A Day at YouTube's Campus: A Look at the Perks and Challenges
Working for a global company like YouTube can have its perks, especially when it comes to travel opportunities. I've had the chance to visit New York and other countries, often coinciding with work trips that allow me to relax and enjoy myself before diving back into work mode. One of the coolest aspects of working for a global company is having access to multiple offices around the world. In my case, I get to visit Mountain View every two weeks or so, where I can experience a more crowded environment with plenty of food options and cafeterias. However, this also means dealing with traffic congestion and a bustling atmosphere that's quite different from what I'm used to.
When I'm not working at the main office, I often find myself in empty meeting rooms, using them as makeshift workspaces while I get my tasks done. To make things more enjoyable, I like to explore the surrounding area and discover new cafes or food spots. In this case, I stumbled upon a smoothie place that serves excellent drinks, which quickly became a favorite spot for me.
Despite the perks of working at YouTube, there are also some challenges that come with it. For instance, navigating the campus can be tricky, especially when trying to find my way around or locating specific amenities. However, once I get familiar with the layout, it becomes much easier to explore and make the most of my time on campus.
One of the highlights of working at YouTube is having access to a variety of food options. While the main office has three cafes that offer a range of cuisines, Google's campus boasts dozens of them, making it easy to find something that suits everyone's taste buds. However, I prefer working at the YouTube campus because it's less crowded and offers a more relaxed atmosphere.
Speaking of crowds, I recall when I first joined the company, my orientation was filled with getting lost and trying to figure out where everything was. It's not as complicated now, thanks to familiarity with the campus layout. However, there are still moments when I feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of people on site.
To make up for it, I've taken to finding ways to stay entertained while working from my makeshift desk or exploring the surrounding area. This has led me to discover some hidden gems, like the excellent smoothie place I mentioned earlier. It's also become a habit to meet new people and make connections while I'm on campus, which has been incredibly rewarding.
As the day comes to a close, I find myself looking forward to checking out local attractions or trying out new food spots. The Google store is one such spot that I recently visited with my friends, where we picked up some souvenirs and fun memories. It's available to the public, but be aware that it can be tricky to find.
Overall, working at YouTube has its perks and challenges, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. From travel opportunities to delicious food options, there's always something new to explore on campus. And who knows? Maybe one day, I'll take you all out to lunch and show you the ropes of life as a YouTuber.

right that was good there's the excellent smoothie place around here let's go get some the game DVR it's great so since I don't have a desk here I usually just find one of these empty meeting rooms that I can work out of I'm gonna get their work done here and I'll see you again at lunchtime all right so now I'm on the bicycle I heard there's a bowling alley somewhere so I'm gonna go check that out and see if I can show with you guys so we're on our way through the bowling alley and just taking a easy bike ride yeah honestly the first few weeks you're here it feels like Disneyland a lot of um buildings to visit it's cool here we are so yeah they wanted 15 to 20 minutes for cappuccino so I'm just gonna skip it there's a cafe around here that is reservation not only so let's check it out so they weren't open yet but that's fine there's another cafe I want to show you which is bigger before we do that I found a garden we got kale chili peppers and just a variety of plants here it's good to look at all right found another meeting room now now it's time to get back to work do a little bit more and then I'll see you next time at lunch time I'm gonna try to get into lunch now we're gonna head over to Charlie's cafe which is pretty terrifying for me to go to because it gets crowded so fast and it is the largest cafe with many food stations if it's not that great actually it's just big and I thought I would show it to you guys I normally wouldn't choose to eat there but since we're going there I want to get there early if I get there late I'm not gonna get lunch and I might starve sometimes people ask me is it better to work at YouTube or Google and in my opinion I prefer working at the YouTube campus because it's just far less crowded and and the location is nice too it's right near San Francisco so you have access to the city you know back there I was trying to get a cappuccino and they wanted me to wait 15 to 20 minutes for that over at YouTube you can get it very quick now you don't have as much selection of food YouTube has only three cafes whereas Google has dozens of them but how many cafes do you really need you know like foods about the same in each one anyway most importantly the traffic is far better over at YouTube like here I had to get in before 8 a.m. and I plan to get outta here before 5 p.m. because if you don't you'll be stuck here at the merchandise store this is available to the public it can be a little difficult to find so make sure you look at that so let me just show you guys quickly with ibop so they're most twenty four bucks and three juggling balls you know got practice that can flip yeah so this was really pretty expensive but there's also a cheaper online shop just so you guys know it's not all fun and games around here there's also a lot of eating to be done the campus is open to the public although you can't enter the buildings but there is an exception if you subscribe to my channel and you ever see me
