ZAGGkeys Cover for iPad Air review

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys Ally with imore and today we're going to take a look at the zag Keys cover for iPad Air all right guys so I've got my iPad Air loaded up into the zag Keys cover uh we've already taken a look at the folio this cover here is not even out yet but it is available for pre-order it's priced at $99 and comes in black and white uh the first thing you're going to know notice about this cover it is very Sleek so coming around the edge um you have some optional Little Foot grips here these come in the packaging you can put them on if you want you don't have to I did because I don't really want this top cover to get scratched up so and I feel like it gives it a little extra grip too if I'm sitting it on the table then it's not going to slide around so um going around the sides obviously since this is a cover you have access to all of your ports and all of the things so coming around here if you've got an LTE iPad you can get to your SIM tray you can get to your volume controls uh up here all of your ports are open coming around the side uh this is kind of what's so ingenious about this case and so different compared to the other ones uh you can see this hinge that runs along the side here the inside of this hinge is a soft rubber so it doesn't scratch your iPad so basically what you do is you slide your iPad in here um I recommend pushing evenly on both sides just because uh sometimes you you put this side in this side pops up for the most part um it's very easy to get in you can also switch your iPad around and flip it so then the inside keyboard is protected but you can use what zag is calling a reading mode so you don't have to completely detach it you can flip it around however you want to do that I'd probably still just pop my iPad out and use it without the case um it's an iPad Air it weighs one pound I don't want an extra bulk if I'm just sitting there reading so either way um the ingenious part about this case is when you open in this since it uses a hinge instead of like a smart cover Snap-on magnet you get multiple viewing angles so you can actually adjust this how you want so you can see here your iPad sits in this little hinge you can pull it out or um you can adjust the angle as you'd like it so coming around the front here when you set it down it looks like a tiny little Netbook um overall we've already taken a look at the zag keys fol this has the same amazing keyboard um so we'll go over some of the keyboard stuff here real quick uh zag gives you a dedicated row up here at the top for lock Siri cut copy paste volume controls uh play pause skip tracks uh down here you've got your International keyboards and you have also got something that's pretty unique to zag uh is backlit keyboard so you tap this once twice and three times for3 different brightness levels um here's something that's really cool I didn't even realize this on the folio when I did the review a reader pointed it out to me how cool is this you hold the keyboard light down and you can siphon through a bunch of different colors so you got purple blue light blue green yellow red um white I guess so yeah this is a very cool keyboard it's one of the only options with a backlight option uh this keyboard is rated at I think about 3 months if you're using it about 2 to 3 hours a day for one charge obviously if you're using a backlight um that's going to be a little less one thing that zag does have too that a lot of other keyboard cases don't is a battery indicator light this is found on the folio version as well you tap this and if it blinks green three or four times you've got I believe over 50% battery if it blinks three times yellow you've got 25 to 49 if it blinks red you've got less than 25% battery I think that's the skin so overall a very nice keyboard layout this is one of my favorite layouts on a keyboard cover so what I'm going to do is I'm going to set this down and we're going to pop into itex speed as I've done with every other keyboard case and we're going to see how fast I can type on this folio case all right so I kind of messed up there had my finger set kind of funny but um even with a couple mess ups I still got 19 words correct two Incorrect and I typed at about 73 words per minute um I'm a pretty quick typer again but this this keyboard is very easy to type on no issues no complaints with keyboard layout uh zag did a really nice job with it um overall this is probably one of the thinnest offerings you're going to find next to the Logitech ultra thin keyboard cover um that stamps on like a snart cover though so if you're looking something for something with uh multi-angle viewing this might be a better option again it's not available yet but you can pre-order it on Amazon for $99 we've got a link below um if you're eyeing this let us know what you like don't like about it if you're looking at something else or already picked something else up uh let us know that too in the comments and we'll have more for you coming soon thanks guyshey guys Ally with imore and today we're going to take a look at the zag Keys cover for iPad Air all right guys so I've got my
