iOS 15 Public Beta 3 Review - Additional Features, Performance, Battery Life & More

The latest Update: iOS 14.7 and Beyond

iOS 14.7 has been released, bringing with it several security patches and improvements to performance and battery life. The update is available for devices running iOS 14 and later, and can be downloaded from the App Store. One of the notable features of this update is the fix for a Wi-Fi bug that was identified as a potential denial of service or arbitrary code execution vulnerability. According to Apple, this issue has been addressed with improved checks, ensuring that users are safe from malicious Wi-Fi networks.

However, it's worth noting that not all updates bring fixes for zero-day exploits like Pegasus spyware. Apple does not have information on these types of vulnerabilities, and therefore does not include them in the update cycle. This means that users do not need to worry about their data being compromised unless they are a high-profile individual or journalist who might be targeted by such exploits.

In terms of performance and battery life, iOS 14.7 has been performing well, with many users reporting improved overall experience. The new features introduced in this update are also a welcome addition, including the Magsafe battery pack which is expected to bring improvements to this aspect as well.

Looking ahead to future updates, it's likely that we'll see more security patches and performance improvements. Next week, Apple is expected to release iOS 15 beta 4, following their traditional Wednesday update cycle. This will be available for developers and public beta testers, who can expect to download the new version of the operating system.

Additionally, there may also be an iOS 14.8 beta 1 released early next week, as Apple has a history of pushing out beta updates frequently. If a major security vulnerability is discovered and patched, an iOS 14.7.1 update might also be released to address the issue without requiring beta testing.

Finally, we can expect an official release of iOS 15 in September, with mid-September being a likely timeframe for its public release. The exact date has not been confirmed by Apple, but based on previous cycles and trends, this is a reasonable expectation.

For those interested in staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the world of iOS updates, it's worth following along with Apple's typical update cycle and staying informed about any new features or security patches that might be released.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is brandon and this past week was another interesting one as we got the release of ios 14.7 on monday followed by the release of apple's new magsafe battery pack on tuesday and then on wednesday we got the latest versions of ipad os and mac os big sur so no ios 15 beta 4 this week as expected but in this video we're still going to discuss how ios 15 beta 3 has been running in terms of performance and battery life as well as cover some additional new features and changes found in the software over the past couple of weeks and we're also going to be discussing ios 14.7 and the features and security patches it brings when to expect ios 15 beta 4 when to expect a potential ios 14.8 and much more so anyways let's go ahead and get straight into this and we're going to start off with some additional new features and changes found in ios 15 which currently were on ios 15 beta 3 and the first thing i actually just realized just a couple of days ago is inside the music application if we go into music and we go into a playlist let me just go into one of my playlists real quick and we're in this screen right here and say we're way down here and we want to remove one of these songs from the playlist before we have to tap on these three dots go to edit and then remove the song from the album but now in ios 15 we just go ahead and have to press on that and you can see we have a new option there for remove from a playlist so that is a new option here in ios 15. now i wish that if we played a song from in here we could actually just go ahead and remove it from the playlist from the now playing screen itself so like if we tap these three dots right here i wish there would be a way to remove the song from that specific playlist from the now playing screen i actually submitted this in the feedback application which by the way if you guys are not using the feedback application you guys should be this is where i actually submitted this a while back probably about you know a month ago or so i did submit that so i wish we could see that but at least we do have some form of that on this screen right here we can go ahead and remove a song from the playlist which is nice and makes it easier another change i noticed here in beta 3 is if we go into focus mode real quick we're going to go into let's just say sleep right here if we go into this and this is my contact right here i notice that sometimes it does not appear right away and sometimes you have to go out of the message and back into it if i go out of this and back into it right there you can see now it shows up so i've noticed that sometimes happening and also you will notice that the text down here has slightly changed so now it says brandon has notification silenced whereas before it said has notification silenced with focus so you can see that's what it looked like before in beta 2 but now here in beta 3 it just says notification silence and it doesn't say with focus so i'm not sure if that's going to just kind of go back and forth like apple likes to do but i did notice that as a small change here in beta 3. also inside of the files application or just any time you're viewing a pdf file so let's go ahead and unlock this pdf file which is also a new feature in ios 15 the ability to lock pdfs but i noticed if you're on a pdf sheet right here you can actually go ahead and swipe over and you will see a little preview screen over here on the left hand side and if there are multiple pages you can just go up and down on the different pages right there with a simple swipe gesture which is cool and i believe that is brand new here in ios 15. it's been there since beta 1 but i did not cover it here on the channel and i just really found out about it like last week another change i kind of just glazed over in my initial what's new video is actually inside of settings if we go to our settings and go to general and down to vpn and device management you can see that this is now where the profiles are located so instead of being like in a separate section like it was in ios 14 it's now under settings general and vpn and device management and then it actually says configuration profile right there and then you see your beta profile also in ios 15 beta 3 this is not a new feature or change but i did just notice that airdrop is working so much better now in beta 3 than it was in beta's 102 had so many issues with airdrop especially to an m1 mac but now all of those problems seem to be resolved as i have not had an issue over the past week and a half now i also wanted to mention a couple of things about apple's new magsafe battery pack which i have right here so if we go ahead and attach this to the back of an ios 15 beta 3 device you will notice that number one there is no animation whereas on ios 14.7 there is an animation so let me show you guys what the animation looks like and this is what we can expect to see on beta 4. so you can see that right there that is the animation we can expect to see in beta 4 and then also you can see on ios 14.7 and at the battery widget right there you can see the actual glyph for this charger whereas in beta 3 of ios 15 you can see it shows this right here just like a generic cable and sometimes it just disappears as you can see it kind of just went away so let me see if it comes back so it may not come back but it just shows as a lightning cable there we go it just shows us that lightning cable instead of the actual magsafe glyph so i would expect both of those things to change in beta 4 and then also i would expect the overall functionality of this magsafe charger to just be better with beta4 because if you guys follow me on twitter you would know that there's been quite a bit of controversy actually about this and i posted a lot of things about it over on twitter so if you're not following me over there make sure to follow me that link is down in the description below but as far as any other additional new features and changes here in beta 3 i really have not found any there's really not a ton that i didn't already cover my initial what's new video i really covered a lot in that video a lot of really small details that nobody else covered and then also i had my follow-up last week where i talked about a few other additional features i've been loving the widget right here the music widget that changes when you play a song and pause it i've been loving that looks so much better than just having the red i do not like how when you close out of the application how it just goes back to that though if i close out of that you can see that it changed back to the red widget that we've had since ios 14. so i like the changes but i wish it would just kind of stay that way instead of reverting back to this red widget so ios 15 beta 3 really fixed a ton of bugs that i had in beta's one and two really fixed you know probably the majority i would say of bugs i've been facing however there are some new bugs that were just introduced with beta 3 and a couple of those i need to show you on my main device my iphone 12 pro over here on the left i've been running ios 15 beta 3 since the day it came out and i have had some issues so the first thing is actually a pretty big one so if i play music you can see right here i'm just gonna go ahead and play music and you'll see that the music is playing right now okay and when i go to my platter right here it shows nothing is playing when i lock my screen and go back even when i'm not in this mode right here so let me go and turn this off so you guys can see has nothing to do with me being in do not disturb you can see there nothing shows up on my lock screen nothing shows up in my now playing platter right here in the control center every time i'm playing music it just doesn't show up on the lock screen in my control center or even via bluetooth when i'm connected to like my tesla and it doesn't even show anything on the screen even though music is playing so it's really weird it does fix itself after a reboot but then it just comes back so i've had issues with that that's probably been my main annoying issue so far in beta 3 it's not really a huge deal it doesn't really you know break anything or make something unusable but it is quite annoying now one thing that does break something usable is actually spotlight search so when i go to a search thing sometimes in spotlight not only does it sometimes just completely not work and doesn't show anything right there but sometimes there are just some blank squares as well so i took a screenshot of this you could see that i didn't even type anything but it just shows some series suggestions right here and there are two blank icons there's no text and there's no icon in the middle there's nothing and this has happened several times here on beta 3. and then also sometimes when i go to search for something inside of the spotlight search right here it just won't show up or it'll show up really out of line or i'll just have to type in like the entire application name like for example amazon i rebooted it so it's not doing it anymore but sometimes when i would type in amazon it would only show alexa not the main amazon application unless i typed it completely out and then it would show it there and it would still be after amazon alexa for whatever reason so the spotlight search is definitely wonky here and i've had quite a few issues with it also inside of messages you can see that sometimes the reactions to messages are in dark mode even when you're in light mode and that's happened when i'm in dark mode as well the reactions will show up in a light mode in the background right there so it goes away when you go out of the conversation and back in but that is still a bug i've been facing here in beta 3. and then i've also noticed a couple of small bugs related to widgets and the first one is actually about the music widget right here so if you go to the medium-sized music widget you can see that it actually shows less information and less text than the small one so the small one shows the entire song as you can see right there but the medium sized one doesn't so the text is bigger but it shows less data and less information which makes no sense at all especially with all that real estate up top so it seems to be a bug with the medium sized music widget right there so it looks good just a lot of wasted space and it really doesn't even tell you much about the song or like if somebody's featured in it right there so that's one thing i would like to see fixed also sometimes you cannot stack the same size widget so if i go into widgets here and i just go to let's just say app store for example and go ahead and add it right here sometimes as you can see right here you cannot stack the same size widget it doesn't make any sense like even if i go down here i just simply cannot stack the same size widget it doesn't let me so that's another bug i'm facing here inside of a beta 3. so let's see if i can go ahead and put it over here no so that's another bug with widgets here in beta 3. so we do have quite a few bugs here in ios 15 beta 3 but overall there are a lot less bugs than we had in beta 2 which i see as a big win and as far as performance overall here in beta 3 it's the same deal it is substantially better than beta 2. i had so many issues with beta 2. the bugs were just so much worse on beta 2 than they are on beta 3. so we still have bugs like i said but it's nothing like that breaks your phone like on beta 2 i would have random resprings all the time i would you know have issues with phone calls you know i would have random resprings apps crashing things like that i've only had one random respring so far here on beta 3 over the past week and a half so things are looking really good in terms of performance here and i would expect you know beta 2 to probably be the worst that we're going to see i think that beta 4 is going to be better than beta 3 and i think it's just going to be you know on an upward trajectory from here on out which is a great sign and i did just want to go ahead and run a quick geekbench test just to show you guys the results so you can see here that even the geekbench scores are very strong in beta 3. so a 1600 on the single core and a 4158 on the multi-core so some very respectable scores there on beta 3 and overall i think that this is really the first beta that i can just go ahead and recommend for a daily driver a daily device i would not recommend beta one or two i never said in any video but beta 3 especially now after using it for a week and a half and really having no major issues i can say officially that i think it's fine to use on your daily everyday device it's been reliable for me and it's been reliable for most people that i've seen commenting on my videos and in my polls so let's go and talk about battery life and then move on to that community poll so battery life has also been one thing that has improved in beta 3 but it's still not going to be as good as like an ios 14.7 or anything else on ios 14. so battery life is definitely better than beta 2. i have noticed a great difference in battery life going from beta 2 to beta 3 but it's still of course not going to be quite as good as ios 14. so i'm going to go ahead and pull up my battery chart here on my main device you can see here that over the last 24 hours i've used my phone quite a bit a lot of screen off time but you can see kind of the charts right there and then also the last 10 days you can see i have been using my phone quite a bit during the week not as much on the weekend but i've had a lot of experience here with the battery life in ios 15 beta 3 and i can definitely tell you it is better than beta 2. beta 2 is brutal my battery would die very quickly so it's definitely getting better but again i would not go into it expecting ios 14 type battery life alright so now let's go ahead and move on to the community poll that i posted here on youtube so you guys can see 14 hours ago i asked how has ios 15 beta 3 been running for you over the past week and leave a comment with the device you're using so you can see that 16 of people said that ios 15 beta 3 is excellent with no major bugs and good battery life 26 said good at just a few minor bugs which is actually what i would go ahead and vote if i was voting on this and eight percent said not so good buggy and bad battery life and 49 are on 14.7 or lower so let's go ahead and read through a couple of these comments here someone says strange bugs and messages app when going from landscape to portrait so i tried that after reading this and i had no bugs so if you i guess 12 people could expand on that let me know in a comment down below but i've had no bugs and messages going from landscape to portrait maybe it's just not on my device so somebody said that battery life is pathetic here on beta 3 battery life was okay at first but it got worse after two days i still get a delay when screen shotting so i don't get any delay when screenshotting personally it takes a couple of seconds to take it safari randomly crashes it takes forever to calculate storage so it sounds like to me that he is probably on an older device like a 6s or se maybe a 7 because those all seem like just older device problems so i've not had any of those happen especially safari safari crashed a lot on beta 2 but it hasn't happened once to me on beta 3. battery on 12 pro max is a lot better just a bug where my phone says i haven't missed i have a missed call but i already cleared it so yes that actually happened to me as well i don't know if you saw my main device earlier it does show that and it's the same for a voicemail when you clear the voicemail it still shows you have a notification there i forgot to mention that earlier in the video here's a pretty interesting one so vasco says i can't use apps that require access to my location they crash at the exact moment i open them there are also some widgets that i can't place on my home screen on an iphone 11 so i've not heard of that related to the location so somebody else said same i have not had that so if you guys have let me know in a comment down below i would be interested in hearing a little bit more on that so that's pretty interesting uh no major bugs since the beta came out you're one in a million if you've had no bugs since this beta came out that's pretty crazy anyway search does not work for 99 of the time this is also for the app view so that's probably the spotlight search issues that i talked about earlier keyboard lags sometimes or takes a while to show only happened with beta 3. so i had no keyboard lag i did have that in beta 2 though so not too sure what's going on there we got christina here actually having a better experience on beta 2 than on beta 3 which is pretty crazy so the notification sounds bug i do have as well for example snapchat as default sound i am still having that here in beta 3 but it seems like it's a lot less frequently than it was in beta 2. so i've not had any app crashes she said with twitter so i've not had any of those sometimes it's not responding so i have to force close an application so pretty interesting there i think that most people are having a better experience on bad three but it seems like some people just had a better experience overall on beta 2. not as buggy but still bad battery life for the iphone se2 honestly i don't know about the battery life because it was bad before i leave it charging for most of the day a few minor issues on ipad os 15 though so i have noticed that ipad os 15 seems a little bit more stable overall than ios for whatever reason it could just be because there are less variables on an ipad than an iphone so it seems like some people are having issues here with crashing so again more people talking about crashing my spotlight stops working on public beta 3 and i haven't figured out a way to solve it way to solve that is through a reboot because i've had issues with spotlight as well it's okay besides twitter crashing and text glitching when i type and scroll so it seems like some people are having issues with twitter crashing i have not experienced that but it seems like multiple people are having issues with twitter here on beta3 bug in the wallpaper section where widgets on the home screen may not show the preview of the wallpaper so interesting i've not noticed that i usually set my wallpapers from the photos application so i would not know about that people still saying they hate the safari view and i'm kind of you know in the middle i like it sometimes sometimes i hate it so it's just a learning curve to it so anyways thanks to everybody who voted in this and left a comment i do appreciate it i do cover these every single week and i do read every single one of the comments and at these community polls so thank you again if you voted and especially if you commented now before we move on to what's next for apple in terms of software i did just want to quickly go ahead and talk about ios 14.7 which is the latest public release from apple for the iphones of course ios 15 beta 3 is the latest beta but the latest public release is ios 14.7 it seems like a lot of people just got on the beta without really knowing that it was a beta a lot of people think they're actually on ios 15 when they're on a beta so i know a lot of you guys that watch my videos aren't like that but it seems like a lot of people especially on tik tok which by the way if you're not following me on tik tok go ahead and follow me over there a lot of people seem to think that ios 15 is like an official version but it's not ios 14.7 is the latest and it just came out this past week but anyways we have some new features in this like the ability to add the homepod timers like we go right here we go down you can see we have the timers right here that we can set on the home button we can manage them right there also podcast is a lot better now in ios 14.7 especially in the shows section where we can go ahead and you know filter it by followed and all so if you download a podcast that will show up in all and if you don't follow them you know it won't show up right here which i actually like and i use podcasts every single day so that makes a big difference for me and then battery life is one of the biggest things i noticed with 14.7 so 14.7 battery life is actually way better than 14.6 especially for those that had battery drain so i had no battery drain on this device but on the older devices like the 7 plus there was battery drain and 14.7 resolves that for most people so battery life should be better on 14.7 i've seen a lot of people mention that over the past few days also the apple music bug has been resolved for most people but there are still some people saying that they have that issue even after updating to ios 14.7 so you guys let me know in a comment down below has this been fixed for you in 14.7 the apple music 15 second bug related to lossless audio and spatial audio let me know because it's never been a problem for me so it's hard for me to tell if it's been fixed if i never had it to begin with so we did also get a lot of security patches with ios 14.7 so i didn't cover these in my initial what's new video just because at that time they were not released but there are some security patches here in ios 14.7 so let me go ahead and pull these up so you can see the apple mentions a lot of security patches here and ios 14.7 and at the very bottom they actually mention the wi-fi bug which we did know was fixed but apple mentions it in text here at the very bottom so it says that the impact is joining a malicious wi-fi network may result in a denial of service or arbitrary code execution and the description the way it fixed is it says this issue was addressed with improved checks so that has been fixed now so you don't have to worry about your wi-fi being you know completely bricked and not being able to use wi-fi on your device so that's been fixed and also again a lot of these webkit bugs in here you can see we have some model i o bugs that have been fixed and been patched kernel patches things like that so one thing that has not been fixed that a lot of people have been asking about is the pegasus spyware so that is you know those are zero day exploits that are being used there so apple doesn't know about these so those have not been fixed but of course when apple does have a fix for those pegasus you know bugs of course they will push out an update it's probably going to be a pretty immediate update because those are pretty nasty vulnerabilities but ios 14.7 does not fix any of the spyware stuff but unless you're like a major celebrity you really have nothing to worry about or like unless you're a big journalist for the news or something like that or something that you know these people would actually want your information for you have absolutely nothing to worry about i think a lot of people just really get caught up in it and think that their data is just going to be you know breached and they're just going to lose all their data you know it's going to be out there on the dark web that's really not what's going to happen unless you are a notable figure but yeah overall ios 14.7 has been performing really good in terms of performance battery life loving the new features ios 14.7 is just a great update overall that i think everybody should already be on by now all right so now what's next for apple so if we go ahead and pull up the calendar right here you guys can see that next week is going to be the week of the 26th and i would expect apple to release ios 15 beta 4 next week so apple has been on this wednesday cycle so we could see it on the 28th but it's really hard to say apple is of course so unpredictable but i would expect to see ios 15 beta 4 at some point next week both for developers and for public beta testers i would expect to see beta 4 next week now as far as ios 14.8 so we could see a ios 14.8 beta 1 as early as next week as well so we could even see that on monday or tuesday i would not be surprised because apple did just come out of beta for 14.7 that just released it to the public so we no longer have an ios 14 beta which apple it seems like they always like to have something in beta so i would not be surprised at all to see a 14.8 beta 1 start early next week now apple could also release an ios 14.7.1 if a major security vulnerability has been discovered and patched and a 0.7.1 type update would not require beta testing it would just be pushed out you know kind of any time you know whenever apple decides that they fix something that's when they're going to push it out so i would not be surprised to see that at some point in the coming weeks and then of course depending on when we get 14.8 beta 1 i would expect that to last about a month until it gets released to the public and then of course we will see ios 15 the public release here in september most likely in mid september but anyways guys there you have it that is ios 15 beta 3 some additional new features and changes an update on the performance and battery life we talked a little bit about ios 14.7 as well and the magsafe battery pack i would expect some improvements to that as well if you guys want to see more content on that let me know in a comment below as well but anyways guys yeah hope you enjoyed this video if you did i would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up and of course make sure you subscribe because i do these type of videos every single weekend where i recap everything that happened in the week in terms of software sometimes i talk about the latest apple leaks as well but this week was kind of quiet really nothing important to talk about so i didn't want to waste your time with that but anyways guys thanks again for watching and i'll see you soon youwhat's up guys my name is brandon and this past week was another interesting one as we got the release of ios 14.7 on monday followed by the release of apple's new magsafe battery pack on tuesday and then on wednesday we got the latest versions of ipad os and mac os big sur so no ios 15 beta 4 this week as expected but in this video we're still going to discuss how ios 15 beta 3 has been running in terms of performance and battery life as well as cover some additional new features and changes found in the software over the past couple of weeks and we're also going to be discussing ios 14.7 and the features and security patches it brings when to expect ios 15 beta 4 when to expect a potential ios 14.8 and much more so anyways let's go ahead and get straight into this and we're going to start off in that video a lot of really small details that nobody else covered and then also i had my follow-up last week where i talked about a few other additional features i've been loving the widget right here the music widget that changes when you play a song and pause it i've been loving that looks so much better than just having the red i do not like how when you close out of the application how it just goes back to that though if i close out of that you can see that it changed back to the red widget that we've had since ios 14. so i like the changes but i wish it would just kind of stay that way instead of reverting back to this red widget so ios 15 beta 3 really fixed a ton of bugs that i had in beta's one and two really fixed you know probably the majority i would say of bugs i've been facing however there are some new bugs that were just introduced with beta 3 and a couple of those i need to show you on my main device my iphone 12 pro over here on the left i've been running ios 15 beta 3 since the day it came out and i have had some issues so the first thing is actually a pretty big one so if i play music you can see right here i'm just gonna go ahead and play music and you'll see that the music is playing right now okay and when i go to my platter right here it shows nothing is playing when i lock my screen and go back even when i'm not in this mode right here so let me go and turn this off so you guys can see has nothing to do with me being in do not disturb you can see there nothing shows up on my lock screen nothing shows up in my now playing platter right here in the control center every time i'm playing music it just doesn't show up on the lock screen in my control center or even via bluetooth when i'm connected to like my tesla and it doesn't even show anything on the screen even though music is playing so it's really weird it does fix itself after a reboot but then it just comes back so i've had issues with that that's probably been my main annoying issue so far in beta 3 it's not really a huge deal it doesn't really you know break anything or make something unusable but it is quite annoying now one thing that does break something usable is actually spotlight search so when i go to a search thing sometimes in spotlight not only does it sometimes just completely not work and doesn't show anything right there but sometimes there are just some blank squares as well so i took a screenshot of this you could see that i didn't even type anything but it just shows some series suggestions right here and there are two blank icons there's no text and there's no icon in the middle there's nothing and this has happened several times here on beta 3. and then also sometimes when i go to search for something inside of the spotlight search right here it just won't show up or it'll show up really out of line or i'll just have to type in like the entire application name like for example amazon i rebooted it so it's not doing it anymore but sometimes when i would type in amazon it would only show alexa not the main amazon application unless i typed it completely out and then it would show it there and it would still be after amazon alexa for whatever reason so the spotlight search is definitely wonky here and i've had quite a few issues with it also inside of messages you can see that sometimes the reactions to messages are in dark mode even when you're in light mode and that's happened when i'm in dark mode as well the reactions will show up in a light mode in the background right there so it goes away when you go out of the conversation and back in but that is still a bug i've been facing here in beta 3. and then i've also noticed a couple of small bugs related to widgets and the first one is actually about the music widget right here so if you go to the medium-sized music widget you can see that it actually shows less information and less text than the small one so the small one shows the entire song as you can see right there but the medium sized one doesn't so the text is bigger but it shows less data and less information which makes no sense at all especially with all that real estate up top so it seems to be a bug with the medium sized music widget right there so it looks good just a lot of wasted space and it really doesn't even tell you much about the song or like if somebody's featured in it right there so that's one thing i would like to see fixed also sometimes you cannot stack the same size widget so if i go into widgets here and i just go to let's just say app store for example and go ahead and add it right here sometimes as you can see right here you cannot stack the same size widget it doesn't make any sense like even if i go down here i just simply cannot stack the same size widget it doesn't let me so that's another bug i'm facing here inside of a beta 3. so let's see if i can go ahead and put it over here no so that's another bug with widgets here in beta 3. so we do have quite a few bugs here in ios 15 beta 3 but overall there are a lot less bugs than we had in beta 2 which i see as a big win and as far as performance overall here in beta 3 it's the same deal it is substantially better than beta 2. i had so many issues with beta 2. the bugs were just so much worse on beta 2 than they are on beta 3. so we still have bugs like i said but it's nothing like that breaks your phone like on beta 2 i would have random resprings all the time i would you know have issues with phone calls you know i would have random resprings apps crashing things like that i've only had one random respring so far here on beta 3 over the past week and a half so things are looking really good in terms of performance here and i would expect you know beta 2 to probably be the worst that we're going to see i think that beta 4 is going to be better than beta 3 and i think it's just going to be you know on an upward trajectory from here on out which is a great sign and i did just want to go ahead and run a quick geekbench test just to show you guys the results so you can see here that even the geekbench scores are very strong in beta 3. so a 1600 on the single core and a 4158 on the multi-core so some very respectable scores there on beta 3 and overall i think that this is really the first beta that i can just go ahead and recommend for a daily driver a daily device i would not recommend beta one or two i never said in any video but beta 3 especially now after using it for a week and a half and really having no major issues i can say officially that i think it's fine to use on your daily everyday device it's been reliable for me and it's been reliable for most people that i've seen commenting on my videos and in my polls so let's go and talk about battery life and then move on to that community poll so battery life has also been one thing that has improved in beta 3 but it's still not going to be as good as like an ios 14.7 or anything else on ios 14. so battery life is definitely better than beta 2. i have noticed a great difference in battery life going from beta 2 to beta 3 but it's still of course not going to be quite as good as ios 14. so i'm going to go ahead and pull up my battery chart here on my main device you can see here that over the last 24 hours i've used my phone quite a bit a lot of screen off time but you can see kind of the charts right there and then also the last 10 days you can see i have been using my phone quite a bit during the week not as much on the weekend but i've had a lot of experience here with the battery life in ios 15 beta 3 and i can definitely tell you it is better than beta 2. beta 2 is brutal my battery would die very quickly so it's definitely getting better but again i would not go into it expecting ios 14 type battery life alright so now let's go ahead and move on to the community poll that i posted here on youtube so you guys can see 14 hours ago i asked how has ios 15 beta 3 been running for you over the past week and leave a comment with the device you're using so you can see that 16 of people said that ios 15 beta 3 is excellent with no major bugs and good battery life 26 said good at just a few minor bugs which is actually what i would go ahead and vote if i was voting on this and eight percent said not so good buggy and bad battery life and 49 are on 14.7 or lower so let's go ahead and read through a couple of these comments here someone says strange bugs and messages app when going from landscape to portrait so i tried that after reading this and i had no bugs so if you i guess 12 people could expand on that let me know in a comment down below but i've had no bugs and messages going from landscape to portrait maybe it's just not on my device so somebody said that battery life is pathetic here on beta 3 battery life was okay at first but it got worse after two days i still get a delay when screen shotting so i don't get any delay when screenshotting personally it takes a couple of seconds to take it safari randomly crashes it takes forever to calculate storage so it sounds like to me that he is probably on an older device like a 6s or se maybe a 7 because those all seem like just older device problems so i've not had any of those happen especially safari safari crashed a lot on beta 2 but it hasn't happened once to me on beta 3. battery on 12 pro max is a lot better just a bug where my phone says i haven't missed i have a missed call but i already cleared it so yes that actually happened to me as well i don't know if you saw my main device earlier it does show that and it's the same for a voicemail when you clear the voicemail it still shows you have a notification there i forgot to mention that earlier in the video here's a pretty interesting one so vasco says i can't use apps that require access to my location they crash at the exact moment i open them there are also some widgets that i can't place on my home screen on an iphone 11 so i've not heard of that related to the location so somebody else said same i have not had that so if you guys have let me know in a comment down below i would be interested in hearing a little bit more on that so that's pretty interesting uh no major bugs since the beta came out you're one in a million if you've had no bugs since this beta came out that's pretty crazy anyway search does not work for 99 of the time this is also for the app view so that's probably the spotlight search issues that i talked about earlier keyboard lags sometimes or takes a while to show only happened with beta 3. so i had no keyboard lag i did have that in beta 2 though so not too sure what's going on there we got christina here actually having a better experience on beta 2 than on beta 3 which is pretty crazy so the notification sounds bug i do have as well for example snapchat as default sound i am still having that here in beta 3 but it seems like it's a lot less frequently than it was in beta 2. so i've not had any app crashes she said with twitter so i've not had any of those sometimes it's not responding so i have to force close an application so pretty interesting there i think that most people are having a better experience on bad three but it seems like some people just had a better experience overall on beta 2. not as buggy but still bad battery life for the iphone se2 honestly i don't know about the battery life because it was bad before i leave it charging for most of the day a few minor issues on ipad os 15 though so i have noticed that ipad os 15 seems a little bit more stable overall than ios for whatever reason it could just be because there are less variables on an ipad than an iphone so it seems like some people are having issues here with crashing so again more people talking about crashing my spotlight stops working on public beta 3 and i haven't figured out a way to solve it way to solve that is through a reboot because i've had issues with spotlight as well it's okay besides twitter crashing and text glitching when i type and scroll so it seems like some people are having issues with twitter crashing i have not experienced that but it seems like multiple people are having issues with twitter here on beta3 bug in the wallpaper section where widgets on the home screen may not show the preview of the wallpaper so interesting i've not noticed that i usually set my wallpapers from the photos application so i would not know about that people still saying they hate the safari view and i'm kind of you know in the middle i like it sometimes sometimes i hate it so it's just a learning curve to it so anyways thanks to everybody who voted in this and left a comment i do appreciate it i do cover these every single week and i do read every single one of the comments and at these community polls so thank you again if you voted and especially if you commented now before we move on to what's next for apple in terms of software i did just want to quickly go ahead and talk about ios 14.7 which is the latest public release from apple for the iphones of course ios 15 beta 3 is the latest beta but the latest public release is ios 14.7 it seems like a lot of people just got on the beta without really knowing that it was a beta a lot of people think they're actually on ios 15 when they're on a beta so i know a lot of you guys that watch my videos aren't like that but it seems like a lot of people especially on tik tok which by the way if you're not following me on tik tok go ahead and follow me over there a lot of people seem to think that ios 15 is like an official version but it's not ios 14.7 is the latest and it just came out this past week but anyways we have some new features in this like the ability to add the homepod timers like we go right here we go down you can see we have the timers right here that we can set on the home button we can manage them right there also podcast is a lot better now in ios 14.7 especially in the shows section where we can go ahead and you know filter it by followed and all so if you download a podcast that will show up in all and if you don't follow them you know it won't show up right here which i actually like and i use podcasts every single day so that makes a big difference for me and then battery life is one of the biggest things i noticed with 14.7 so 14.7 battery life is actually way better than 14.6 especially for those that had battery drain so i had no battery drain on this device but on the older devices like the 7 plus there was battery drain and 14.7 resolves that for most people so battery life should be better on 14.7 i've seen a lot of people mention that over the past few days also the apple music bug has been resolved for most people but there are still some people saying that they have that issue even after updating to ios 14.7 so you guys let me know in a comment down below has this been fixed for you in 14.7 the apple music 15 second bug related to lossless audio and spatial audio let me know because it's never been a problem for me so it's hard for me to tell if it's been fixed if i never had it to begin with so we did also get a lot of security patches with ios 14.7 so i didn't cover these in my initial what's new video just because at that time they were not released but there are some security patches here in ios 14.7 so let me go ahead and pull these up so you can see the apple mentions a lot of security patches here and ios 14.7 and at the very bottom they actually mention the wi-fi bug which we did know was fixed but apple mentions it in text here at the very bottom so it says that the impact is joining a malicious wi-fi network may result in a denial of service or arbitrary code execution and the description the way it fixed is it says this issue was addressed with improved checks so that has been fixed now so you don't have to worry about your wi-fi being you know completely bricked and not being able to use wi-fi on your device so that's been fixed and also again a lot of these webkit bugs in here you can see we have some model i o bugs that have been fixed and been patched kernel patches things like that so one thing that has not been fixed that a lot of people have been asking about is the pegasus spyware so that is you know those are zero day exploits that are being used there so apple doesn't know about these so those have not been fixed but of course when apple does have a fix for those pegasus you know bugs of course they will push out an update it's probably going to be a pretty immediate update because those are pretty nasty vulnerabilities but ios 14.7 does not fix any of the spyware stuff but unless you're like a major celebrity you really have nothing to worry about or like unless you're a big journalist for the news or something like that or something that you know these people would actually want your information for you have absolutely nothing to worry about i think a lot of people just really get caught up in it and think that their data is just going to be you know breached and they're just going to lose all their data you know it's going to be out there on the dark web that's really not what's going to happen unless you are a notable figure but yeah overall ios 14.7 has been performing really good in terms of performance battery life loving the new features ios 14.7 is just a great update overall that i think everybody should already be on by now all right so now what's next for apple so if we go ahead and pull up the calendar right here you guys can see that next week is going to be the week of the 26th and i would expect apple to release ios 15 beta 4 next week so apple has been on this wednesday cycle so we could see it on the 28th but it's really hard to say apple is of course so unpredictable but i would expect to see ios 15 beta 4 at some point next week both for developers and for public beta testers i would expect to see beta 4 next week now as far as ios 14.8 so we could see a ios 14.8 beta 1 as early as next week as well so we could even see that on monday or tuesday i would not be surprised because apple did just come out of beta for 14.7 that just released it to the public so we no longer have an ios 14 beta which apple it seems like they always like to have something in beta so i would not be surprised at all to see a 14.8 beta 1 start early next week now apple could also release an ios 14.7.1 if a major security vulnerability has been discovered and patched and a 0.7.1 type update would not require beta testing it would just be pushed out you know kind of any time you know whenever apple decides that they fix something that's when they're going to push it out so i would not be surprised to see that at some point in the coming weeks and then of course depending on when we get 14.8 beta 1 i would expect that to last about a month until it gets released to the public and then of course we will see ios 15 the public release here in september most likely in mid september but anyways guys there you have it that is ios 15 beta 3 some additional new features and changes an update on the performance and battery life we talked a little bit about ios 14.7 as well and the magsafe battery pack i would expect some improvements to that as well if you guys want to see more content on that let me know in a comment below as well but anyways guys yeah hope you enjoyed this video if you did i would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up and of course make sure you subscribe because i do these type of videos every single weekend where i recap everything that happened in the week in terms of software sometimes i talk about the latest apple leaks as well but this week was kind of quiet really nothing important to talk about so i didn't want to waste your time with that but anyways guys thanks again for watching and i'll see you soon you\n"
