2020 Land Rover Defender 110 _ Review

**Introduction to Land Rover Defender 110**

Hello and welcome to our off-road adventure in Hungary Valley, one of California's premier off-road destinations with over 19,000 acres of land featuring more than 130 miles of twisting turning scenic trails. I'm your host Jeff, and today we're going to put the new 2020 Land Rover Defender 110 SE through its paces. This vehicle is a rebirth of the classic Defender, with a modern twist that's both stylish and technologically advanced.

**Design and Features**

The Land Rover Defender 110 SE oozes heritage and style, with a distinctive pangaea green paintwork that looks fantastic on this beast. The exterior design is a masterclass in minimalist chic, with clean lines, circles, and boxes that come together to create a vehicle that's both classically cool and modern. Take note of the step on the hood – it's not actually diamond plate, but rather non-structural plastic that hopefully will be improved upon by aftermarket manufacturers.

**Interior and Comfort**

Slide inside the Defender 110 SE, and you'll find yourself enveloped in comfort and luxury. The seats are oh-so-comfortable, with a perfect balance of support and cushioning that makes you feel like you're floating inside the vehicle. There's also ample space for passengers or cargo, making this an ideal daily driver for those who need to transport people or gear on a regular basis.

**Performance and Capabilities**

Under the hood of the Defender 110 SE lies a supercharged 3-liter V6 engine that produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. This beast is capable of sending the vehicle straight up steep hills with ease, as demonstrated by our test drive in Hungary Valley. With its impressive performance capabilities, the Defender 110 SE is well-suited for both on-road and off-road adventures.

**Technology and Features**

The Land Rover Defender 110 SE boasts an impressive array of features and technologies, including a modern infotainment system with a touchscreen display, navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity. There's also a range of convenience features like air conditioning, cruise control, and automatic headlights. While the screen can be slow to respond at times, this is largely offset by the vehicle's excellent ergonomics and comfortable ride.

**Configuration and Customization**

One of the standout features of the Land Rover Defender 110 SE is its versatility in terms of configuration and customization. With a range of trim levels and options available, you can tailor your Defender to suit your specific needs and preferences. Whether you opt for a five-seater family vehicle or a solo adventurer, there are ways to configure the Defender to make it work for you.

**Conclusion**

As I hand over the reins of this magnificent vehicle back to Lynn, I must say that I'm going to miss driving the Land Rover Defender 110 SE. With its impressive performance capabilities, comfortable ride, and versatile configuration options, this is a daily driver that's sure to appeal to anyone looking for a capable and stylish off-road vehicle. Stay tuned for more updates on our adventure with the Defender – we'll be putting it through its paces in all sorts of challenging terrain.

**Additional Notes**

As I was testing the vehicle, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the classic Defender. The Defender 110 SE is certainly not cheap, with a starting price of around $50,000 for the 110 model and $47,000 for the 90 model. However, for those who are willing to invest in a capable and luxurious off-road vehicle, the Defender is well worth considering.

I did take my kiddo on a test drive in this vehicle and she loved it – there's plenty of room for car seats, making this an excellent choice for families or road trips with gear. And while we're waiting for the two-door Defender 90 to arrive, I couldn't help but feel a little pang of envy at those who are currently driving the Wrangler Rubicon or Gladiator – they do look like fun.

As for me, I'm not ready to give this vehicle up just yet. The Monster Energy drink is keeping me fueled, and the thrill of sending this beast into high gear is addicting. So, we'll continue our adventure in the Land Rover Defender 110 SE, exploring all that it has to offer.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enoh my have i been waiting for this one right here this is the new defender but getting my hands on this means sharing it see that woman right there that's lynne woodward from kelly blue book she is doing her review right now too and you should go check that out at our sister sites youtube channel she's going to tell you all about some great facts and figures plus she's really good at driving vehicles in the dirt so hers will be pretty straightforward mine i think i'm going to give it the full send treatment let's go hi jeff hi jeff and we're doing so in hungary valley this is one of california's great off-road areas with over 19 000 acres of land featuring more than 130 miles of twisting turning scenic trails i brought the monster energy drink and today my tag might as well read kyle sanderson so what exactly are we sending this is land rover's defender reborn more specifically this is the 2020 land rover defender 110 se it's the longer of the two available body styles with the other being a two-door defender 90 that will make its arrival sometime for the 2021 model year this thing oozes heritage and also styling and tech the pangaea green paintwork looks fantastic and you've got circles on boxes and the whole thing comes together to make something that is classically cool looking yet still modern somehow yeah you see that step on the hood that's another heritage nod to the old one but don't actually step there that piece of diamond plate is not diamond plate it is non-structural plastic hopefully someone can fix that in the aftermarket because it's kinda lame slide inside and the seats are oh so comfortable i feel in command yet not like i'm swimming inside this thing it's perfectly sized if you need more space this front row can be fitted with a center seat or you can ditch that and have a fridge perfect for keeping cold water bottles stowed away during your urban safaris to whole foods and beyond and you can get to your local shopping center with the quickness because this is a p400 model and that means there is a supercharged three liter v6 under the hood it's making 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and i'm gonna send it straight up this hill see what happens i don't have traction control on though so i don't know oh yeah oh yeah ain't no fang in the defender 110. that was very easy and very awesome there's hill descent control which i'm not using but it would be helpful in this situation but i don't need it right now the other engine offered is a turbocharged 2-liter inline 4-cylinder mill that produces 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque other markets outside of the states can also opt for a diesel engine and they all pair together with a zf8 speed gearbox and four-wheel drive it drives great it has independent front rear suspension and it has raisable air suspension so you can do all kinds of things on-road and off-road it has good manners across the board this section is called frame twister bang bang boom imagine if you put like actually good tires on this that'd be wonderful it's certainly not cheap the land rover defender starts at a surprisingly reasonable relatively speaking 50 000 for the 110. a defender 90 starts at 47 000 it's a shame they don't offer those sweet steel wheels on higher trims though as they look perfect because you're gonna want higher trims and that supercharged inline six and this 110 has tested it's a little over seventy two thousand to be fair though people are spending sixty thousand dollars on wrangler rubicons and gladiators and i mean i know which one i'd rather be in the bronx okay we can't say that yet we haven't driven it but it will be a strong contender for everyone's cash at least those looking for dual natured beast there's plenty of room for car seats as i had my kiddo in this thing a few days prior and she loved it these are proper daily drivers that can spend the weekends getting filthy in the mountains the land rover will certainly get the edge on the interior the tech is great the outside looks fantastic the screen can be sluggish at times but it otherwise is improved over other jaguar landover products of the past and it looks great the way it's kind of floating in here there's cubbies everywhere there's great room you can have this as a five plus two seater a six seater uh just a five seater there's ways to configure it to make your life work with your new defender lifestyle and i'm supposed to give this back to lynn so she can keep shooting her video but i think i'm going to hold on to it for just a little bit longer i haven't really gone full send yet and i think it wants me to you just see things you point the little snout at it little angry birds face and you just go for it almost got tossed on that one plus these are rather comfortable though thumbs out for safety you don't want to break those digits off youoh my have i been waiting for this
