InFocus M810 Review - A Performer on a Budget with Pros & Cons
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this uh video we'll be doing the review for this InFocus m810 and I've been using this device for almost about 10 days now and I used this with my primary SIM for the first 3 days and later on with my secondary sun and I won't go over all the details about this device it's physical overview Etc because I've covered all those aspects in my unboxing video links for those videos will be in the YouTube show notes I've also posted a dedicated gaming review uh that link will also be in the YouTube show notes in this video I'll just give you a general overview and then dive down between the pros and cons of this device so that you can decide if this device is for you or not and uh I would say overall specs of this device is actually really good it's powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset which is a quad core processor and the highlighting thing about this device is in terms of its look it looks actually very Sleek I would say some might not like this design of this what do you say gold finish and black uh this comes only in one color and it's sold in India via Amazon and it sells in India for around 15,000 and I feel for that price it does offer a lot let me actually give you uh the specs overview then we'll move on it is powered by the Snapdragon 801 chipset which is a quadcore processor clogged at 2.5 GHz regarding the screen it Sports a 5.5 in screen which is a 1080p screen also it's relatively thin at 6.9 mm and regarding 4G it has 4G bands for 1800 MHz but not for 2,300 MHz regarding the GPU it is the Rino 330 GPU 16GB of internal storage it has a Micro SD card slot a 13 map rear facing camera and a 5 megap front-facing camera moving towards the battery the battery is sealed inside which is a 2,600 mAh battery and I was a little bit worried uh because it just has a 2,600 mAh battery and it has a huge screen that's a 5.5 in screen but I would say the battery life was decent I wouldn't say it's extraordinary like the OnePlus 1 or even the mi4 but if we start comparing it with other devices it's comparable to what battery life I was getting on the S6 or the LG G4 it can easily last for a normal working day and by the end of the day I was hovering around 20% battery life and on in terms of screen on time it was anywhere between around 3 hours to 3 hours 15 minutes so the battery life is decent but not extraordinary if you are a heavy user yes you got to charge it twice a day but for most normal users it should be good enough in my opinion also another thing that I've noticed is that screen quality is really good and in terms of touch response also it is very good it's very fluid to use now it comes with what do you say uh not custom stock Android but it it has its own skin and I would say for the most part the skin runs it very fluidly I did not notice any lagginess or anything like that and out of the box it comes with Android lollipop but again it's a custom skin and it does not have a app tray so it takes a little bit time to get used to one thing I did not like is that the touch type capacitive buttons are a little bit big so it just makes the device look a lot bigger and it's a very peculiar uh what do you say uh setup you can't even customize it uh by default the left button is for the menu uh this is the home button but this also acts like a multitasking tray if you just double tap it once you get to the multitask asking train and obviously this is the back button so due to this it just feels a little bit big uh obviously it's uh 5.5 in device so it's a two-handed device it's very difficult to operate with a single hand and also I would say in terms of styling they have done a very good job in terms of the placement of the power button and the volume button it's Unique and it looks actually really different but again one thing I have noticed is that the power button and the volume buttons are on the left on most other Android phones they'll be on the right so it'll take you some time to get used to that and I also feel that the power button is a little bit small to my liking it should have been a little bit bigger now let me actually break down this device between the pros and cons so that you can decide if this device is for you or not and the first thing is regarding the styling in terms of styling I would say uh again styling is a personal uh preference but I feel the styling is pretty good and it gives a unique look to this device now if we move to the performance here also so I was very happy it could handle anything I threw at it and even in the general operations I did not notice any lag the Snapdragon 801 chipset handles it very well in my opinion also when we move to cellular calls the cellular call Quality was very good and I have no problems with that but the only thing is that regarding the speaker it just has a one speaker which is a front firing speaker but again the speaker volume was a little bit low hence in speaker phone I was not that satisfied now if we move to the camera quality here we have a 13 megapix rear facing camera and as you can see from the sample shots the 13 megapix rear facing camera does a very good job even when we move to artificial lighting I feel it does a fairly good job yes in very low lighting there is a little bit of noise in the pictures but for the most part I would say uh the rear facing camera does a very good job in terms of video recording the video recording was also good but it it's restricted only up to 1080p when we move to the front facing camera the front- facing camera also did a very good job in my opinion here are some samples so in terms of camera I would say yes the camera performance is really good but again there is no 4K video recording uh also I did test it with usb OTG and the usb OTG functionality works and it also has NFC support and as I mentioned the battery life is sort of decent now let's move to the things that I don't like about this device and the sort of the cons and the first thing is that uh due to the nature of the back the back is also glass and when I was downloading heavy apps or doing doing gaming it was heating up a little bit it was not heating too much but it was going around 43 to 44° centigrade and the problem is that it was heating at a particular Point uh and because of the glass it was concentrated heating so if you touch that area it feels very hot so one that you have to be aware of that but in normal usage I would say if you're not doing heavy gaming or anything like that or if you're downloading heavy apps for normal usage it was like fine in my opinion now again as I mentioned the play bement of the power button is a little bit on the awkward side it'll take time for you to get adjusted to that also uh another thing that I noticed is uh regarding the speaker as I mentioned I feel the speaker is really uh low in volume and also that affects the ringtones I feel even at the max volume the ringtones are very low to my liking and I did actually miss quite a a few calls if the phone was in another room so uh speaker volume is pretty low in mind opinion also when we move to 4G bands uh here again I had very mixed experience I have 4G here in Hyderabad and the problem was that yes it detected 4G but it could only latch on to the 4G for just about 10% of the time 90% of the time it was switching back to 3G which is not the case with many other Android phones that I test in the same location for example this is the OnePlus One with the same sim I could always get the 4G signal and also one thing to not is that 4G band supported on this device for India is only the 1800 MHz band so it won't work with 2300 MHz band also I did notice that there a uh screen is sort of a fingerprint magnet so you have to constantly keep cleaning this device and lastly as this is a new brand in India InFocus I'm not very sure about their after salale service and support so but still considering the overall performance of this device and considering the price to Performance ratio I do feel that this InFocus M80 for the price of around 15,000 is a very good bu I've also posted other videos on this device like its gaming review so make sure you check them out and again if you found this video helpful I'll appreciate if you can click the like button and subscribe to my
