OnePlus 3T Re Review on Android Nougat with Midnight Black Edition

**OnePlus 9T Review: A Mid-Range Powerhouse with Some Quirks**

The OnePlus 9T, also known as the "midnight black edition," is a flagship smartphone that packs a punch without breaking the bank. In this review, we'll delve into the features, performance, and quirks of this device.

**Camera Performance: Good but Not Excellent**

The camera performance of the OnePlus 9T is good, but not excellent. The rear-facing camera features a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. While these cameras take great photos, they can struggle in difficult lighting conditions, especially compared to the flagships like the Galaxy S series or Pixel 6. However, the phone's software features, such as Portrait mode and Night mode, are top-notch. We recorded some sample videos with the front-facing camera, which showed a noticeable amount of shake and occasionally poor audio quality.

**Performance: Smooth and Fast**

The OnePlus 9T is one of the most fluid Android smartphones we've used. It's just like the Google Pixel, with no signs of lag or bugginess, even with heavy multitasking. The phone's performance is excellent, making it a great option for gamers and power users.

**Battery Life: Average**

The battery life of the OnePlus 9T is average at best. We got around 3.5 hours of screen time on a single charge, which is respectable but not exceptional. However, with typical usage, we saw an average of around 4 stars. The phone's fast charging capabilities, however, make up for this slightly. It can fully charge the device in just over half an hour.

**Screen Quality: Excellent**

The OnePlus 9T features a 1080p AMOLED touchscreen that's excellent in terms of quality. We used it outdoors on a sunny day and were impressed by how well the screen held up, even in direct sunlight. The display is flicker-free and has a high refresh rate, making for a smooth viewing experience.

**Build Quality: Solid**

The build quality of the OnePlus 9T is solid, if not outstanding. The phone feels premium in terms of materials and craftsmanship, but it does get warm when used extensively. We also noticed some minor issues with the phone's durability, such as a tendency to scratch easily.

**Software Updates: Hit or Miss**

The OnePlus 9T will likely receive software updates until at least Android 10, but we're not sure about beyond that. The company has a history of releasing updates quickly and thoroughly, but there have been some issues with the phone's update cycle in the past.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the OnePlus 9T is a great mid-range smartphone that packs a punch without breaking the bank. While it may not be perfect – particularly when it comes to camera performance in difficult lighting conditions – it's an excellent option for those looking for a fast and feature-packed device. If you can wait for a couple of months, we expect the OnePlus 9T Pro to launch around July, which will likely offer improved battery life and other features.

**Additional Notes**

The OnePlus 9T comes in only one storage configuration – 128GB – which may be a disappointment for those who prefer more storage options. Additionally, the phone's price is relatively affordable, but it may not be as cheap as we'd like. If you're willing to wait a couple of months, however, we expect the OnePlus 9T Pro to offer improved features and performance at a slightly higher price point.

**Sample Video Recording**

We recorded a sample video with the front-facing camera of the OnePlus 9T to test its performance in this regard. The video showed some noticeable shake and poor audio quality, which may be disappointing for those who plan to use the phone for video recording. However, we did notice that the owner of our review unit seemed more comfortable with the camera's performance than expected.

**Recommendation**

If you're looking for a mid-range smartphone with great performance, features, and a premium build quality, the OnePlus 9T is an excellent option. While it may not be perfect – particularly when it comes to camera performance – it's a solid choice for those who want a fast and feature-packed device without breaking the bank.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we're going to do a review of the one plus three T and I'm going to do it with this bit that Black Edition and I've been using this for the last nine days and about six months ago a hundred you two one plus three T and at that time it was running on Android the marshmallow but now we have got the Android know bit update now strangely I'm still on the Android version seven for some reason I know that the Android what do you say seventy point one has come out but I checked it again only the OTA update is not coming for the seven point one like that there's some clash with the seven point one so anyways this review will be based on the Android $7.00 yoga and I'm going to quickly share my experience so first thing is regarding the charger performance again even this midnight Black Edition is same internals as the regular 1 plus K T this also comes with us now but I need twenty one chipset so only thing is that this one the Black Edition comes only in the 128 gigabyte W and in terms of general performance the general performance is the same itself of the most fluid Android device that I've used and next to what is a Pyxis no now what anything that I've notice anything throw anything on it in terms of the ROM management at least on our Godwin 7.0 the land management has been good and never had any problems of apps getting sluggish or have to be reloaded during my normal course of usage so in terms of general performance the performance has been good very fluid no issues now moving to the fingerprint scanner still again the fingerprint scanner is excellent one of the most responsive fingerprint scanner as you can see the moment you touch on it it unlocks so very responsive fingerprint scanner that we are getting and some of you have asked me about this specifically the Black Edition we have the sub black Kirby coating on this one compared to the regular one cast three key which was in this color so up it is slightly now a fingerprint magnet but again it's as you can see it is current and in fact I was worried that it might get scratched because it's a paint over the metal what oneplus has done with this one and I've been using it for the last nine days without the case and as you can see have no issues with the scene so it's if you like the black color yes it's slightly a fingerprint magnet but again it's not like the paint that's getting chipped off if you don't use a case or anything like that as you can see still good now moving to the battery life and this has been very strange guys and I'm going to share my experience during the last lying days how was the battery life and surprisingly the battery life has gone down with this no good update because if you recall my earlier review that I did about three months ago over the one plus three teen that was on Al Gore marshmallow I used to get a screen on time between four hours to four and a half hours with my typical village but on this midnight black edition with the Android cent update the battery lives are actually falling down by about 30 minutes in terms of screen on time yes it can last me for a fully typical working day but it turns of screen on time I was getting the verse numbers that I've seen is around just over three hours of screen on time and the best because that I've seen it's just like you would for hours of screen on time so approximately I'm seeing about 20 minutes of screen ice time in less with the Android 7 update so I think so this is our update issue revert act with Android 7.1 some users who are reporting that the battery life has improved a little bit so again it might it might not but again some users were having stability issues with Android 7.1 of it that's the reason I think so that pull down and whenever I was checking for the OTA update it says it's an arm of the kind what is it version as you can see if you go to the ampere update have a AB system update it says checking for priorities and it says already have the latest version so yeah so the battery life has sort of decreased with Android Mugen and I feel the dose is also not that there another thing that I noticed is that if you see the screenshots in terms of screen on time it's hoping are the averages of our three and a half hours that I'm getting and it's not at night also the battery is draining quite a bit so again I think so it should improve with the software update but as of now I would say not very happy with the battery life on this one glass finding with the no cat update goddess on 7.0 now again it comes still comes with the fast charger that is the - charger so it charges again very quickly one of the fastest that we have seen and even eat anything is you sort of a heavy user you might have to top it up and the 20 minutes of stop of you should be good to go so again we are still getting that fast - chatting with this one and now moving to our the sheeting issues that I have been facing with this one as I've told you been using it for the last nine days and somebody's here in India but share my experience oneplus decided to go with the Snapdragon 820 one the regular one plus 3 has the Snapdragon 820 but with this treaty and the greeting a method Black Edition does happen is not running to anyone and what Plus chose to go with the higher claun - failure that is not a 2.35 gigahertz and I feel that is one of the main reasons that this 1 + 3 T tends to heat up a little bit more compared to the regular 1 + 3 even in the casual usage not a very heavy like gaming and stuff for example if I was just using the web browser for about 4 or 5 minutes doing a little bit of tweets here and there the handset that was getting actually won and so that is one thing that happened o tester again I thought with gaming the iWatch added quite a bit of gaming I break 2 games with it mana combat fight and but a thought which came a little heat too much but that was not the case one combat fire and fire but with a spat it I did notice some framedrops with this one and I think so the phone's processor was trying to lower the clock speed so that the temperatures does not do not rise so one thing is not even a casual usage the handset tends to get pretty warm at the back if you order it's not what you think but you can certainly feel the heat again I also had the one of those oneplus Genesis and if you apply that then I was not feeling that we but again if you use it without a case definitely the back when you hold the phone even with about five six minutes of casual browsing you will feel that the handset is getting pretty warm and I feel one pressed in a wrong decision by going with the Snapdragon 820 one higher clock version they should have gone with what picture did Google pixel did they also use the Snapdragon 820 one version but they use the lower clock frequency that improves the backfield so they should have one with that instead of this higher block version so you will feel the heat one again it's not from were eating or anything in fact in terms of overheating where is it gaming if you record into one plus three this older one when it was a marshmallow with as forget it touched forty five degrees Celsius so it was actually very hot but this one when I did the gaming with asthma rate it did not reach to high temperatures but it was dropping a few frames so it looks like now oneplus notice that these handset can get pretty warm quickly so they are sort of throttling it so that is one thing you have to be aware of I mean as after this modern combat 5 again it was very fluid in gaming but especially for the most part it was good but I did go to some framedrops now moving to the camera rear facing camera it's the same it's the same 16 megapixel camera that you find all the regular one plus DT no change in that and again in outdoor conditions and indecent 19.5 conditions the camera performance is good but in difficult lighting conditions certainly the camera performance is not as good as the flagships like the galaxy s n or the pixel pixel next but again those handsets do cost quite a bit more compared to this one now moving to the front facing camera again if you recall the one plus three finally the one plus three T this one the order one that I had with the front-facing camera specifically with the 1 / 3 d-day have a 16 megapixel front facing camera anecdote so video sometimes the video takes to shake that also was the case with this midnight black edition when we move the video can get a little bit shaky and but the owner was a lot better on this midnight black edition if you recall the audio recording with the one class three disfranchising camera audio was not that great but in this one it's a lot better but again there are some bouts of spikes again I recorded a sample video here you can check it out recording this sample video with the front-facing camera of the oneplus 20 this is a midnight edition and just wanted to test the front-facing camera because with one plus three T with the front-facing camera if you move the video was very wobbly and audio also was not that good so let's see how is the performance resistant one I'm just walking around and you guys let me know what do you think about this audio quality and the video quality with the front-facing camera of this one plus three T midnight sub Black Edition so one working about this one plus twenty midnight anything here in summary that I have and the first thing is that guys we have for this Black Edition to go with this one you only get this in one medium that is 128 gigabytes and that cross around 35,000 so again we don't have a 64 gigabyte variant as on or for the Black Edition and regarding the battery life I'm not that happy average of around three and a half hours to a mass of about four a star dancing with the typical days usage and again regarding the Android updates the battery life might improve but again it's a hit or a miss next figure that I liked about this device is again as I mentioned earlier also this is one of the most fluid Android smartphones that I've used it's just like the Google pixel and you don't notice any bagginess or anything right we are using this form so in terms of tactics of pleasure to use know that nothing we know whatever you do just bounces on this phone so that way it's a very faster converted phone again as I've told you the back takes to get actually pretty warm so that is one thing you have to be aware of are going to slap on a case then that sort of sobs that the issue and again regarding charging and instead one of the fastest in industry have you got - charging it can fully charge the device in just about one half and again regarding the screen this has a 1080p AMOLED touchscreen and I have to say the screen quality is actually very good even in this Indian summer yesterday I was using the phone outdoors in direct sunlight and even like that sunlight I found that was 2013 so Sun was shining directly then also the screen was easily visible so we have put a very good quality AMOLED screen that is easily visible in even in that harsh sunlight and not flickering to the build quality this is one thing that I really like about this one class 3 one custody as in terms of big quality the brick warranty is actually very good it just means like those higher-end premium smartphones now certainly a good phone but again not perfect the thing is that it does tend to get a little bit warmed with using and also as of now with the Android 7 dot or big I do not like the battery life the battery life is strictly average in terms of screen time anywhere around three and a half hours to max or what for us and I was getting with my typical usage and again regarding the timing we know that the 1 plus Phi might be announced in June or July timeframe so if you really want a device right now you can go with the oneplus pretty but if you can wait for a couple of months then we know that the oneplus our fight would be launching it might come around the July I'm saying so if you can get to that time I would suggest you wait so guys that's it for now for this sort of re review of this one plus 3t I've already posted other videos of the 1 plus 3t links for those videos will be there in the YouTube show notes so guys that's it for now for this video and if you have not subscribed to my youtube channel hit that subscribe button and for watching this is running down I hope to see you in my next videohi there this is Ranjit and in this video we're going to do a review of the one plus three T and I'm going to do it with this bit that Black Edition and I've been using this for the last nine
