used to reaching on the time but after about a week and a half I got so used to decided that well it makes more sense on the side anyway so because the other side that's on the site so so you went from a smaller phone the iphone 4 did you ever really use it with one hand and if you find that to be a challenge with the sahaba us or were you always a two-hand phone user I pretty much when I answer a phone con usually one hand but I can answer a phone call with this with one hand I always was kind of I'd would hold it in my left hand and use one finger with the four and so transitioning to this size wise i know that was a lot of people's concerned but it doesn't bother me because i do it the same way then again the keys are bigger so i see it better so you've had a chance to run pretty much everything through the ringer battery camera screen obviously connectivity oh is your favorite thing about the phone the screen size period full stop the absolute favorite everything about the phone that's it's a it be a toss-up between the screen size and the speed because everything's a lot but I mean it's noticeably faster for me right so but it's noticeably faster a lot of people especially jumping for generations of devices why did you wait so long because i was able to do everything I wanted to do on the four so why why get a new phone it actually it was still reppin they were pretty amazed that was still in good shape back and front when I when I turned it in does it think five years we've gone hat we had an almost five years i want to say so but it was wasn't scratched anywhere it was pretty new and i've dropped it before so but it never heard it so I haven't dropped this yet I hope not well knock on knock on wood yeah knock I yeah well I'm serious yeah i mean if you want try it because yeah well this is this is what I got it's the leather case the same one that I have on my six just pump yeah just pops in there and it won't add too much bulk and it gives you a weight did you put it in the right way would you pick again are you right you're right you're right yep you got it would you ever go back to the smaller device after using a larger phone um do you think right now well the only reason I would even consider it is if you were able to do something on the smaller one that you couldn't do on a larger one I would probably go back but if as long as you could do the same things on the larger one I think I would stay with this site this feels comfortable for me and I don't have a gigantic can me I'm gonna like one of those basketball players can palm a basketball or anything but like a palm of baseball but but this I can I can manage it pretty well yeah I feel the difference already it's not slick with the cover right that's why I have the cover on mine well success but you stopped the apple logo on the back of yeah I saw their lien there but they make a clear one that's I think it's a different brand yeah but it's clear it's and that's what I had on my for I called it a bump that just basically had something around the edges but the back was all clear again I don't know if it's you know one of those things I want people to know what I got I guess I keep using this you know for I mean it so you unless you're like really perturbed by it because it doesn't add much weight it protects the edge of time this I've been using this one since I had 26 because it fits on both oh and it's I mean it shows a lot of wear and tear and I've definitely dropped it and I would say it's a you know huge boon to impact resistance but I can say that it's it's definitely kept the phone in better shape well and then if you shut it down like this true this protects this like the screen because it's a little higher a little lip yeah well not to mention you should always if you're not using your phone you should always have a face down anyway well I don't know why save battery life because we're gonna turn on when you get a notification oh it won't will it turn on it upside down minute yeah it'll turn on but the screen wont illuminate because it knows it's facing down so I can say is battery life doesn't turn on so it's kind of like an outside refrigerator yeah they door was closed yeah because this the lights thing no it doesn't but you can actually toggle the accessibility setting Diana did this years ago and it was a really cool trick in accessibility you can have you ever seen my uh like if Liz demise yeah I've shown them you can turn that on so that if it's facedown and saving battery life but the the light will still go off to let you know you got a 12 the light goes off isn't that huge battery idle use the battery so they're not with money battery okay it's not going to mitigate it entirely but because massif if I really I really I really like it now I know that the end some of the other vendors have this size of phone to act they have the name I family yeah phablet I see other people with non I phones that are the same size but I i don't know i just i like it it's clean i got the black trim because you could get like the white all right just like light right or the space drains yeah yeah and I like the color of the back so right that's kind of doesn't bother me the one that I go with usually all the time yeah I like it when it's cool you know don't I don't know why I just brush like this cleaner yeah to me too that's why I usually have a bucket any anything else to say about the 6s plus well some of my apps seem to work better and they give a lot and there's a lot of newer apps on this like for a new person this day it has tips right and so you can kind of go through those tips to help you learn it quicker but actually what I learn I let my let Judy do all the groundwork and then I say how do you do that she explains it to me but it's easier for me well you could you could also well you probably have old bold apps on them that haven't been updated in years but you could probably flip it up in absent yeah Apple pay and dry that yet and I haven't tried that when yeah i'm not sure what i think of that again that's a more secure more than handing your credit card weddings i'm on it do you watch television at all do you know how much of it is fake well you gotta be careful when you talk around your TV I yeah well especially if it's a smart TV which isn't a very smart idea unfortunately I have a smart TV I think don't and I have an apple to it don't ever Apple TVs okay that's what I use is an apple actually cares about your privacy that's why they're features yeah so yeah speaking of that's one of their features someone was asking the weights that I can't get over the size of it and it is as light as it I thought it would be way heavier than the but they're almost pretty close to the same I think why'd you go apple if not years ago then now why'd you buy Apple not an Android device uh I guess I guess when we come and visit and you had yours and I was seeing what you were doing with yours and I thought well that all looks pretty easy and the way the icons were originally and I would remember looking at first thinking that was all foreign to me but once you get used to it then you recognize the apps and it was just the ease of the use for me it just looked easier to use and I just kind of gravitated to that I've asked the question before especially with you know you having an iphone and an ipad do you find that are you using the iphone 6s plus more than use the iphone 4 or i say i am no i use it more because like I say I think because of the size imma be able to do some of the things on my phone that I used to do on the iPad my ipad i usually keep it by from my stand by the TV and if i want to look something up i just grabbed it well now i really don't done that because of the size of the screen on this i can just do my search ride on my phone so i probably end up getting away from my ipad is that not completely but no full is it curving your typical Windows PC usage well and I wouldn't give that all I wouldn't give that credit all to the iphone 6 I would give that credit to iPhone because I got more away from using my computers because the main thing was like email and searching most kinds of things which I do more on the phone so i have to admit i do use my computer windows because of the programs i use excel and word now i notice on the phone they give you they give you numbers and pages and keynote so I gotta get make myself learn but I'd also get word excel and powerpoint on there oh that's what I want to do that yeah but i can also there's a way to print from here mom does it but i haven't done that yet so i'll do that too okay so mark evans is asking my father is getting one because he thinks 3d touch will make it easier to navigate do you find this as well do you know what 3d touch yeah yeah yeah yeah you can use like when you want your camera you can just you touch it and then press just a little bit deeper than a little sub menu shows up on your screen which i think it's a selfie and camera a movie slow motion I think those are the choices you have on if i remember right but it's kind of cool you just kind of it's a touch thing you have to learn the touch touch stain like mom had trouble with her and she told you with their thumbprint she couldn't get her thumbprint to work on the phone real easy and I never had trouble some will probably get that checked out because it sounds like it too well she changed it to a finger no I know but you should still I don't know why her thumb isn't registering but another finger well she didn't she didn't try and like reset it with her thought that's not well okay that's what I asked it she tried it again or he'll end up again she didn't know again well she said she did well maybe she did I wouldn't yeah who knows but mine right from the time i set it up in the store its work now I originally had trouble knowing how to make it work you know I would press and hold right it does different if you do too if you touch the home button different ways it does different things so would you ever think about getting a keyboard attachment with the iphone 6 no using a confusing it as a computer nope no Eric well maybe am answering that took a you know you answer thanks quick sometimes but how much do you bet you still think the the keyboard as a as an input device for a lot you don't really do a lot right no I don't most of Mines numbers right so if I had a keyboard maybe and if I could get like excel on here I'm not sure yeah how many gigs today with it demon because of the way I can yes I do because of them along we keep phones I thought I'm gonna get the biggest and best so I got done 128 that's the biggest right and it was only actually was like on the deal they give you it was only like four dollars different I know a month that's still 50 bucks but it just seemed like a small amount to pay for a in essence doubling because i went i think i went to 32 64 128 i thinks the way it went what i thought for doubling the max for four bucks it seemed like a pretty good deal to me so if that makes sense so that's how I thought about I don't think your hand thinking forever that things would run the more the better the size it's like
