The Palace Life: A Day at Payne Skate Park

As we entered the gates of Payne skate park in Sarasota, Florida, the strong wind hit us like a wall. It was a beautiful day, but the weather conditions were not ideal for skateboarding. Undeterred, we decided to make the most of it and get some skating done.

I took a selfie with my friends, trying to capture the perfect shot amidst the chaos of the wind and the sun beating down on us. My friend Jackie joked about spitting on the lens, but I just laughed it off, saying it was like a lens flare or something. We were all excited to be at the skate park, eager to get our skate on.

As we set up our gear, my friend Nicole asked me what kind of wheels I had on her skateboard. I told her I was rocking some new wheels, and she said they looked cool. My friend Jackie teased me about not being able to land a certain trick, but I just laughed it off, saying I'd get it eventually.

We decided to film some clips, starting with a simple 270 whip. But as we tried to film more tricks, the wind made it difficult to capture smooth footage. We ended up not filming any of the harder tricks, but instead did some frame testing to see how our cameras would hold up.

As we continued skating, my friend Nicole asked me about my new shoes. I told her they were getting torn up quickly, and she laughed at that. She also teased me about not knowing the "others thing" whips strong frames can take. I just shrugged it off, saying I was still figuring things out.

After a few hours of skating, we decided to call it quits for the day. We packed up our gear and headed to get some food. As we walked away from the skate park, my friend Jackie joked about being mad at us for not coming to ride with him. But I just laughed it off, saying he was still mad because we were talking about how he went to jail.

As we sat down to eat, my friend Nicole asked me if I wanted some bacon. I said yes, and she handed me a package of crispy goodness. It was the perfect ending to a long day of skateboarding.

Finally, as we were leaving the skate park, my friend Jackie turned to me and said, "I'm not wearing this for the last clip." He meant that he wasn't going to film any more tricks with his current frame, but I just laughed it off and said we'd see what we could do on our next video.

see and sticker up in person before we went with it the dimensions aren't exactly what my signature frame is going to be but this is one of the most beautiful colors ever so I'm definitely going to go with it so the plan is to head to the warehouse pull out the vinyl cutter and figure out what I want to do for the stickers that come with my signature frame is not going to be out for still quite some time but I just want to get all the little details and everything figured out build up a bike see how it looked and everything before I make any commitments in the meantime let's see what else we got in the box - ii ii ii ii ii ii ii ii ii pop my tires a lot or something cranks for my friend new reflective seat for me new seat for nicole some pedals bottom bracket c post and some pegs that's a lot of stuff so we are off to the warehouse believe it or not i'm about to film the talking portion before my car check on the way to the warehouse but I'm hoping that video has already been out and you guys have already seen it hopefully you really like that video I really liked it like really really but anyway yeah the warehouse is about I took me like 10 to 20 minutes depending on traffic from house but it's in the same town just kind of down the road bit so we're gonna go there design some stickers with James them on the frame build up the bike and see what looks we have arrived I'm walking to the where house where house here help I come bearing yeah I did oh look at that all the styrofoam with others a nick not pretty this color so sick I so sing okay oh my gosh wow that's for a bike I think I want a stranger logo down here and I want to LZ logo right there break let's do a stranger logo first because we already have that file we're just already choosing their file yeah that's the one well we're getting that stuff ready am i throw the bottom bracket in you're supposed to put grease on this but we don't have any someone left this rubber mallet at the drift event and I totally forgot whose it was but I took it home for you I'm not stealing it but I'm gonna use it to put my bike together and next drift event come up and get it back for me because I'm gonna give you your own oh I want to do this trainer on the bottom didn't I when do those normally both of them should be mess ups because they just didn't have this bother they need to be she looks so good I kind of like how I put a crooked this coffee has been here literally since we got this place so it's really gross but I'm just gonna leave it here so after lots of laborious design messing with we went with the most simple design of all you had no idea how hard it was for us to make a decent-looking LZ for this thing just how hard was it we're hard I think the bike needs more sunglasses yeah he's more chill aren't you guys glad for that design that just now so unfortunately I can't really ride it because I'm missing a couple parts for it but I'm just making a look all pretty so we can take a picture so I guess I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna fix it and really hope that doesn't rain tomorrow so I can get some riding footage and put that in you know the video right now good work well I was terrible so even though it looks like it's gonna rain pretty badly right now I'm gonna head out to a veto so I can try this frame out and see what feels also I just thought that I should probably add since there are a lot of people talking about it on Instagram this frame is just a sample these dimensions aren't exactly what my frame is going to be I think my frame is gonna have a higher standard this one's a little bit lower it was kind of actually a mess up and I'm not too sure that I'm gonna use hydroformed tubing because although it looks really really cool it makes the frames way more expensive and heavier and I kind of want to have an affordable lightweight frame like these sunglasses these sunglasses have an extremely lightweight frame so we are in for Meijer at Euro tripper and we're just basically walking around I'm here with Nicole and I'm gonna show you guys some the cars here we got some bike stuff going on make a little montage and we're gonna go ride some oh yeah Oh so unfortunately it was a bit of a rainout the show was still really cool had really good barbecue yeah the food was really good we got barbecue burps they smell good yeah tastes good too um we met a lot
