aliexpress in most cases this is the pow kitty q90 retro handheld game player has a 3.0 ips screen 16 gig of ram basically built in it sports that it's an open source system so let's just open this guy up take a look at it see if it's worth the fifty dollars and give you my final thoughts hmm the seal this is a quick way to open because i cannot find my to it i gotta say actually the boxing is actually decent it's a hard cardboard slide-on box top and you don't see that in a lot of cheaper handhelds so i mean it's really strong like i'm i'm really impressed with that you get a nice little card that i can't read oh english side when shutting down be sure to select the power option in the settings to shut down and turn off the power button otherwise it can cause basically what they're trying to say it could screw up your files that are inside the system they recommend that you shut it down properly which makes sense just like any hard drive or ssd you would want to do that so right off the bat i'm just going to take this feels pretty decent i'm going to lay that right there it's my first time seeing anything like this all right so you have usb c wow that's something nicer you don't see that on some retro consoles at all usbc charging cable you have the uh qci pass so it looks like these things have been stamped and passed this was passed in 2020 0101 so a little older but not so bad i mean it's not like it was made in 2018 or anything um not sure what to make of this game machine product warranty card it's a very very strange warranty card and your manual the toilet paper so uh toilet paper is never really any good and in this case it's not let's just get right to it i mean this got some nice weight to it i'm really impressed with that now i believe that i bought the see-through version there we go i did i bought the see-through version and that is because it just looked cool there was this in a blue with white buttons and i don't know i've never had a see-through unit before like this and i figured hey why not so that was really eye-catching it gives you an idea of like a few things so you know that the battery's replaceable right away which is really nice it's a bp 4l i don't even have to open to know that 3.7 volt lithium battery and it's beautiful that is just easily replaced and here of course we can see that there's actually two speakers because it's see-through we can see that there's wiring and speakers there so we're not being fooled by the typical two speaker hole but one speaker so it actually has two so that's pretty cool i'm really cool about that that's that's pretty awesome so you have a headphone out a tf card slot right here i think that is your built in your os and so on uh you have a uh analog stick here your d-pad everything feels good start and select it feels pretty good so i mean i won't know that until i started up you have your left right shoulder button your usbc charging volume control and your power on and off so let's power it up and see what we get so to do so i will turn off my lighting just so we get a better view of the screen you want that extra glare going on power up nx hope we hope that it works so you can see there's some sort of form of linux that just booted up which is really sweet so i'm not going to go into details and specs on this because it is what it is and we can't change that what i want to see is games so here we have game boy game boy color game boy advance famicon which is your super nintendo uh genesis sega master system game gear we have i guess another version of super nintendo playstation neo geo pocket i believe that's wonder swan and playstation well it just keeps on going here so we have maim we have neo geo i'm not sure what that is arcade so okay let's try out something pretty common first well i would like to see game boy events the reason why i don't want to go to the simpler stuff we know it's going to run that let's see what happens when we try to run something else here so is there anything there here i can hmm okay maybe i gotta go too guess these are pre-installed games let's just go here again ah that's what we need to do so there are some games installed so i was hitting the wrong button you gotta hit a whoa let's turn that down a bit the screen wow oh that is a very impressive let's see if it plays don't really
