How to 540 BMX

**Learning 540s: A Guide to Mastering the Art of Spinning**

When it comes to learning 540s, one of the most important things to keep in mind is that you'll want to keep your head turned if you can. This simple concept is the key to mastering the art of spinning on a bike. As you progress through the learning process, you'll find that keeping your head turn becomes an essential part of the trick.

One of the best ways to learn 540s is by practicing with a file. If you have a file, it's a little bit easier to learn them on, but if you have a bank, you can also learn them out of that too. The difference between doing it out of a flyout and doing it out of a bank is how you pull. When you're trying it out of a flyout like a quarter with a coping, you'll probably want to try it out of something between four and seven feet. This will give you good pop and allow you to travel far.

As you start learning 540s, one of the biggest mistakes people make is carving too much. Carving can cause you to lose your rotation and end up going off-axis. Instead, focus on keeping your head turned and pulling hard. This simple trick will help you stay on track and master the 540 in no time.

**The Difference Between Out of a Flyout and Out of a Bank**

When trying out of a flyout, you'll want to push through the coping with good speed and keep your head turn. The key is to not carve too much, as this will cause you to lose your rotation and end up going off-axis. On the other hand, when trying it out of a bank, you'll need to pull straight up instead of pushing through the coping. This can be a bit more challenging, but with practice, you'll find that it's easier than you think.

**Tips for Mastering 540s**

One common mistake people make is not going fast enough or keeping their head turned. To avoid this, focus on going faster and keeping your head turn. The secret to mastering every trick on a bike is simple: keep your head turned, pull hard, and go faster. With practice and patience, you'll be landing 540s in no time.

**The Importance of Having Fun**

Learning 540s can be challenging, but it's also a lot of fun. If you're not having fun while learning a trick, you're not going to master it. So, remember to enjoy the process and don't get discouraged if you don't pick it up right away.

**Real-Life Examples of 540 Success**

While I'm sure there are some people out there who claim to have learned 540s in an hour, these claims are often exaggerated. However, with dedication and practice, anyone can master this trick. So, don't be discouraged if you're not one of them right away.

**The Importance of Practice and Patience**

Mastering 540s takes time and patience. Don't expect to learn it overnight, but instead focus on the process and enjoy the journey. With consistent practice and dedication, you'll be landing 540s in no time.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys I'm Adam LZ and today I'm going to be teaching you how to do a 540 so there's two different ways you can learn this you can learn it out of a bank or you can learn it out of a flyout um if you have a file it's a little bit easier to learn them on but if you have a bank you can learn them out of that too it's a little bit different for each method so I'm gonna kind of explain a little differently but the key concept for 540s overall is just that you're going to want to keep your head turned if you can 360 all you have to do is go like a few cranks faster and keep your head turn then your shoulders and your legs and every body part you have and that will just keep you spinning with the rotation so that's really key going faster you're going to need to go faster to spin harder and then obviously know how to fakie so you can roll out of the trick so the difference between doing it out of a file and doing it out of a bank is how you pull if you're doing it out of a flyout like a quarter with a coping you're probably good to try it out of like something between four and seven feet probably four and six feet seven feets a little steep something that gives you good pop but also lets you travel far because you're going to want to cruise up the lip with some good speed and you're going to actually have to push through it one of the worst things that you can do is carve because then what you'll end up doing is either hitting your back wheel because you're like spinning too fast or you'll nosedive and you'll start doing like corked fives and you'll land nose-heavy and it just won't work so don't really worry too much about carving just kind of like push through it and keep your head turn that's pretty much all you need to do to do it out of fly out when you're trying out of banks it is harder but if you can already do it up fly out it'll be a piece of cake so out of banks the big difference is you're still not gonna want to carve much but instead of pushing through the coping you're gonna want to pull straight up it's like if you've ever done like a pencil dive off a diving board or something you just want to pull straight up and you kind of like you don't carve but your back wheel cars for you so you just want to go with a really good amount of speed it almost feels like you're going faster when you're down banks because you have to travel a little bit farther but a steeper banks obviously can be easier but just cruise out of the bank and just pull straight up don't carve if you carve it's not going to work you're going to get hurt I mean you won't get hurt that bad cuz it's just 540 but seriously like just go at the bank and just pull straight up keep your head turn and you will get it so some common mistakes that I see when people are learning 540's the biggest thing is people are carving too much that will make you like off-axis you won't be able to get the rotation on people that are just having a hard time getting the rotation you're probably not keeping your head turned or you're probably not going fast enough if you're doing like almost four 50s and you're getting close you probably want to go a little bit faster and keep your head turn because seriously I say that's over and over again every out to and it's why my how-tos are successful keep your head turned pull hard and go faster it is literally the secret to learning every single trick on a bike but most of all just make sure you have fun with it because if you're not having fun you're not gonna learn the trick you don't want to be like one of those kids it just goes out and rides in his driveway by himself listening to like wu-tang clan on his iPod if you're out with your friends you know just messing around it's another one of those tricks like I don't like to make how to's they take a while to learn because then you guys kind of get discouraged you like all your how-to didn't help but I mean you're gonna have to keep trying to 540's it's not something you're going to get in an hour although I'm sure there's gonna be someone that comments it's like yo I just watch this video I just went to the skate park won five forties in like an hour and like props to you if I had a comeback bar I would give you one but I mean seriously just have fun with it pull hard keep your head turned land do
