**Beats Solo Pro Review: A Simplified Audio Experience**
The Beats Solo Pro is a simplified audio experience that I really like because usually I end up fiddling around with the buttons and cycling through a bunch of different levels and settings, and it's just very confusing. This makes it a lot more simpler. There's also a 3-way rocker on the side of the headphones that lets you control volume, track changes, and call upon an assistant, whether it's Siri or Google Assistant with my Android phone.
**Sustainability Features**
Beats is following Apple's lead and the Solo Pro is made of 36 percent recycled material, and the felt case it comes with is also made of recycled material. The packaging also uses 70% recycled material, and it also has less air in them, so that helps with reducing the company's overall carbon footprint. Unlike the Powerbeats Pro, which were released earlier this year, these do not have an IP rating, so they're not water or dust resistant. However, Beats said that you should have no trouble wearing these in heavy rain and they're also totally going to be fine with dealing with sweat.
**Active Noise-Cancelling**
Active noise-cancelling is the big feature here, and unlike most other headphones with active noise-cancelling, you don't have to cycle through several levels on the Beats Solo Pro. There's an algorithm that changes 50,000 times per second adapting to the sound in your environment, and it automatically adjusts the level of noise canceling so that you can hear less exterior sounds. So, if you're going from a really quiet coffee shop and you're walking out into the street, into the rustle and bustle of the streets, you'll feel this noise canceling level automatically adjusting because it probably wasn't doing much when you were in that coffee shop.
**Transparency Mode**
What's really impressive is transparency mode, which lets you listen to your surroundings without having to lift an ear cup or take off the headphones. The sound comes in through the two exterior microphones and it doesn't sound digitally processed even though that's what's happening. It sounds pretty natural, and there's very low latency, and honestly, it's one of the standout features on the Beats Solo Pro.
**Audio Quality**
I didn't get a ton of time to test the music side of things, but I liked what I heard so far. The highs registered clearly, and the bass in typical Beats fashion sounded very own-footed if you don't like that these might not be the headphones for you. But we'll be testing the audio quality a lot more for our final review.
**Additional Features**
The Solo Pro uses the H1 chip from Apple, which allows you to get access to features like proximity pairing, iCloud pairing, which lets you connect it to other iCloud-connected devices pretty easily, and the ability to say the Siri hot words so you can access Apple's assistant hands-free. Some of these features are also available for Android owners through the Beats app on Google Play.
**Battery Life**
Some of the battery life specs were a bit underwhelming, as Beats is claiming 40 hours of music playback without those features turned on, which is active noise-cancelling and transparency mode. However, with those features turned off, you're looking at 22 hours of battery life. That's not as good as competitors like Sony's WH-1000XM3, which lasts up to 30 hours with active noise canceling.
**Design**
The design of the Beats Solo Pro is a little pricey, but I diggin' it. They're available for pre-order now and will officially go on sale October 30th.

redesigned with simplicity sustainability and noise canceling in mind I had a brief time to check it out here's what it's like the design has changed quite a bit utilizing a matte finish that feels nice to the touch but also reduces the amount of fingerprints or smudges seen on the headphones themselves there's now a metal slider and it's made of anodized aluminum and it also adds a nice accent in color in the process better yet there's improved padding in the headband and the clamping force isn't too tight I never felt like the headphones were too uncomfortable around my head that's also probably thanks to the cups there's foam in there that's now thicker and denser making it really comfortable to wear it comes in black gray and ivory but I would go for the Pharrell Williams editions which comes in light blue dark blue and red I'm just a sucker for the more colorful option so I'd probably pick the light blue the theme here is simplicity and that's evident in the design like the sennheiser momentum 3 you can simply unfold the headphones to turn them on there's no power button and folding them up will turn it off if you want to leave them around your neck the headphones will go into a power conservation state so you're not losing a lot of battery life there's also only one button on the bottom of the headphones tap it once to turn on active noise-cancelling tap it again to turn on transparency mode which I'll get to in a second double tap it to turn them both off and just have normal audio playback it's very simple and something that I really like because usually I
