**The New 24-Inch iMac: A Game-Changer**

Having to look around the back so I just like it - it's a great change! It makes it far easier to listen to audio wired on the new iMac. The new iMac still an entry-level machine, I mean, it's a 24-inch model versus the 27-inch that Apple has let alone like the Mac Pro desktop. So, the 24-inch is generally considered by and large consumer maybe entry prosumer machine and Apple tends to kind of take away ports on those. Look at the Retina MacBook that came out with one port on it. MacBook Airs typically came out with two ports on there even the entry-level MacBook the 13-inch MacBook Pros came with two ports on them like for a while.

**Type-C Ports: A Great Addition**

The fact that Apple has four USB-C or Type-C ports on the new machines is great! Now you don't get them with the entry-level model that still comes with two USB 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports but the second step-up there it does come with two USB 3. It does come with two USB 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports and two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports with Type-C connectors. So, you have four ports total but it's all Type-C which is amazing because if you got anything at Type-C you don't have to worry about USA versus USB-C like I just want more USB Type-C ports I want more Type-C ports on my machines and Apple has four of them on here.

**A Significant Upgrade in Camera**

So, that work-from-home era that we are all living in at the moment. The new camera is 1080p which looks so much better. On top of that, the M1 processor in here has a whole new ISP that's really going to boost the quality of those images. There's a ton of AI machine learning stuff that Apple is doing that processes these images from the camera and really improves how they look. Whether you're on Zoom calls whether you're taking classes anything like that the new camera is for sure going to make you look even better.

**Impressive Speakers**

I'm a huge audio nut, you know not an audiophile by any means but I just love great sounding audio some good bass and Apple has gone above and beyond here on the new iMac. It really does sound exceptional and I would be very happy to ditch any stand-alone speakers for a less cluttered workspace and just rely on the ones built into the new iMac. So, there are two drivers two woofers in here that are force-canceling drivers which means if you had regular woofers they went like that you'd be kind of setting your machine off balance so they have back and forth ones that go there at the same time so they actually cancel each other out so they're force-canceling drivers which means it's not going to vibrate when all that bass is going on.

**A Great Conclusion**

So, those are my top 10 new features of the 24-inch iMac 2021. reasons you may want to consider the new imac in this video i'm going to walk you through 10 10 features of why you should care about this thing i'm going to walk you through explain what they mean give you some ideas on performance and just generally the best new features of apple's latest desktop computer starting off of course with this redesign i mean look at it it's just barely over 11 millimeters thick it weighs so little in comparison to the other ones um and it has a big difference in packaging the packaging actually comes in a level box like it's flat which makes a big difference for shipping and storing minor things like that like i know it's ridiculous we talked about packaging but it's seriously very helpful uh aside from that the machine just looks amazing the colors on this all the colors that are available especially in the second tier units i have this green which looks amazing but there's also you know blue and orange and uh yellow and red and purple and uh blue silver like there's a lot of options so anyone with the basic silver a really awesome great pop of color these new machines have you covered so everything about the design i pretty much love the one thing one thing that i'm going to hate on is it is on the front of the unit is the lighter colors at the bottom so the green i don't mind but if we're looking at like the red i love the vivid red on the back but the pink on the front isn't doing it for me so if i had one complaint about the design it's that i don't even mind the white bezel i don't it looks okay with the screen on it it blends in fine and i don't mind the chin you know i'd like if it was gone but i don't mind it don't mind all the whole computers in that chin basically so for this beautiful design i'm gonna be cool with it but just in general these things look amazing such a huge upgrade for the imac in general apple pretty much nailed it with this new design especially the stunning back here i just can't say enough about it so the new imacs the first best new feature it's got to be that design the next new feature to talk about is the ethernet port some of you may be looking at the back of this unit being like where is that ethernet port it's not there all you see is a bunch of usb c ports and you don't understand where the ethernet port is well apple hid it on the power supply and i think this is genius it is one less cord that is running up to your desk your ethernet is likely coming below your desk anyway so you can just pop it into the gigabit ethernet cord included on the power supply itself and you've got wired internet on your imac and you get rid of another cable going up to your desk it keeps things clean you got one cable coming up here for power for internet and that's it of course you got your ports here your type c ports if you need to plug in other peripherals but largely you know keeping it to just one power cord and removing the need for that ethernet cable to come up i love that they built that into the power supply such a great idea my third favorite new feature of the updated 24 inch imac has got to be the m1 processor apple's been slowly rolling out its own silicon its own processors to more and more machines so first we saw with the uh you know the macbook air and the macbook pro the mac mini got it eventually uh and now we have it here on the 24 inch imac apple still has like the 27 inch or the larger imac to deal with the mac pro to deal with and the 13 13-inch or the 16-inch macbook pro to deal with with its own processors but as far as especially entry-level machines this is huge so this is the first really kind of all-in-one that apple has done with its own silicon and as we've seen with the macbook air the macbook pro the mac mini and even the ipad pros the m1 is a scorcher it does great in this consumer level machine it is going to give you performance for years to come and if we look at benchmarks we can see how great of a leap this is over the prior generation 21-inch imac in apple insider's geekbench 5 test of the 24-inch imac it made a single core score of 1743 and a multi-core score of 76.72 that's considerably faster than the entry-level 21.5 inch imac 4k at 897 and 3183 respectively and it also beats the 11 20 and 50 71 scores that the 27 inch imac at the lowest configuration scored honestly i am impressed by that this new machine blows the previous generation smaller model out of the water and even beat the entry level of the 27 inch imac that is fantastic so no matter what you're doing on this even video editing you're going to be able to on this machine and have no issues so the m1 processor here just got to give apple round of claw applause for this processor as we've been doing since we saw it in the first match that included it the next new feature to talk about is stickers please do not come at me for this please do not yell at me in the comments but i have to mention the exclusive stickers that you get with the new imac for the first time really apple is kind of venturing outside of its normal white stickers sure with the mac pro i believe we got some space gray stickers some fancy stickers like that but look at these we got colors we got fancy colors to match the machine that you buy and they match the colors of the imac look at this we got the blue the dark blue for the back this bluish green and the lighter green for the base the stand so we have two stickers that come in the box and they're color matched to the imac itself they're even metallic and shimmery if you are a fan of stickers whether you put them on something like your apple tv or you know even a water bottle or something you've got lying around i don't care what it is but everyone loves apple stickers and the fact they are new color matched ones to match the imac that you bought heck i can see people wanting these stickers as just that little extra perk that leans them to get this guy rather than a last generation unit my next favorite feature is these new peripherals i've always been a fan of apple's desktop keyboards they're solid reliable they've got a good click to those buttons and they're nice and sleek but they've always been in just black and silver basically and even now apple's discontinued the space gray versions of its peripherals so you can no longer even get them once supplies run out but with the new imacs you can get color matched peripherals there are four different peripherals that you can pick up there is the magic mouse the wireless magic mouse you can also get a magic track pad if you prefer then there is your keyboard to go along with it um but then there's also an extended keyboard if you would prefer to go that route which has the number pad and all of that on there i prefer the extended keyboard myself but you can choose any of those on purchase because these are not available anywhere else you cannot buy these standalone you have to get with the new imac so just remember that if you love the new peripherals you want them in red green blue yellow whatever color imac you're picking up the only way to get them is if you order those new machines so they look freaking awesome not to mention there's also touch id built into this keyboard that's right the new keyboards have touch id built in so you can authenticate yourself just a little tap boom i'm already into the machine right now just a tiny tap on that quarter enter passwords open apps anything a lot most the times when you have to authenticate in some way you can now do it with touch id just like you could on you know a macbook pro or macbook air any of those with touch id you can now do it on the desktop and what's even cooler is you can use these on any m1 based mac and you can still use touch id so if you have an m1 based uh you know macbook pro and you've got one of these keyboards you could pair it with your laptop and continue to use touch id to authenticate on your 13 inch macbook pro or macbook air so yeah i'm in love with these new keyboards the new mouse and trackpad they're basically the same thing but now they come in colors it's really cool it's a simple thing but i love it regardless next new feature that i want to talk about is this power cord these are the things that i love about apple like to a ridiculous degree and if i want to slow down here for just one second on something as simple as a power cord no one else does stuff like apple does who is spending this much time on a power cord to make it look and feel good as well as work even better than it did before who thought you needed a magnetic power cord for a desktop apple did nobody else is doing that and it's just something i love about apple so much they put that time and effort and care into packaging and recycling environment environmental stuff and then something as small as a power cable apple has a braided power cable that is also color matched to the machine itself the green of this cable matches the green of the stand so it just kind of blends in and creates that one look on top of that the part that goes into the imac it is color matched as well so it's aluminum around there and that aluminum has come out to the body of the imac so you've got the cable that matches the stand and then the connector that matches the body of the imac and it connects magnetically so as you bring it close it just sucks it in and it comes free easily far better than the plug design that was a pain in the butt on prior generation models this is an all-around fantastic power cable you may never be touching the cable but it is going to be on your desk and you do have to set it up at least once and apple put in the effort to make it look good feel good you know work well it is small but it is such a nice detail that apple committed to the headphone jack is my next favorite feature and this may just be you know a byproduct of the design of the new imac but it's still worth mentioning because it's a great usability change so apple as you can see stripped a lot of the parts waves in the back there's only four there we've moved ethernet to the power brick that we already talked about but where's the headphone jack apple did not abandon it on its desktop machine instead it moved it to the side now again this could just be a byproduct because this thing is so insanely thin you know just over 11 millimeters thick the fact that it's so thin there's not enough room and depth for a headphone jack to plug in so that could be why apple relocated to the side but that said it is far more usable on the side you don't have to turn it around to look for it it's right here on the side so it's on with the left side of the machine we can kind of turn that around and focus moves up it's down there so this is where the new headphone jack is and it's so much nicer to plug in directly to the side of this versus having to look around the back so i just about packaging but it's seriously very helpful uh aside from that the machine just looks amazing the colors on this all the colors that are available especially in the second tier units i have this green which looks amazing but there's also you know blue and orange and uh yellow and red and purple and uh blue silver like there's a lot of options so anyone with the basic silver a really awesome great pop of color these new machines have you covered so everything about the design i pretty much love the one thing one thing that i'm going to hate on is it is on the front of the unit is the lighter colors at the bottom so the green i don't mind but if we're looking at like the red i love the vivid red on the back but the pink on the front isn't doing it for me so if i had one complaint about the design it's that i don't even mind the white bezel i don't it looks okay with the screen on it it blends in fine and i don't mind the chin you know i'd like if it was gone but i don't mind it don't mind all the whole computers in that chin basically so for this beautiful design i'm gonna be cool with it but just in general these things look amazing such a huge upgrade for the imac in general apple pretty much nailed it with this new design especially the stunning back here i just can't say enough about it so the new imacs the first best new feature it's got to be that design the next new feature to talk about is the ethernet port some of you may be looking at the back of this unit being like where is that ethernet port it's not there all you see is a bunch of usb c ports and you don't understand where the ethernet port is well apple hid it on the power supply and i think this is genius it is one less cord that is running up to your desk your ethernet is likely coming below your desk anyway so you can just pop it into the gigabit ethernet cord included on the power supply itself and you've got wired internet on your imac and you get rid of another cable going up to your desk it keeps things clean you got one cable coming up here for power for internet and that's it of course you got your ports here your type c ports if you need to plug in other peripherals but largely you know keeping it to just one power cord and removing the need for that ethernet cable to come up i love that they built that into the power supply such a great idea my third favorite new feature of the updated 24 inch imac has got to be the m1 processor apple's been slowly rolling out its own silicon its own processors to more and more machines so first we saw with the uh you know the macbook air and the macbook pro the mac mini got it eventually uh and now we have it here on the 24 inch imac apple still has like the 27 inch or the larger imac to deal with the mac pro to deal with and the 13 13-inch or the 16-inch macbook pro to deal with with its own processors but as far as especially entry-level machines this is huge so this is the first really kind of all-in-one that apple has done with its own silicon and as we've seen with the macbook air the macbook pro the mac mini and even the ipad pros the m1 is a scorcher it does great in this consumer level machine it is going to give you performance for years to come and if we look at benchmarks we can see how great of a leap this is over the prior generation 21-inch imac in apple insider's geekbench 5 test of the 24-inch imac it made a single core score of 1743 and a multi-core score of 76.72 that's considerably faster than the entry-level 21.5 inch imac 4k at 897 and 3183 respectively and it also beats the 11 20 and 50 71 scores that the 27 inch imac at the lowest configuration scored honestly i am impressed by that this new machine blows the previous generation smaller model out of the water and even beat the entry level of the 27 inch imac that is fantastic so no matter what you're doing on this even video editing you're going to be able to on this machine and have no issues so the m1 processor here just got to give apple round of claw applause for this processor as we've been doing since we saw it in the first match that included it the next new feature to talk about is stickers please do not come at me for this please do not yell at me in the comments but i have to mention the exclusive stickers that you get with the new imac for the first time really apple is kind of venturing outside of its normal white stickers sure with the mac pro i believe we got some space gray stickers some fancy stickers like that but look at these we got colors we got fancy colors to match the machine that you buy and they match the colors of the imac look at this we got the blue the dark blue for the back this bluish green and the lighter green for the base the stand so we have two stickers that come in the box and they're color matched to the imac itself they're even metallic and shimmery if you are a fan of stickers whether you put them on something like your apple tv or you know even a water bottle or something you've got lying around i don't care what it is but everyone loves apple stickers and the fact they are new color matched ones to match the imac that you bought heck i can see people wanting these stickers as just that little extra perk that leans them to get this guy rather than a last generation unit my next favorite feature is these new peripherals i've always been a fan of apple's desktop keyboards they're solid reliable they've got a good click to those buttons and they're nice and sleek but they've always been in just black and silver basically and even now apple's discontinued the space gray versions of its peripherals so you can no longer even get them once supplies run out but with the new imacs you can get color matched peripherals there are four different peripherals that you can pick up there is the magic mouse the wireless magic mouse you can also get a magic track pad if you prefer then there is your keyboard to go along with it um but then there's also an extended keyboard if you would prefer to go that route which has the number pad and all of that on there i prefer the extended keyboard myself but you can choose any of those on purchase because these are not available anywhere else you cannot buy these standalone you have to get with the new imac so just remember that if you love the new peripherals you want them in red green blue yellow whatever color imac you're picking up the only way to get them is if you order those new machines so they look freaking awesome not to mention there's also touch id built into this keyboard that's right the new keyboards have touch id built in so you can authenticate yourself just a little tap boom i'm already into the machine right now just a tiny tap on that quarter enter passwords open apps anything a lot most the times when you have to authenticate in some way you can now do it with touch id just like you could on you know a macbook pro or macbook air any of those with touch id you can now do it on the desktop and what's even cooler is you can use these on any m1 based mac and you can still use touch id so if you have an m1 based uh you know macbook pro and you've got one of these keyboards you could pair it with your laptop and continue to use touch id to authenticate on your 13 inch macbook pro or macbook air so yeah i'm in love with these new keyboards the new mouse and trackpad they're basically the same thing but now they come in colors it's really cool it's a simple thing but i love it regardless next new feature that i want to talk about is this power cord these are the things that i love about apple like to a ridiculous degree and if i want to slow down here for just one second on something as simple as a power cord no one else does stuff like apple does who is spending this much time on a power cord to make it look and feel good as well as work even better than it did before who thought you needed a magnetic power cord for a desktop apple did nobody else is doing that and it's just something i love about apple so much they put that time and effort and care into packaging and recycling environment environmental stuff and then something as small as a power cable apple has a braided power cable that is also color matched to the machine itself the green of this cable matches the green of the stand so it just kind of blends in and creates that one look on top of that the part that goes into the imac it is color matched as well so it's aluminum around there and that aluminum has come out to the body of the imac so you've got the cable that matches the stand and then the connector that matches the body of the imac and it connects magnetically so as you bring it close it just sucks it in and it comes free easily far better than the plug design that was a pain in the butt on prior generation models this is an all-around fantastic power cable you may never be touching the cable but it is going to be on your desk and you do have to set it up at least once and apple put in the effort to make it look good feel good you know work well it is small but it is such a nice detail that apple committed to the headphone jack is my next favorite feature and this may just be you know a byproduct of the design of the new imac but it's still worth mentioning because it's a great usability change so apple as you can see stripped a lot of the parts waves in the back there's only four there we've moved ethernet to the power brick that we already talked about but where's the headphone jack apple did not abandon it on its desktop machine instead it moved it to the side now again this could just be a byproduct because this thing is so insanely thin you know just over 11 millimeters thick the fact that it's so thin there's not enough room and depth for a headphone jack to plug in so that could be why apple relocated to the side but that said it is far more usable on the side you don't have to turn it around to look for it it's right here on the side so it's on with the left side of the machine we can kind of turn that around and focus moves up it's down there so this is where the new headphone jack is and it's so much nicer to plug in directly to the side of this versus having to look around the back so i just like it it's a great change it makes it far easier to listen to audio wired on the new imac type c ports next new feature the new imac is still an entry-level machine i mean it's a 24-inch model versus the 27-inch that apple has let alone like the mac pro desktop so the 24-inch is generally considered by and large consumer maybe entry prosumer machine and apple tends to kind of take away ports on those i mean look at the retina macbook that came out with one port on it um macbook airs typically came out with two ports on there even the entry-level macbook the 13-inch macbook pros came with two ports on them like for a while so the fact that apple has four usbc or type c ports on the new machines is great now you don't get them with the entry entry level model that still comes with two usb 4 thunderbolt 3 ports but the the second step up there it does come with two usb 3 it does come with two usb 4 thunderbolt 3 ports and two usb 3.1 gen2 ports with type c connectors so you have four ports total but it's all uh type c which is amazing because if you got anything at type c you don't have to worry about usa versus usb-c like i just want more usb type-c ports i want more type-c ports on my machines and apple has four of them on here so whether you're using thunderbolt using usb you can use that one connector for everything to plug it in to the back so i just love that apple has gone all type c on these new imacs next up is the upgraded camera for like the first time apple has made a significant upgrade to the camera here definitely playing so that work from home era that we are all living in at the moment the new camera is 1080p which looks so much better on top of that the m1 processor in here has a whole new isp that's really going to boost the quality of those images there's a ton of ai machine learning stuff that apple is doing that processes these images from the camera and really improves how they look so whether you're on zoom calls whether you're taking classes anything like that the new camera is for sure going to make you look even better so apple really has done a great job in upgrading the camera on here you know larger sensor 1080p overall just a huge step up which apple desperately needed to do and my last new feature to talk about is the impressive set of speakers on this guy i'm a huge audio nut you know not an audiophile by any means but i just love great sounding audio some good bass and apple has gone above and beyond here on the new imac it really does sound exceptional and i would be very happy to ditch any stand-alone speakers for a you know less cluttered workspace and just rely on the ones built into the new imac so there are two drivers two woofers in here that are force-canceling drivers which means if you had regular woofers they went like that you'd be kind of setting your machine off balance so they have back back and forth ones that go there at the same time so they actually cancel each other out so they're force-canceling drivers which means it's not going to vibrate when all that bass is going on so those are in here apples use those in the other macs before so not a new thing for macs in general but those dual force canceling woofers in here make a big difference there's some great bass and they're also paired with the tweeter each and apple's actually able to create dolby atmos effects on this machine with the speakers like they're only coming out of the bottom but listening to this it sounds amazing and you do get that 3d sound effect just from speakers coming out of the bottom so huge deal here for me i love the speakers on this new machine whether you're listening to apple music watching movies anything you have a big beautiful four and a half k display some amazing sounding speakers i would watch movies on this anytime so that is it those are my top 10 new features of the 24 inch imac 2021 this is a fantastic machine i cannot say enough about it i love it i am more excited for what the 27 inch may have in store but if apple does anything like this i am over the moon about
