I've never seen an 8K 120 HZ TV was especially neat one because it's not like I get to use an 8K display every single day so that was fun seeing all the pixels with my own eyes, the detail and all the sharpness was awesome. But also, the four factor of this display was also shockingly thin and sleek. It's funny while shooting b-roll for this product a lot of people were actually walking up to the spokespeople asking if it was an OLED display which is honestly quite telling. While the particular design you're seeing on camera right now is more of a demo SL proof of concept for what manufacturer can do with this display.
I quite like the glass bottom with the integrated Soundbar, the whole thing just looks like it's floating allowing it to blend into its surroundings rather nicely and honestly I wouldn't mind seeing more TVs implement this. Says that this 8K panel on top of engineering all of the display components into a very thin form factor is also built with more environmentally conscious materials and on top of that runs more efficiently as well, exploring around the booth a bit more there were also a handful of specialty displays to check out.
There were also a handful of specialty displays to check out, that were quite unique for example there was this 163 in micro LED screen which is made up of nearly 25 million LED chips with amazing pixel pitch for a smooth looking image. This thing gets hella bright at nearly 10,000 nits and with an over 1 million to 1 contrast ratio images absolutely popped on it. Something also rather neat was this 158 in ultrawide smart Blackboard, Blends both LCD and LED technology together to make an insanely wide display surface which also has multi-touch functionality throughout though I wasn't able to actually test this out.
It does sport a 120 HZ refresh rate, which should make it really responsive to use, and you can actually configure this thing with extra extensions to make the display as long as you want. Moving right along another type of display that caught my eye primarily because of its name is CSO's inkjet OLED displays now this might sound somewhat profound as this is a term that's more associated with printers than TVs but the idea here is that CSO are actually using an inkjet manufacturing process to make these panels.
The main benefit here compared to traditional W-OLEDs or QD-OLEDs namely has to do with production efficiency, which for us as consumers translates into potentially cheaper OLEDs at retail. But what's also cool with inkjet OLEDs is actually the sub-pixel layout of these panels which are straight up plain RGB compared to the arrangement on W-OLEDs or QD-OLEDs it should actually make for cleaner-looking fine lines and text, as someone who actually uses an OLED monitor at home this is something that I really hope takes off soon.
However, I saved the best for last, what really got me the most curious out of any of the things in the TCL CSO booth was this 105 in curved gaming monitor. You can imagine that with a display like this you would need some sort of crazy setup to support it but yet this has a 5120 x 2160 resolution so 21:9, it's got a 3000 to-1 contrast ratio, a fast 120 HZ refresh rate and most critically a 3,000 R curve. I've definitely tried my fair share of large and curved ultrawide monitors in the past but this one absolutely takes the cake as the most insane one that I've ever experienced.
Granted, you're probably not supposed to use that screen super up close like I did but boy is the immersion up there if you do. Not only does it fill your peripheral visions from the side but also top and bottom as well seriously cool stuff. We think this would be good for multipurpose movie watching, so maybe you can just buy one, you can enjoy everyone yeah, I can see this working very well for something like a racing simulator setup.
But let me know what you'd play with a large ultrawide monitor like this one in the comments below. Also, huge thanks to TCL CSO for inviting me out here to their booth at SID Display Week 2024 as well as for sponsoring this video. I will leave a link below to check them out and otherwise, thanks very much for watching this video on Dany Channel
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe've taken a look at many kinds of displays on this channel but nothing like the absolute behemoths I'll be looking at today I'm here in San Jose California at Sid display week 2024 where TCL csot is sponsoring a look at some of the cool stuff they have coming up on the horizon bet you didn't know that the San Jose Convention Center is also right next to the airport which makes shooting outside very fun TCL obviously is a reputable brand for both TVs and electronics in general but as a brand TCL csot is a market leading manufacturer that actually supplies display panels to companies for them to include in their own products they actually had a whole Booth of them including this 115in LCD display which csot says is not only the first one of its kind but it's also the largest mass-produced 4K LCD TV period not only is this thing huge but the specs on it are also impressive to back it up thanks to hva technology chatting with one of the lead spokes people for the company he said that compared to Conventional VA panels that we have on a lot of TV sets hva can allow for higher contrast faster response times and this TV can actually go up to to 144 hzz refresh rate absolutely insane for a TV this large the screen gets bright at 5,000 nit and has a contrast ratio of 7,000 to1 with over 20,000 dimming zones all of this adds up to an image that csot believes can look more impressive even than OLED at least in perceived contrast so the image quality I think much higher than uh conventional and if anything it's just staggering to stand in front of looking beyond that gigantic 115in TV csot also showed off their 85 in UD wha Pro display that is quite the mouthful but the main thing with this panel according to them is that it'll actually be supplied to other companies as a centerpiece for some Flagship consumer TVs and I must say it looks very good unlike the plane that's flying directly over me and causing a lot of noise 6,000 to1 contrast ratio with very vibrant colors at least to my eyes also of note the viewing angles on this TV were particularly great thanks to that hva technology rated at 178° I can absolutely confirm that it looks good from all sides probably among the best of the LCDs that I've ever seen this 8K 120 HZ TV was especially neat one because it's not like I get to use an 8K display every
