The Google Pixel 9 series is a HUGE upgrade (HANDS-ON FIRST LOOK!)

Google's New Pixel 9 Series: A Game-Changer with AI-Powered Features

The Pixel 9 series is a game-changer for Google fans, bringing a slew of new features and design enhancements that are sure to elevate the user experience. One of the most exciting aspects of these phones is the integration of Google's advanced AI-powered technology, dubbed Gemini. This new feature set is designed to make life easier and more convenient for users, with a focus on enhancing productivity, creativity, and organization.

One of the coolest features of the Pixel 9 series is called "Add Me." This innovative feature allows you to take a group photo, but instead of having someone else take it for you, the phone takes the picture and then hands it off to another person in the group. The resulting photo appears seamless, as if everyone was present in the frame all along. This feature will be a godsend for those who find themselves in situations where they need to capture a group shot without anyone being available to take the photo.

Another exciting feature of the Pixel 9 series is called "Pixel Screenshots." We've all been there - you take a screenshot, save it to your photos collection, and then spend minutes digging through your files to find that one specific screenshot from months ago. Gemini's solution to this problem is a whole new app called Pixel Screenshots. When you search for a screenshot within this app, Gemini will automatically retrieve the relevant image from your phone, along with a brief summary of what it depicts. This feature alone could save users hours of time and frustration in the long run.

The third feature that stands out to us is "Call Notes." This innovative tool allows you to record phone calls, create a transcript, and even summarize the conversation in text form. The beauty of this feature lies in its ability to make it easy for you to reference previous conversations at a later time. Whether you're looking to recall specific details from a business meeting or simply want to keep track of important discussions with friends and family, Call Notes is sure to become an indispensable tool.

But that's not all - the Pixel 9 series also introduces a whole new set of AI-powered features, including an app called Pixel Studio for image generation, a tool called Reimagine for editing photos, and a list-building feature powered by generative AI using Google Keep. These new tools and features are designed to make life easier, more creative, and more productive.

Design-wise, the Pixel 9 series boasts a sleek and modern design that's sure to turn heads. Gone are the days of bland, cookie-cutter smartphone designs; these phones are bold, innovative, and truly stand out from the crowd. The price point for these phones, however, is a different story altogether. With prices increasing significantly across all models (except for the foldable), we can't help but wonder whether Google's decision to revamp their design and feature set has come at too great a cost.

Personally, I believe that the new features and design enhancements more than justify the price increases. The Pixel 9 Pro XL, for example, stays at the same price point as its predecessor last year, while the larger phone gets an upgrade. Meanwhile, the foldable model also remains unchanged in terms of pricing. While this may come as a shock to some users, I firmly believe that these phones are worth the investment.

Ultimately, the decision is up to each individual user - do you think Google's done enough to justify the price increases? Are there enough new features and design enhancements to make these phones worth considering? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enokay so I go to quite a few smartphone launches every year and I got to say some of them can be pretty boring you can only re-release the same phone over and over again so many times before you'll see a lot of people in the audience start to yawn but I just attended an early launch of the pixel 9 series and I got to say these are some of the most exciting phones I've seen in a long long time for the first time ever we have four separate phones launching in the pixel9 series first we have the addition of the pixel 9 Pro this has the same name as the pixel 8 Pro from last year but it is smaller it is the same size as the pixel 9 that means you now have a choice do you want the pixel 99 and spend a little less money to get a lower grade camera and some lower grade specs or do you want to spend a little bit more money and get the same size phone but with that Pro LEL camera camera and those Pro level specs now because of this the pixel 9 Pro XL takes the place of the pixel 8 Pro it is about the same size as the pixel 8 Pro and has all the same features as the pixel 9 Pro and then we have the pixel 9 Pro fold this is essentially the pixel fold 2 for whatever reason Google's decided to lump it in with the pixel 9 series so this will no longer have its own separate launch events and its own separate name it is now part of the pixel9 series not only did Google revamp the structure of the series but it also changed the design of every single phone this year I personally think that this revap looks amazing Google has made it so that all the phones except for the fold have flat sides this makes them look a lot like the Galaxy s24 series or if you want to go there the iPhone series it also redesigned the camera bar on every single phone on the pixel 9 phones that don't fold you have a new camera bar that looks like an oval it kind of looks like the material U icons that you see inside Android which of course makes sense since this is supposed to be the flagship phone for the Android operating system meanwhile on the foldable phone we have this new squirkle camera bump which I think looks pretty cool even if it is going to make the phone wobble on a table if you set it down the pixel 9 Pro fold also gets a dramatic redesign it is now a little bit Slimmer and a lot taller it no longer has that passport look Google invested in with the pixel fold the pixel9 pro fold is also a lot thinner seriously when I unfolded it and saw just how thin it was I was pretty surprised granted it's not the thinnest foldable I've ever seen but it certainly is the thinnest foldable I've seen launched here in the United States along with these dramatic redesigns we also have some more subtle things going on for example all of the phones have Gorilla Glass victus 2 on the front and back except for the fold of course the phones also have Slimmer bezels that are uniform all around which makes them look really classy as one would expect we also see a whole bunch of spec upgrades this year with some being really exciting and some being kind of mad first we have tensor G4 the new processor across every single phone in the pixel 9 series tensor G4 is not the big advancement over tensor G3 that we may have hoped for instead tensor G4 is a little bit like a tensor g3.5 it's based on the same architecture as tensor G3 but everything is made just a a little bit better so that means we should see a little bit better performance a little bit better battery life and hopefully a little bit better thermal performance every phone also gets some camera upgrades this year not every lens gets upgraded but we do have some big upgrades so first all the non-foldable phones get a new ultrawide sensor we jump from 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels for those and that should make it so that you have better ultrawide performance and you'll also have a new macro mode that'll help you get into those really tight shots on the pixel 9 Pro and the pixel 9 Pro XL we also have a brand new selfie camera that jumps to 42 megapixels making it the best selfie camera that's ever been on a pixel ever unfortunately the pixel 9 Pro fold does not get this upgrade it only gets some minor upgrades to its two selfie cameras which appear on the front of the phone on the cover display and on the inside of the phone the primary sensor on the three non-foldable phones stays the same from last year though so that's a 50 megapixel sensor but remember that camera is probably one of the best cameras we saw in 2023 so it should still be pretty good in 2024 unfortunately we don't see any upgrades to the base level storage this year Google still thinks that 128 GB is fine enough for the base level on these phones I think that's not right I think it just started 256 GB especially when you consider what you're going to be paying for these phones we also have a spec upgrade that I am very excited about which is the fingerprint sensor on the pixel 9 pixel 9 pro and pixel9 pro XL we jump from a traditional Optical fingerprint sensor to an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor this is basically the same fingerprint sensor that you find in the Galaxy s24 series it should be faster and more accurate than what you've seen on Pixel phones in the past unfortunately the pixel 9 Pro fold because of the way it's designed it does not get an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor it instead has the same capacitive fingerprint sensor in the power button as you saw on the original pixel fold finally Google has upgraded the ram across all the phones so the pixel 9 jumps from 8 GB to 12 GB and the pro level phones all jump from 12 GB to 16 GB so why did Google decide it was going to give so much RAM to these phones well it needs to because it needs to supply that extra memory to all the AI features that are baked into this phone obvious obviously this is Google we're talking about so we have a lot of Gemini things to cover in fact the pixel 9 series are the first phones that will come with Gemini turned on out of the box that's right Google Assistant will not be turned on by default you can go back to Google Assistant if you want to but most people probably won't do that honestly Google is introducing so many new Gemini features to these phones that I don't have time to go over all of them but I do want to focus on three of them that I think are going to enhance my life once I get my hands on one of these devices the first Gemini feature that I think is really cool is called add me this is for those situations in which you want to take a group photo but you don't have somebody there to take the photo for you what you do is you take a photo of the group and then hand the phone off to somebody else you go then stand in the place where you would have been standing if you were in the group photo they take that photo and then Google stitches them all together making it seem like you were in the photo the whole time this will be great for those situations in which you're with the big group and you don't have somebody there to take a photo for you or it's just you and another person out in a remote location and you don't want to do that traditional arm extended selfie photo another cool Gemini feature is called pixel screenshots we all do it we all take screenshots on our smartphone and save them to our photos collection so that we can refer to them later the problem is is that when you want to see that screenshot how do you find it Well Gemini is going to solve this problem for you now there's a whole separate app called pixel screenshots this is where all your screenshots are going to end up when you do a search in this app you can find those screenshots that you've taken before and Gemini will even give you a little summary of what the screenshot is referencing this should prevent you from having to go digging for those screenshots you took months ago which for me is going to be a lifechanger my third favorite new Gemini feature is called call notes this will record your phone call create a transcript of that phone call and through the power of Gemini give you a text summary of that phone call this all gets saved so that you can reference it later this is going to make it very easy for you to go back and reference things that have been said in previous phone calls so you can access them later these are just my three favorite of the Gemini features there are so many more coming there's a new app called pixel Studio that's basically an image generation app there's a new tool Inside Magic editor called reimagine that allows you to put AI generated imagery on top of the shops that you've already taken and a new way to create lists through generative AI using Google keep these are on top of all the already existing Gemini features that you already know and love on Pixel phones so get ready because there's a lot of AI stuff coming to pixels with the pixel 9 series Google has totally revamped the designs of the phones and introduced a whole bunch of new features that are probably going to enhance your life this is not really the norm most of the time when companies release phones they just kind of I don't know phone it in they just release the same looking phone and maybe toss in a couple of AI powered features here and there now with this revamp comes some bad news which is increase in prices we do see significant price increases for all the phones except for the foldable so the pixel 9 jumps from $6.99 to $799 putting it at the same entry point level as an iPhone meanwhile the pixel 9 Pro the smaller one stays at the price that you paid for the pixel 8 Pro last year at $9.99 we also see that the pixel 9 Pro XL which is basically the equivalent of the pixel 8 Pro jumps up by $100 to $10.99 the pixel 9 Pro fold though stays at the same price $17.99 personally I think these price increases are Justified because these phones look great and come with a lot of new features and not to mention some of those spec upgrades like that ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and more RAM across all the devices but I want to know what you think do you think that Google's done the right thing by revamping the line do you think that Google has Justified these price increases let us know in the comments and in the meantime I will see you guys in the next video\n"
