**My Phone Experience: A Tour of My Android Device**
I'm John Rer from TechnoBuffalo, and I'll take you on a tour of my Android device. As an editor, I've got to stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, and my phone is no exception.
**Editorial Disagreement**
If you're new to this channel, be sure to check out the New York Times app. They offer 10 free articles, and then there are other subscription options available. Don't worry if you disagree with me – that's what editorial discussions are all about! I use Drop Cam to stay connected with my family and friends. It's a handy tool that allows me to check in on my son and see what he's up to. Other apps I swear by include ESPN, DoorDash, and YouTube.
**Favorite Apps**
I'm a big fan of the ESPN app, which gives me alerts whenever my teams are playing. DoorDash is another favorite – it delivers food right to my doorstep, which is super convenient. I've also got a few quick dials set up for my wife and home. The YouTube app is always handy, too, with its real-time updates on my videos.
**Visual Voicemail**
One feature that's been a game-changer for me is Visual Voicemail. Android still doesn't have a great built-in client, so I've got the double-tap-to-launch camera hack down pat. It's saved me from having to dig through my pocket every time I get a call.
**Social Media and Productivity**
I use a widget that lets me switch between ring and vibrate notifications easily – it's been a lifesaver. Some sites, like Vit Stats X, help me track our subscription growth and monitor storage space. Dropbox is another cloud storage solution that I'm using more and more often, mostly because they offer so much storage space.
**Backup Solutions**
Sugar SN is another backup solution that I use for all my desktop files. It's reliable and easy to use. QuickPick is another tool that helps me pull in all of my oneDrive and Dropbox pictures with ease. For managing my stock portfolio, I rely on Amazon Music – it's a solid app that always delivers.
**Built-in Verizon Features**
I'm using some built-in Verizon features, like One Password, which has been a revelation for me. It's saved me from forgetting passwords time and again. Facebook's Hello Dialer is another tool I've tried – it's surprisingly decent.
**Samsung Apps and Google Play**
The Samsung apps that come with my device are as you'd expect: messaging, camera, etc. The New York Times app is also a favorite of mine – it offers real-time updates on news articles. Of course, there's the usual Google Play fare, like Gmail, Google Maps, and more.
**Productivity Hacks**
One hack that I swear by is Pushbullet – it's basically continuity for Android. With pushbullet, I can text from my browser, access notifications, and even get alerts on my desktop. VLC is another app that helps me play all sorts of video files with ease.
**United Airlines and Real Estate Market**
As a United Airlines frequent flyer, I've got the airline app installed on my device. It's super convenient to track flights and earn miles. Redfin is another app that keeps me informed about what's happening in the real estate market – it's always useful to stay up-to-date.
**Nova Launcher**
My phone runs on Nova Launcher, which has a clean and minimalistic design. I've tried to keep my home screen as simple as possible, using widgets like the weather forecast and calendar. But I'd love to hear from you – what launcher do you use? What widgets are you currently using?
**Discussion Time**
We'd love to hear from you! What's your favorite app or widget on your Android device? Do you prefer Google Now or some other launcher? Let us know in the comments below, and we'll try to help each other get the most out of our Android phone experiences.
