Phone with 15 Year Battery Life! Spare One Emergency Cell Phone - CES 2013

A Unique Emergency Mobile Phone at CES 2013

Lew here and we're looking at yet another cool device here at CES 2013, it's called the Spare One. At first glance, it looks like a cell phone from about 10 years ago, but this one serves a very specific purpose - as an emergency mobile phone with a 15 year battery life on one double-A battery. This means that you can store this thing in your basement, your vehicle, or even in your bunker, preparing for the zombie apocalypse or anything like that, because you can pick it up without the need for a wall outlet charger and use it straight away.

One of the most interesting features of the Spare One is its ability to call 911. But what's even more impressive is that it does so without the need for a SIM card - simply insert one if you want to make calls to other individuals, but even without a SIM card, it will still be able to call 911. This means that you can use this device in emergency situations, such as natural disasters or power outages, where access to traditional communication networks may be limited.

Another cool function of the Spare One is its built-in GPS and location tracking capabilities. If you give this device to a child, an elderly person, or someone who might get lost, you can open up a web browser and see the location of both the device itself and whoever is carrying it. This can be a lifesaver in situations where someone gets separated from their caregivers.

For many people, having a landline is no longer necessary, as they rely solely on cell phones for communication. However, the Spare One offers an alternative backup option - a device that has power and can call 911 even when traditional networks are down. This makes it a unique and valuable tool in emergency situations, and we're excited to see how it will be received by consumers.
