How to Backup Old iPhone & Restore to iPhone XS_XS Max (Setup Process)

Transferring Data from Old iPhone to New iPhone 10s/10s Max: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you recently upgraded to an iPhone 10s or 10s max, you may be wondering how to transfer all your data from your old iPhone to the new one. Fortunately, Apple makes it relatively easy to do so, and we'll walk you through the process in this article.

Before we begin, make sure that both your old iPhone and new iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This will ensure a smooth and seamless transfer process. Also, take note of the total amount of data being transferred, as it may take some time depending on your internet speed and the amount of data you have.

The first step is to go through the setup process on your new iPhone 10s/10s max. You'll be prompted with a screen that says "Updating backup" followed by "iCloud Backup." While this is updating, you can see the terms and conditions and settings from your backup being displayed on the screen. Don't worry too much about these; just click on continue to proceed.

Once the update process is complete, you'll be asked to agree to the terms and conditions of using Apple Pay and Screen Time app analytics, if desired. Select "No" for Screen Time app analytics, as we won't be sharing data with developers in this tutorial. You can also see the difference between true tone on and off by clicking on the option.

If you have songs or applications from other Apple IDs, you may need to enter your passcode to authorize the transfer. However, since these are mostly songs that I've downloaded online, we'll skip this step for now.

Now, the screen will prompt you to set up your new iPhone using your Apple ID. This is a good opportunity to sign in with an existing account or create a new one. Once signed in, click on "Finish" to complete the setup process.

Next, your old iPhone will be prompted to restore its data onto the new iPhone 10s/10s max. This process may take around 5-10 minutes depending on the amount of data being transferred and your internet speed. Don't worry if you see a progress bar; this is just Apple's way of letting you know that everything is transferring smoothly.

While we wait for the restore process to complete, we can use this opportunity to remove the SIM card from our old iPhone and put it into our new one. This will ensure that we have the same phone number and all that good stuff on the new device.

After the restore process is complete, your new iPhone 10s/10s max will reboot automatically. Once you unlock the device, you'll notice that everything has been successfully transferred from your old iPhone to the new one. You can see that we have the same lockscreen, all our text messages, applications, wallpaper, and contacts are still there on the new phone.

To verify this, we can open up the Photos app and check how many photos are now stored on our new iPhone 10s/10s max - a total of 2,940 photos. We can also check our Text Messages and Applications to ensure that everything is intact.

Finally, we have arrived at the end of our tutorial. With these steps, you should be able to transfer all your data from your old iPhone to your new iPhone 10s/10s max without any issues.
