Getting a Colored Keyboard on iOS 5: A Guide by Daily I Fix Com
Hey guys, it's Brandon here from Daily I Fix Com, and today we're going to talk about getting a colored keyboard on your iPhone running iOS 5. Now, I know that this used to be one of my favorite jailbreak tweets back in the day, but it hasn't worked for some firmware as it has for some, but I'm here to tell you that it does work for iOS 5.
So, let's get started by showing you how to do it. First, we're just going to click on this button and see what happens. As you can see, we have a red keyboard, and once we click something, it's like black right there. But the good news is that we can actually change that, so let's do that.
This is a fully functioning keyboard, and everything works perfectly. There are no glitches or anything like that, and it's a lot of colors to choose from. I know you've probably heard of Color Keyboard before; it's been out for a while but has just been updated to be compatible with iOS 5. Now, let's show you some of the settings for this color keyboard.
It's in your main settings app, and right there we can see that it says "Color Keyboard". To enable this, you'll need to go through these steps. First, you need to go into your general settings, then scroll down until you find "Keyboard", and click on it. From here, you can select the keyboard type, customize backgrounds, border radius, and more.
I know some of you might be interested in customizing the background of your keyboard, and that's cool if you get the right background. But to be honest, I'm not really into that stuff, so let's just stick with the themes for now. As you can see, we have a lot of colors to choose from, including black/white, original pink, pink nude, matte MacBook Pro silver, and more.
Let's switch to something else just to show you what it looks like. Since I'm a Steelers fan, let me show you how to get a black and yellow keyboard. We're going to uncheck the red one, because we don't need that color. Now, let's select the pop-up key. You can choose from black, blue, green, or orange. And let's make it a matte dark for this example.
Now, let's save our changes. If you do everything correctly, your springboard will tell you to restart, so let's do that. Wait for it to respring, and then you should see the results immediately. Alright, so now we have a black keyboard with yellow down here, which is really cool. And as I click on it, it looks like white right there, but it's actually matte gray.
So, how can you get this awesome tweak? First, you need to go into Cydia, and then search for "Color Keyboard". It's available on the BigBoss repo, so make sure you're using that. And if you do your research or just type in "color keyboard" all one word, you'll see the results.
Now, I know some of you might be wondering why I didn't mention earlier that this tweak works for iOS 5. Well, it's because I'm not sure, but it does work, and it's available on version 1.17. So, if you have iOS 5 and want to try out this tweak, go ahead and install it.
One of the best things about having a customized keyboard is that it adds a nice personality to your phone. It makes your device stand out from others, and you can show off your style with different colors and themes. So, if you're looking for a way to personalize your iPhone running iOS 5, look no further than Color Keyboard.
