The Apple watch series to any faster than the Apple watch series 1 and we're keeping in the line our original Apple watch, we've added the same dual-core processor that's in series 2, so it's just as snappy and it starts at just $269.
Apples Jeff Williams answered that very question on stage at the iPhone 7 keynote, yet I feel like there's still some lingering confusion about the performance of the series 1 versus the series 2. So we're going to run through a few tests here just to prove that the performance is exactly the same when it comes to just pure speed and that's because both devices contain the same dual-core processor, which is what it'd be much faster than the original Apple watch.
The first test that we're doing here is just a quick reboot test. I rebooted both devices at the exact same time, and you can see they both reboot pretty much at the exact same time. Our next test is a Siri test. So I just say "hey Siri what time is it in Chicago", and you can see it's pretty much neck-and-neck. We'll do another test. Hey Siri who's the President of the United States, checking sources, and you can see pretty much spot on both neck and neck now. Let's do one more test. Hey Siri what's 40 times 20, and you can see the result right there exact same time.
Now, let's perform some app launching tests. So we're going to launch the music app for the very first time on both watches at the same time. You can see actually the series 2 was a little behind but pretty much the same. Let's try another test, launching the Settings app for the very first time and pretty much exactly the same. Now we'll do stocks, and pretty much the same so as you can see no speed difference between these two devices here we're going to do a third-party app this time dark sky exactly the same, and one more third-party app let's do fantastical all right here we go, and unsurprisingly the result is the same.
Now that's not to say that there are no differences between the Apple watch series 1 and series 2 but speed shouldn't be among those differences.
