CM Storm Mizar - 8200 DPI Gaming Mouse Overview

The Miser from CM Storm: A Review of the Ivango 80 and S9800

The Miser is a gaming mouse that has garnered attention for its unique features and right-handed design. However, it's not necessarily a bad thing to see familiar elements in a new product, as can be seen with the Ivango 80 and S9800.

This mouse features a laser sensor, which is used to track movement on the screen. The soft touch paint coating on the surface of the mouse provides a comfortable grip for users. Additionally, there are seven fully programmable buttons available, allowing users to customize their gaming experience. Two of these buttons are located on the right side of the mouse, above a textured rubber area that enhances the grip. This design choice ensures that the thumb buttons do not interfere with each other, providing an optimal user experience.

On top of the mouse, we find our standard left and right click buttons, along with a scroll wheel featuring a bit of rubber in the middle to provide tactile feedback when scrolling through content. The scroll wheel can also be depressed again to activate another button, giving users more control over their actions on screen. Below the scroll wheel lies an up and down section for adjusting DPI settings, which changes color depending on the selected setting.

The CM Storm logo is printed in a small area at the back of the mouse, along with the model numbers 80 and S9800. The acceleration on this mouse is measured at 30g's, giving it plenty of force when navigating through complex levels. Additionally, it features a polling rate of 1000 Hz, making it suitable for fast-paced games.

In terms of dimensions, the mouse measures 60.4mm in length, 40.2mm in width, and 124.8mm in height. To put that into perspective, the same measurements translate to approximately 2.38 inches in length, 1.58 inches in width, and 4.91 inches in height when converted from millimeters to inches.

One of the most interesting aspects of this mouse is its weight, which comes in at 121 grams with the USB cable attached. However, without the cable, the actual unit weighs just 100 grams, making it significantly lighter than many other gaming mice on the market. This added weight does contribute a substantial amount to the overall size and weight of the product.

The braided cable is an impressive 1.8 meters long, providing users with plenty of flexibility when using the mouse in different settings. Furthermore, the gold-plated USB connector ensures that it remains secure and resistant to corrosion over time. As for software features, users can record a significant number of macros and adjust the color of the LED lights. They can also reprogram all the buttons on the mouse to suit their preferences.

Some people might find themselves disliking lathes, so CM Storm has made sure that they thought this into consideration when designing the Ivango 80 and S9800. As a result, they have created an alternative mouse called the Alcor 4000, which features IBago ads on it. The Alcor 4000 boasts incredibly high performance at 30-90 CPI, making it one of the most acclaimed infrared sensors available in the market today.

It's worth noting that CPI stands for count per inch and represents how many pixels the mouse sensor can detect on an inch of screen space. It is an important factor to consider when choosing a gaming mouse since higher DPI settings allow users to move their cursors more quickly across screens without needing to physically move the mouse.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enlet's check out the miser this is the miser from cm storm right there it is very right-handed and um you know but a bunch of features that i've seen before but that's not necessarily a bad thing let's just go straight into it and talk about what we've got here the ivango 80 and s9800 is the sensor that they're using here that's a laser sensor i've got a soft touch paint coating all across it seven fully programmable buttons now we've got two on the right here their thumb buttons they're right above this this textured rubber area that we have on the both the right and the left side it's uh makes it really nice as far as the grip goes the two thumb buttons do not get in the way at all on top we obviously have our left and right click and then we have our scroll wheel with a bit of rubber in the middle and that can also be depressed again to make another button and then here on the bottom we have uh you know up and down for your dpi or cpi or whatever you want to call it in your own happy little world of the same thing by default changes color to let you know uh there's four different uh settings you can go through i believe it's 800 1600 3200 and 8200 i might be completely silly but you can go into the software and change that up if you like on the back here we see we have some tiny these are actually some of the smallest polytechnic floral ethylene feed i've ever seen in my entire life but it did not seem to affect the glide at all and then uh there's like a shiny plastic with a little bit of the cm storm logo and then we have our 80 and s9 800 right there in the middle there it is the acceleration on this is 30 g's it's got a thousand hertz polling rate let's go through the dimensions because that's really important to a lot of you guys and i bet a lot of you guys have have heard all these specs before and you've looked around at different you know gaming peripherals and that sort of thing but the dimensions are important so in millimeters first 60.4 uh by 40.2 by 124.8 that's in millimeters again and then an inch is 2.38 by 1.58 by 4.91 the weight is 121 grams or 0.27 pounds it does feel um a bit lighter than most mice out there the weight without the usb cable is only 100 grams so the actual unit here itself is 100 grams and then it's a point that's 0.22 pounds now what's interesting about that is that this does add a significant amount of weight this braided cable it's a 1.8 meter braided cable so it's nice and long but the gold-plated usb that's important as well as far as the software goes um there's a decent amount you can do with it you can go in and record a bunch of macros you can change the the color of the led lights you can reprogram all the different buttons on here and this does have 128 kilobytes of onboard memory so you can store it right on here you know being such a lightweight mouse may feel uh sometimes people equate you know things that are lower in weight to being lower in quality but it does seem to have a a pretty decent build to it it appears to be just a solid lightweight mouse with the ivago 80 and s9800 and i can hear some of you guys out there saying i don't like lathes and life i don't like them at all make me stick throw them down the friggin stairs well you know they thought of that so they also made the alcor 4000 that's got the ibago uh ads which one 30 90 and that one is one of the most highly acclaimed infrared sensors out there on the market it's up to 4000 cpi so you guys can check that one out and again whenever i say cpi it's the same thing as dpi that's pretty much it if you guys have any questions put them in the comments and join this channel like follow it or whatever you guys do on on the youtubes i'm an old man you guys out there
