The GTX 750 Ti & GTX 950 In 2020

The Age of Older Graphics Cards: A Test of the NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950

As we continue to see advancements in technology, it's interesting to note how older graphics cards are still holding their own in certain situations. The NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950 are two examples of cards that have been around for a while but can still deliver decent performance in the right conditions.

The Average Frame Rate: 720p Low

When testing both cards at 720p low settings, we saw an average frame rate of 680fps. This is a relatively high average, and it shows that even older graphics cards can handle demanding games at lower resolutions. However, if you want to get closer to 30 frames per second, you may need to turn up the settings on both cards.

Targeting 60 FPS: A Competitive Advantage

In online FPS games, targeting 60 frames per second is crucial for a competitive environment. The more frames in a game, the better it will feel for players. With this in mind, I targeted 60 frames per second for these games and saw an average of 56fps on the NVIDIA 750 Ti at 1080p low settings. Meanwhile, the AMD Radeon 950 averaged around 63 frames per second.

Apex Legends: A Decent Result

Another eSports title that came up was Apex Legends. As expected, this game runs fairly well on these older cards. The average frame rate saw around 56fps on the NVIDIA 750 Ti and 70fps on the AMD Radeon 950 at 1080p low settings. These results are decent, considering the age of the card.

The Future of eSports Gaming

As we move forward in the world of eSports gaming, it's likely that these older cards will struggle to keep up with the demands of Triple A games. However, there are still certain games that release that can be played on even low-end hardware. The beauty of PC gaming lies in its ability to adjust settings and find a balance between performance and graphical fidelity.

A 750 Ti and 950: A Good for 30 FPS

In terms of performance, the NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950 are both good for around 30 frames per second at 1080p low settings. However, if you want to get closer to 60 frames per second, you may need to lower your resolution or turn up the settings.

The New Rise and AP: A Comparison

It's worth noting that the new Rise and AP use from AMD are likely to be a significant improvement over these older cards. If these new cards can eliminate the need for lower-end hardware like the NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950, it could change the landscape of PC gaming.

C Far Cry 5: A Test of These Cards

In testing Far Cry 5 at 1080p normal settings, we saw an average frame rate of around 38fps on both cards. However, this result was not particularly impressive, as the game struggled to maintain a smooth framerate even at lower resolutions and settings.

The Conclusion

While the NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950 may not be the most powerful graphics cards on the market, they still have their place in the world of PC gaming. Whether it's for a casual gaming experience or for those who want to mess around with graphics cards, these older cards can still deliver decent performance.

If you're considering purchasing one of these cards, it's worth noting that they are likely to be available at a good price on the used market. Additionally, as we move into 2021, it will be interesting to see how well these cards hold up against newer hardware.

In conclusion, the NVIDIA 750 Ti and AMD Radeon 950 may not be the most powerful graphics cards on the market, but they still have their place in the world of PC gaming. Whether you're looking for a casual gaming experience or just want to mess around with graphics cards, these older cards can still deliver decent performance.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone and welcome to another video oh look at that it's that time of year again time to check out the gtx 750ti now we've taken a look back at the 750 Ti in 2019 2018 probably about a million times in 2017 and 2016 but today we're taking another look back at this classic entry-level card and seeing what it can do in a handful of games we're also comparing it to the gtx 950 and today's one as well so we've got two results in one video know I've been benchmarking both of these cards over the past couple of weeks whenever I got a chance just seeing how different areas of different games performed to be honest and I think it's safe to say that well these cards aren't going to make it too much further into the near future in terms of supporting modern triple-a title you that's just my opinion there are some games that will run okay on these cards still but I've got a few results here I want to talk about them all individually today in comparison to each other because well the gaps in some games may not be as big as you would expect but in others you'd be better off spending extra in getting a 950 that's if you wanted one of these cards so let's talk pricing here in UK at cex the 950 is only 10 pounds more than the 750ti both of these cards are of course used in its cex you don't always know what card you're going to get unless you go in the shop and view it there just listed as what they are on the website and whatever turns up well that's just down to pure coincidence say for example you purchased a 950 from cex you don't know whether you'd be getting just a standard EVGA model or an overclocked a soos model sort of a nice surprise in a way but enough about that let's talk a little bit about these results so the first game I started with today was fortnight obviously a very popular title and one that isn't too hard to run I've noticed that it tends to have more trouble with different CPUs in terms of stutter things like that when it comes to budget oriented graphics cards well it does a little bit better than say an entry-level CPU would if you get what I mean and that 750ti averaged about 69 frames per second not about exactly average 69 frames per second at 1080p medium with a 1% low of 44 this was a pretty respectable result all things considered it's always a mystery going into fortnight how it's going to perform because it seems to change with every update but 69 frames per second with medium settings is very respectable now this was sort of outside of town areas outside of those busy area so the frame rate may of course differ depending on where you are but I think that can be said for pretty much all of the games tested today in comparison at the gtx 950 actually hit 79 frames per second so 10 frames more off to a good start in terms of the averages because the 950 here in the UK cost 10 pounds more and for that in fortnight you're getting 10 frame which I think's a nice a nice extra there 47 was the 1% low so not much difference between the 750ti and the 950 in terms of that percentile figure but honestly the 750ti and 950 are both going to handle fortnight relatively well providing you don't crank those settings up too high or epic and of course if you wanted even more frames then low or even a lower resolution would be a better way to go Red Dead Redemption 2 of course a massive open world adventure here 720p low was the best option for the 750ti at least but in the interest of fairness I kept those settings for the 950 as well just so that the comparison was the same basically 36 frames per second with the 750ti Atlee low settings the 1% low was recorded at 30 but you will get a few more dips below that especially as you approach busier in town areas again this benchmark was taken sort of just roaming about in the wilderness following animals about following random NPCs about just messing about with the game doing a little bit of fishing things like that things that you generally do when you jump into Red Dead Redemption 2 and you've got a couple of hours to spare the 9:50 averaged 50 frames per second so again that was a nice improvement 14 FPS over the 750ti with a 1% o of 41 this was 11 frames per second higher than the 750ti so yeah what I will say though is that I also did notice a few framedrops below that with the 950 as you approach busier areas I think these figures are going to be closer the 1% lows that is but again 720p low probably the best way to play with both cards if you're looking to get as many frames per second as possible though if you are happy with 30 FPS then you could probably adjust the settings with the 950 you could probably turn things up to maybe 1080p or at least 900 P let's say and continue to achieve at least 30 fps but it's all about trying out different settings and seeing what works best for you Red Dead Redemption 2 as well with some of these Elba cards you have to adjust the settings outside of the game in your documents because the game won't let you adjust them in the menu it will say that you're exceeding the vram limit so sometimes it can be a pain to start up and adjust on older hardware Call of Duty warzone was another game I was quite concerned about to be honest but it seems fairly well optimized to 720p low here even on the 750ti we were seeing 50 frames per second on average with a 1% low of 35 so this was a much better result than I thought if you want closer to 60 the only way here is to really adjust the resolution scale or just drop the resolution to 800 by 600 that's for 60 FPS on 750ti the 950 will hit at least 60 frames per second 63 was the average at 720p low again but if you want closer to 30 then you could definitely turn the settings up on both cards I tend to target 60 on these online FPS games because I think the more frames in a competitive environment the better so keep that in mind but yeah 50 on average for the 750ti and 63 for the 950 so a couple of decent enough results there I think especially considering the age of the card another pretty decent result was Apex legends again this is another eSports title so those sort of eSports games will run fairly well apex and fall now are going to be ideal for these older cards now the 750ti with 1080p and the low settings in apex legends we saw 56 fps on average there so not bad with a 1% out of 34 obviously as you get closer to more built-up areas or you just get into more gunplay things like that the frame rate will drop a little bit on the 950 we saw 70 FPS which again is quite impressive considering the card and the 1% low was recorded as 47 so really not a bad effort from either card there I think they both did quite well what I will say though is that it's going to be interesting to see how well the new rise and AP use compare when they come out I mean they could eliminate the need for lower end and older cars like this but we just have the way in C Far Cry 5 to finalize the 1080p normal this was one of the most demanding titles despite being a couple of years old 38 with the 750ti and normal settings and a 1% out of 32 there really wasn't much data to report here the game stayed fairly smooth it's just that the average framerate was quite low to begin with the 950 however did a little bit better about 4 frames better to be honest with 42 fps on average and a 1% low of 36 so yeah both cards are going to perform closely here or closer than in the rest of the results so either way the 750 Ti and 950 a good for 30 fps but if you want closer to 60 then I'd recommend not only a lower resolution but lower in game settings to know more was what the game defaulted to on both occasions as I've said before it'll be interesting to see how the new rise and AP use compare to these cars but when they come out I'll certainly be testing things like that out you'll probably get a whole week full of rising apu video so I apologize in advance but the 750 Ti and gtx 950 in 2020 well they're both just about hanging in there though as we move forward I think we're going to start to see these struggling even more and eventually it'll get to the point perhaps mid next year when Triple A games will require a lot more power I think I've probably said that a couple of times in previous years to be honest and there will always be certain games that release that are playable on even low-end hardware that's the beauty of PC gaming you can adjust the settings how you wish with all that said and done then well thank you very much for watching I hope you've enjoyed yet another look at the 750 Ti this time in comparison to the 950 now both are still probably best suited to 720p gaming but honestly we mention the AP use just now it may be worth just getting an APU instead a 3403 for example and they're running with the integrated graphics until you can afford to upgrade or if you want something with equal graphics well it will be interesting to see whether or not as I say how the 4000 series AP use from AMD hold up because we might see a need no more for cards such as this but I really hope that isn't the case because they serve than the are fun to mess around with if you find a 750ti and 950 on the used market though and it's going for what is considered a good price where you live well you'll still get some enjoyment out of them albeit at lower resolutions and if like me you just want a graphics card to mess around with because you like that sort of thing well it's always nice and surprising when you fire up a game and it runs better than you thought Red Dead Redemption 2 is not one of those examples but there are still plenty out there and as we move into 2021 in a few months time I can't believe I'm saying that already well whether or not these cars will finally meet their maker is yet to be decided but thank you for watching if you like this video leave a like on it leave a dislike if you didn't subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already and hopefully I'll see you all in the next onehello everyone and welcome to another video oh look at that it's
