The Powerhouse Gaming Laptops: ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18

What's up, guys? I'm Saf here on SuperSaf TV, and we have an exciting video today to showcase some of the world's most powerful gaming laptops available. We're going to take a closer look at the ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18, which are powered by up to the 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX processors and up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPUs.

These laptops are absolute beasts when it comes to performance. The ROG Strix SCAR 16 is around 2.5 kg, while the SCAR 18 weighs in at 3.1 kg. These compact powerhouses offer a wide range of features and technologies that make them stand out from the competition. One of the notable features is the customizable Armor Caps, which are easy to purchase online and can even be 3D printed if you want something completely custom.

The laptops also feature an all-new full-width light bar along with the vents on the back, accompanied by a new metallic ROG logo that has RGB lighting around the edges. The keyboard offers per-key RGB with Aura Sync customization, plenty of travel, and customizable hotkeys that control volume, microphone, or toggle performance mode for on-the-fly gaming. Additionally, the laptops boast large touch pads, which are around 10% larger than usual.

Now, let's talk about the beautiful displays on these laptops. The SCAR 16 features a 16-inch screen with an 16:10 aspect ratio and a slim bezel design that gives you more vertical screen real estate. The SCAR 18 boasts a 18-inch display with the same 16:10 aspect ratio, making it ideal for gaming and content creation. Both laptops offer Quad HD 240Hz panels with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and three milliseconds of response time on 500 nits of brightness.

The SCAR 16 is also available in the Nebula HDR display, which uses Mini LED technology containing 1024 individual zones for very high contrast and up to 1100 nits of peak brightness. This feature alone makes these laptops stand out from the competition, as most smartphones don't even reach this level of brightness.

Moving on to the cooling system, we have a comprehensive setup that ensures you can get serious gaming out of these machines. The laptops feature the same ports on both devices, with one power DC port, one 2.5G LAN RJ-45 jack, one HDMI 2.1 port for 4K up to 120Hz or 8K up to 60Hz, two USB Type-C ports, one of which has Thunderbolt 4, and two USB A 3.2 Gen2 ports.

Under the right side of the laptop, you'll find Wi-Fi 6E for extremely fast connectivity with a compatible router. The audio system includes quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, featuring two tweeters and two downward firing woofers. Additionally, the laptops support Hi-Res audio as well as Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation.

In terms of battery life, the ROG Strix SCAR 16 has a 90Wh battery that will give you up to 14.1 hours of video playback. However, gaming performance will vary depending on your settings and what you're playing. Fortunately, USB Type-C charging is supported up to 100W, but the included 330W adapter will power these up from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes.

For pricing and availability, starting prices for the ROG Strix SCAR 16 begin at around £3,300, while the SCAR 18 starts at around £3,400. While this might be a significant investment for some, if you're looking for the most powerful gaming laptops available right now, these are definitely worth considering.

In conclusion, the ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18 are powerhouse gaming laptops that offer unparalleled performance, features, and technologies. Whether you're a professional gamer or content creator, these laptops will provide you with an unbeatable experience. So, what do you guys think of the ROG Strix SCAR 16 and 18?
