6 Back to School DIYs to have the BEST SCHOOL YEAR EVER - All Request August - @HGTVHandmade
A Fun and Creative Back-to-School DIY Guide
We're excited to share some fun and creative DIY ideas to make your back-to-school experience even more enjoyable. Our first project is to give your textbook a beautiful makeover using a paper bag cover. Yes, you read that right - a paper bag! Who would have thought that something so simple could be transformed into a stunning cover for your favorite textbook? We started by putting a beautiful paper bag on our textbook, making sure it was nice and tight.
Next, we wanted to add some color to our DIY project. That's when the colorful duct tape came out. We applied it to the paper bag cover in a fun and creative pattern, making it look extra cute. This is a great way to make learning more fun and engaging. So many of you asked for suggestions on how to decorate a plain notebook, and now we have just the solution - metal studs! These are easy to use and can be attached to your notebook cover with just a few simple steps.
We took each metal stud and poked it through the notebook cover, being careful not to stab ourselves in the finger. Then, we used something hard like the edges of our scissors to kind of fold all of those spikes down. Pretty soon, we had a super cute notebook that looked amazing. To make sure they stayed in place all year long, we opened up the notebook and put a little bit of tape on the back of each stud. We love how they kind of look like brightly colored candy - it's a fun way to add some personality to your school supplies.
Color coding is another great way to organize your school supplies. You can choose different colors for each subject, such as green for math class or purple for English class. This makes it super visual and easy to see what you need at a glance. For example, if you're heading to the locker, you'll know exactly which books to grab for your next class. We loved this idea so much that we even got comments from viewers asking how to decorate a pencil case.
We took our clear pencil case and used neon embroidery thread to create a fun design. This was a great way to add some personality to our school supplies without breaking the bank. We did a simple zigzag pattern, but you can get as intricate as you like depending on how bored you are during the summer months. Once we finished decorating, we stuck our pens and pencils inside, and voila! We had a brand new custom pencil case that was both functional and stylish.
For those who struggle with sharing their school supplies, we have a fun solution - customized pens and pencils! We took some plain pencils and covered them with washi tape, labeling each one with our name. This is a great way to prevent someone from stealing your pen or pencil without having to resort to harsh measures. Now, everyone knows who owns what, and nobody's going to steal your supplies again.
We also wanted to share a fun hack for making reusable flashcards. We took some dry erase tape and covered each flashcard with it on the front and back, trimming off any excess. Then, we wrote whatever we like on the front and back, and erased it if we want to make it say something else. This is perfect for studying for a quiz or test that's just around the corner. However, if you're going to be studying for weeks on end, you may want to consider traveling with reusable flashcards.
We even made some fun flashcards using our favorite subject - first-year Spanish. We didn't know much at first, but after making these flashcards, we were able to recall a few basic phrases like "hola" (hello). We apologize to all the Royal Spanish teachers out there for not knowing more. But don't worry, with practice and dedication, you'll be speaking fluent Spanish in no time.
Before we wrap up this article, we want to remind you that we have some amazing DIY projects coming your way. back-to-school are you going back to school totally this is Ryan Ryan Thomas wood I gotta tell them about your channel oh well I do comedy vlog sassiness Mean Girls Starbucks everything you need so in this video we are doing some back-to-school DIYs be excited I'm very excited do you ever do DIY projects I suck I do what my mom says they're very nice okay well these are so easy like even your is going to be beautiful okay why so far birth yeah why we're gonna be making our text books looking really cute and this is my 410 text phone so we're gonna start by covering them with a very simple paper bag so now that we're done putting a beautiful paper bag on our beautiful textbook we're now going to apply some very colorful duct tape to make it look extra cute so now we've finished our DIY textbook cover my favorite colors to make learning so much more fun so so many of you guys were asking for suggestions on how to decorate a plain notebook and nobody's like these that have kind of the plastic a covers are a little hard to work with why not use metal studs basically you just take each one and kind of poke it through the notebook cover and be careful not to stab yourself in the finger then turn it over and use something hard like the edges of your scissors to kind of fold all of those spikes down and pretty soon you'll have a super cute notebook that looks like this if you really want to make sure that they stay in place all year long just open it up put a little eat six tiles eggs onto the back of each one I love how they kind of look like brightly colored candy I think this is super cute for back-to-school so fun way to organize is the color code everything you'll need for your closet for example you can choose green for your math class which would include your textbook a notebook and binder or for English class you can choose a subtle shade of purple color coding makes it super visual so when you're going to the locker you know which books to grab for your next class so probably the number one comment we got was how to decorate a pencil case I love clear cases like this because you can super easily see what you have inside I think embroidering on it with on neon embroidery thread is really cute for the school year right your needle and then just do any sort of pattern that you like I did some zigzags a straight line a kind of square sort of pattern you can get as intricate as you like depending on how bored you are this summer and then you can just stick your tens and pencils inside and you've got yourself if grants pink and new custom pencil case you can't sit with us people who steal our pens and pencils so we're going to decorate them with washi tape and then label them with our names first step is to take your pencil and cover it with washi tape next write your name really really tiny so you can put it on the pencil and then just cut it out next you're gonna cut a piece of backing tape and apply your name to the pencil you can do this in all different patterns of washi tape and also put it on your pens as well and now nobody's ever gonna steal your pencil or pants cuz your name's gonna be on it and now they can sit with you so the way that I probably learned the best when I was in school was with flashcards because it really forces you to make sure that you can recall all the information that you have to know and spit it out again before the test so I went through stacks and stacks and like hundreds and hundreds of flashcards but if you want to make some reusable flashcards just grab some dry erase tape cover each flashcard with dry erase tape on the front and on the back trimming off any excess and then you can write whatever you like on the front and the back and you can erase it if you want to make it say something else it's super easy and completely reusable obviously since this is dry erase it does kind of get scratched up pretty easily so these are really what you're gonna want to travel with or use you're gonna be studying for like weeks on end but if you're studying for like a quiz the next day and you just need something super temporary to run through a few times this is perfect you may have noticed that I made mine um like first-year Spanish because I am terrible at Spanish hola pretty much the extent of my knowledge I apologize to all the Royal Spanish teachers so thank you guys so
