Last Minute Drift Comp!

**A Thrilling Experience at OKC's First-Ever Comp**

The excitement was palpable as drivers gathered at OKC's first-ever comp, eagerly anticipating the chance to showcase their skills behind the wheel. For one driver, however, the experience would be even more special - he had never competed in a comp before and was determined to make the most of it.

As the competition got underway, the driver reflected on his approach to driving. "I probably would have been one more time if he didn't miss that part on his lead," he admitted, referring to another driver who had missed a crucial mark on their lead run. The importance of a perfect lead run cannot be overstated - it sets the tone for the entire competition and can make all the difference in securing top spots.

The driver's own lead run was impressive, but not without its challenges. "I find the wise fab at big angle can kind of slow me down," he revealed, highlighting one of the key issues with his setup that had affected his performance. He vowed to experiment with different settings and adjustments to improve his handling and reduce his reliance on nitrous.

As the competition heated up, the driver found himself in a nail-biting finish. "I'm excited this has been fun," he exclaimed, thrilled to have pushed himself to new heights. Despite struggling with the Z's linear power band without the aid of nitrous, he had persevered and enjoyed the challenge.

The winner of the comp was announced, and congratulations were poured in on social media for all the drivers who had participated. The event's organizer, Chris, took to the stage to congratulate the top three finishers - Adam, Taylor, and a newcomer who would take home second place.

**A Lesson Learned**

One driver, Matt, revealed that he was initially intimidated by the prospect of competing in a comp. "I've been finding the more comps that I do, whether it be FD or even smaller comms, I'm really really showing progression to myself with my way that I'm able to handle competition mentally," he explained, reflecting on his growth as a competitor.

Matt's experience was all the more special given that he had been unable to attend the comp due to prior commitments. "I wound up going up to Matt Mormon's and we hung out for a bit and talked about some plans for the new shop," he revealed, sharing an insight into his behind-the-scenes life.

As the event drew to a close, the drivers gathered to discuss their experiences and share tips and advice. The atmosphere was lively and supportive, with everyone eager to learn from one another.

**Looking Ahead**

The competition may be over for now, but the excitement is already building for the next event. Jordan will be taking center stage in his new 335, and the team is working tirelessly to fine-tune their setup. "We packed full r34 stuff and g350 sequential stuff," he revealed, hinting at a thrilling display of speed and agility.

With the modified league on the horizon, drivers are eagerly anticipating the chance to put their skills to the test in an even more challenging environment. The future is looking bright for this talented group of competitors, and we can't wait to see what's in store for them.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys welcome to today's video i feel like there's no secret i'm definitely a late riser so for me to get up at 6 30 in the morning this morning it was tough i for some reason i feel like i'm a kid nervous for his first day of school because i couldn't go to sleep but i don't think i had anything to do with that today there's actually like two mini comps at the okc car track that we drifted a while back and i kind of slept on the modified league which would have been where i would drive the e36 started to get fomo once i realized that taylor and a lot of my friends were driving and then a spot popped open for their street league which is basically like a 400 horsepower limit street tire regulated class and there's only 16 drivers in each so it's gonna be a pretty quick comp but it looked like a lot of fun it's a cool little tiny track and i decided i'd take my z over so today we're going to be competing in the good old trusty black sea which ironically hasn't been so trusty marco's been helping this whole week at the whole power steering system swap because it's only lasting like an event per power steering pump there's a lot of metal in the system and then on top of that my clutch slave stopped working so we had to fix that she's been fighting us so we'll see if she lasts through the day i believe in her though good old rigs looking nice i forgot to mention as well i sold one of the yellow fds so we're down to just the ls1 right now um and then the other one that you guys haven't seen yet but off to the track we go uh cool thing is there's a lot more i don't think rowdy cars but a little bit crazier cars that you'd see out like a texas street eagle since the 400 horsepower limitation noteworthy would be there's a couple i don't think rowdy starts but i think there's the jcs13 there's a like rad japanese style srs13 then the rest are like z's and mustangs i think like one corvette um but there's pretty cool array of cars i'm actually i'm going to run no nitrous on my leads and run nitrous in my followers just so i don't waste it but uh it's raining so that's azi's best friend all right first lap car feels really loose alignment's not exactly how i'd like it but um make some alignment reach the car had a bunch of towed in had a bunch of toe in and uh he's driving like very badly it should be better now um because you can't get my car to have the bite that i need in the rain it's real bad um so there's actually only a top 16 here it's kind of a small field unfortunately my good friend leo who i was excited to go against had some bad luck from the rb gods and his engine blue in practice so we've got a bye run and i tried changing my tires to something that might be a little bit better in the rain i found that tires that kind of have like the v pattern are very bad in the rain i think it's because it kind of pushes them where tires kind of like super sport tread pattern that have like vertical pull slit grooves or way better in the rain so i'm gonna try a different tire for my buy run and see if it works a bit better because i'm struggling keeping up with some cars uh um all right so i lead first with one of our friends christian chasing and his z um should be fun i do like the tire set up a little bit better than i did before um um i feel like a solid lead car feels better we'll see uh how we do 350 versus 350 here foreign ginger was trying to spot and give me a uh an indication of what to do i couldn't see what number jin's put up in the air though oh i think i accidentally was rubbing him and pushing a little bit in the beginning that was not a purpose right um why we got the wind all right top four here we go hmm that was good he was a little off um one of the weird outer zones on his lead that's really going to hurt him if i can get to that part myself overall he had a great lead run he just missed that one outer zone right there it's a bit tricky um but it'll cost you if you miss it because it kind of really affects the chase driver there that's kind of just to prevent people from like bee-lining through the course me probably would have been one more time if he didn't miss that part on his lead unfortunately um just like fd the lead weighs a huge importance because if you don't put down a perfect lead run it's very hard for someone to do a good follow thanks man you too black z versus black z for finals i'm excited this has been fun i actually feel like although it may look like i'm very good at driving my z um on videos because i've had so many good tandems with my friends like ginge and stuff in a competitive format i struggle to drive this car so i find the wise fab at big angle can kind of slow me down i think part of it has to do with my setup i want to try playing around with the ackermann washers but i have to be very careful because if i land the throttle too much it'll wash me at the angle and then it's almost like a snow plow effect where the front wheels stop me from going and it's hard for me to quickly transition and that was always a big problem of mine driving this car whenever i did comps and stuff um but we shall see i'm going to do my best it's been a lot of fun and i'm glad that i was able to get into this comp today in fact i haven't used the nitrous at all i've been kind of enjoying the linear power band of the z without nitrous and i'm scared that if i did turn it on it might just like blow the wheels off but it's been fun i might use it if there's one more time or if i feel that i really need the power but the course has been wet where i don't even think i'd be able to make use of extra power um uh that was fun now all we got to do is just a nice chill lead and have some fun ah um yo you want to do donuts here okay good driving bro we didn't even use nitrous boys that was some good fun um all right guys coming in in third place we got chris jumping on up there he's holding the piston and a check third place 50 store credit amazing okc battle royale winner in second place hey congratulations to adam absolutely come on out there guys congratulate all of the drivers every single one of those people here to win everybody oh look at those smiles ear to ear except the guy wearing a mask can't see it i know it's here to hear under there guys i know i'm hearing a buzzing noise oh there's the ground what is this proximity up in here this is one two three all these they need to add a lot more color though what is this am i dirty showed up this whole event made me so jealous that my z wasn't here that's the important part i think he could have done well yeah but if i took over where the other guy was gonna drive i would have been against you round one hey you better take on the w brother hell yeah taylor's gonna take home the win in the modified league maybe next time i'll get to join him that's gonna be it for this video it was a lot of fun and i've been finding the more comps that i do whether it be fd or even smaller comms i'm really really showing progression to myself with my way that i'm able to handle competition mentally i feel like before i used to just get the jitters and i used to get in my own head and i'm slowly just getting more comfortable and just more accustomed to it so it was a blast i had a ton of fun driving and i was excited to be part of the first ever comp at okc so hopefully they do more and hopefully i can drive the e36 at the next one in the modified league um but in the meantime uh in this video i'm actually filming after the fact but i wound up going up to matt mormon's and we hung out for a bit and talked about some plans for the new shop so hopefully getting close hoping we could be moving around mid-march time and i wanted to you know order some shop equipment and chat with him so anyway that's it for this video it was a good fun z video and then i think the next video you guys will see uh jordan's coming by we're going to finalize the 335 make sure that things are in tip-top condition and then from there it's going to be exciting we packed full r34 stuff and g350 sequential stuff when you saywhat's up
