There's a New Folding Smartphone in Town...
The Honor Magic Vs is a foldable smartphone that boasts a large 7.9-inch display internally, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 and features a smart resolution option that dynamically adjusts to optimize performance and battery life. The device also has a fast refresh rate of up to 120Hz, providing a snappy and responsive user experience. In addition to its impressive display, the Honor Magic Vs also features an 8-megapixel F1.9 camera on the front-facing side, which is ideal for selfies and video conferencing.
One of the standout features of the Honor Magic Vs is its innovative hinge design, dubbed "super light" and "gearless," which enables the device to fold completely flat and tight across the entirety of the folded region. This advanced technology measures just 12.9 millimeters when folded and weighs only 261 grams, making it one of the lightest devices in its class. The hinge is also composed of a single piece casting processing technology that drastically reduces the number of components compared to other folding phone hinges on the market.
The Honor Magic Vs comes with a range of storage options, including 256GB or 512GB of internal storage and up to 12GB of RAM. It also features a 66W supercharged USB-C port for fast charging, as well as a power brick that allows users to charge their device on the go. The device is available in three color options: cyan, orange gold, and black.
In terms of design, the Honor Magic Vs has a slim profile with a bezel-free display on the front, making it feel more like a traditional smartphone than a foldable device. The device also features a single-piece casting processing technology that enables its gearless hinge. When not in use, the screen wraps around the side, giving the device a sleek and compact appearance.
The Honor Magic Vs also comes with a range of other features, including dual speakers for stereo sound and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power switch. The device also has a 3x optical zoom camera on the rear, which is ideal for capturing high-quality photos in various situations.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Honor Magic Vs is its battery life, which is said to last up to two days of moderate use. This is made possible by the large 4500mAh battery, as well as the device's power-efficient hardware and software optimization.
The Honor Magic Vs also features a range of other connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. The device also supports 5G networks, making it an ideal choice for users who need fast and reliable mobile connectivity.
Overall, the Honor Magic Vs is a highly impressive foldable smartphone that boasts a range of innovative features and technologies. From its large display to its gearless hinge design, this device is sure to turn heads among tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso you guys know that I am a big fan of folding devices folding phones well folding anything in terms of tech because it takes something bigger makes it smaller I made a video recently looking at folding devices that I haven't been able to get my hands on today I have another entry into that Marketplace this is the honor magic vs and they have attempted to make something even thinner less cumbersome than the other folding devices that are currently available so the interior display on this unit is going to be 7.9 inches foldable OLED with a refresh rate up to 90 Hertz 800 nits brightness 2272 by 1984 and then the exterior display is actually quite large as well 6.45 inches OLED 120 hertz refresh now the other thing they've been able to do is pack a 5 000 milliamp hour battery in here and as you can see it has this kind of like aqua tealish color with a matte finish camera unit in this section huge external display it's just more convenient to interact with the external display so it's been great to see these things get significantly larger 54 megapixel IMX 800 F 1.9 you also have a 50 megapixel ultrawide F2 and an 8 megapixel 3x optical zoom at f24 it will do video up to UHD 3840 so there is your big internal display with the front facing camera I want to test the hinge a pretty strong spring popping things open satisfying magnetic type of tap there you can see the way that the glass wraps around the side basically AIDS in having the thing feel thinner than it actually is you have your USB type-c down on the bottom speaker unit your sim trays over there the fingerprint scanner inside of the power switch obviously and your volume rocker is over there as well up on the top of the device another speaker because we're talking about stereo sound obviously front-facing camera on the exterior display is in the center so it's symmetrical okay so the device is booted up now and this gives you your first glimpse into the screen to body ratio which is actually pretty impressive on the external display now when I pop it open things obviously get quite a bit larger so that's your 7.9 inch display internally look at this resolution so you have a smart resolution option which is going to dynamically choose the optimal resolution for for appearance and battery life though obviously the benefits of fast refresh it goes beyond just gaming and into the snappiness of the device or the feeling that you get of quickness so it's nice to have fast Refresh on both of these displays this looks like a power brick 66 watt supercharged USB C to a our Sim tool got a paperwork oh and also a cover so it looks like this cover sort of carries through the color from the device so you're still representing your color Choice it only covers the back of the phone which is fine with me I mean the bezel on the front is so slim to begin with what would you really even be covering there so this is going to clip on the back it almost has like a leatherish feel to it even though it's synthetic so this color is officially called cyan and the device will also be available in Orange gold and black they're calling the hinge super light and gearless well the whole device feels a little bit less like a brick and more like a typical smartphone because it's lighter weight it's 261 grams so for an almost eight inch display that's I mean that's pretty lightweight some other specs the front-facing camera 16 megapixel f245 of course the chip Snapdragon 8 plus gen 1 it's available with 8 gigs of RAM 256 storage or 12 gigs Ram 256 or 512 gigs of storage now the other thing that honor is really proud of here is this hinge which enabled this design so they're calling it a groundbreaking super light gearless hinge with single piece casting processing technology you have far fewer components compared to other hinge systems that exist on foldables from other brands so it measures just 12.9 millimeters when it's folded and 261 grams in weight while featuring the largest battery in the same class of foldable smartphones it uses a single piece casting processing technology to drastically reduce the number of components from 92 to four four pieces in the hinge whoa feels a lot like some of those other hinges yet somehow it's only four components and somehow the device is thinner and lighter okay and that's the other thing it folds completely flat and tight across the entirety of the folded region that's a pretty thin sheet of paper tight the whole way like don't try this at home there's really no need to but put it right on the hinge there listen to how tight that is yeah I don't doubt what they're saying it's pretty impressive engineering certainly 400 000 folds which is equivalent to more than 10 years of use with 100 folds per day and with this amazing exterior display in this case you might actually spend a lot of time out here anyways because this is one of the nicer displays that I've seen on the exterior of a foldable up the brightness there look at that pot right there okay so here's the thing about this device I have a super early version of it at the moment so therefore I can't evaluate the cameras or other aspects of the software which is going to change prior to the actual public release of the device so the point of this video was to kind of give a hardware overview sort of check out their approach considering this is still a new area of the market most people with smartphones still haven't tried folding phones and many have been waiting for a greater variety of folding phones to choose from this is the new honor magic vs and you can let me know down below how you think it compares to some of the other options hopefully I'll be able to dive a little deeper into it test out these cameras and such at a later date once the software has been updated foreignso you guys know that I am a big fan of folding devices folding phones well folding anything in terms
