Our Epic Edinburgh Adventure: A Travel Vlog Part 1

We're still trying to wrap our heads around what just happened. We were on a mission to explore the Royal Mile, and we stumbled upon this massive palace. I mean, it's like something out of Harry Potter. The Queen's gardens are stunning, with beautiful flowers and Arthur's Seat looming in the background. It's like nature is trying to compete with the grandeur of the palace.

We spent some time taking in the sights and sounds of the Royal Mile, but we couldn't resist the urge to try some Indian tapas at one of the local restaurants. The flavors were incredible, and it was a great way to refuel for our next adventure. After dinner, we headed back to our hotel room, exhausted from our day of walking. We've been on our feet all day, and I'm pretty sure we've walked over 1213 miles. That's not even close to an exaggeration - we're talking serious hiking terrain.

As we settled in for the night, we started discussing our plans for the next day. We were going to leave Edinburgh behind and head to Glencoe and the Isle of Skye. We're super excited about this part of our trip, but we also know it's going to be a lot of walking. So, we decided to take it easy tonight and get some rest before tackling the trails tomorrow. I'm planning on taking a shower and maybe reading a bit, but first things first - we need to wrap up our time in Edinburgh.

We've had an amazing time exploring this city, from visiting the palace to strolling through the gardens. And let's not forget about all the whiskey we've been drinking - it's been a real adventure for our taste buds. I'm pretty proud of us for making it through all that walking and still managing to enjoy ourselves. We're not going to lie, though - there have been some tough moments along the way. But that's just part of the journey, right?

As we settle in for the night, we're thinking about what's next on our agenda. We've got a free trial subscription to a UK entertainment service, which is why we were so stoked to watch an episode of Chernobyl. And let me tell you, it was... something. There was just one hilarious moment when clay tried to use some face moisturizer and ended up with a cleanser on his skin instead of lotion. It was like a scene from a comedy show - I'm still laughing about it.

actually about to leave Clay's unavailable from work via train we're about to go to the airport and get on our flight I wanted to officially intro the video I like I was like glamorous air conditioning wind in my face she always laughs at all my jokes but I know about the head to the airport you get on the plane go to Scotland and obviously we'll do a lot more footage there but I wanted to start the video properly and they go by to Miss Mathilda here's all of our stuff I have to wear hiking boots on the on the airplane because you know they take up a lot of luggage space but yeah we're headed out Scotland here we come at the airport behind we have arrived in Edinburgh and we are in our hotel so I feel like I have all these like disparate clips I feel like I need to narrate what has happened since we left New York City so we left New York City we got on a plane they've got way too much now I've been and then we took and that's where I saw Harry the Harry Potter shop clip inserted here we've arrived in London and we're going to the Harry Potter show naturally and then from there we took a plane to Glasgow which was like not too long like an hour it's raining and then we take a train from Glasgow to Andhra and now we're here and we just ate lunch which I'll also have a clip in we've arrives mission tips bangers and mash but I just like haven't had time to kind of fill you guys in we just checked into our hotel it's really beautiful we're staying at this place called The Scotsman and we have this like hotel room that's honestly probably the biggest hotel room I've ever been in before we're kind of we're we're on like the street level which is more like alleyway level cuz I can embrace all these like close close alleyways so we don't really have any like natural light but that's fine because it's beautiful and and honestly we'll probably sleep like dead people in here but I'll do a quick tour and then we're going to head out back into the city again and do some walkin around here's our door here is the like hotel room there's a mirror right here it me and then you kind of just come in there's like a couch in here this is bigger than our entire New York City apartment claims here trying not to fall asleep but constantly failing there's like a little desk and TV there's all of our crap and then the bathroom is in here again much larger than our New York City apartment so this makes us feel fancy but yeah here's our hotel and what are we about to go do clay yeah so that's the plan for tonight we got to the city around like 2 p.m. and we have lunch so we don't have a full day here so most of our like big activities are planned for the next two days while we're in Edinburgh so today it's really just kind of about like walk in seeing things hanging out maybe going to Victoria Street which is apparently what inspired Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley so we're gonna do that there's also like just so many like clay and I were joking we're walking around and my favorite thing so far is that the city leans into being a Harry Potter inspiration so hard there's all these like catchy Harry Potter based things which I will fall for every time like yeah I want a picture with Dobby the elf yeah I want to touch this owl yeah there's like owls anyway so we're gonna go explore now but I wanted to check in and give you guys an update yeah we got Starbucks because we're facing internationally as well it's more like convenience clay really needed some coffee yeah we're trying to find the diagonal extreme right now we're coming up on the Diagon Alley Street just look how magical this is the colors the vibes everything is so old my hometown literally everything was built in 2001 out of Monument we went to the new side of Edinburgh so there's like modern architecture mix with Old Town architecture well there's kind of a little rainy today we didn't really have anything in the on the itinerary tomorrow we're doing castles and such but this is cool very famous pretty cool view the treetops old Eman bura from the city actually I like picked so worse English movies but you get the idea and it's also this there any cloud out was fair there's literally just old stuff everywhere including clay that's the towering Cloud Atlas oh yes we got pizza clay got the hot American just like him alright we are back from dinner and going to bed yeah it's 9:30 but it feels so much later John I feel like a thousand pounds over my head I'm so tired yeah we're we are going to sleep and I think we're gonna wake up at like maybe not like try to give us as much sleep as possible but still wake up early so we still have all of our day our hotel is serving breakfast until like 11 so I think we're gonna try to wake up at like 9:00 and then head to the castle I had 30 seconds in the video and you'll know better than this I know we're gonna be like we woke up at blank spoiler alert I have no idea I think my cheeks are so rosy - I think I'm just like so tired need to go to bed put them rain sounds on can anyone else we love rain sounds by the way we cannot sleep without our rains house that's a truth alright I'm just rambling for no apparent reason now so goodnight good morning everyone it is just past 9:00 a.m. you wouldn't be able to tell because we live in a cave but we're about to go get breakfast I am changed clays finishing up getting ready we're literally about sleeping like 35 seconds today's plan this morning is to eat and then we're gonna go to to edinburgh castle and take a tour of that and I'm really excited about it I also have realized I haven't told you guys my reading plans at all so I did bring a couple of books for this trip my main one being the missing of the clutter loom because I have not finished it yet feature from my last reading a blog I just didn't read a lot last week well I was preparing to leave but I brought it with me I do think I'll be able to get some reading in every night before bed aside from last night's I was just way too tired but hopeful moving forward that I will be able to do that especially when we get out of the city and into the highlands but I brought this and then I have my eBook of elantris and then my other plan is to actually pick up a book while I'm in Scotland my favorite type of souvenir to buy is a book so that is the plan we're gonna head up to breakfast now they have a buffet at the at the hotel which you know clay and I are big poufy fans how can you say no to an endless assortment of food so we're gonna do that and then I'm wearing my new pink raincoat which I'm pretty jazzed about I'm a little nervous I'm not dressed warm enough so we'll see if I have a change my other coat is fleece-lined which makes it a little warmer but this is just like a shell of a raincoat and then I have a sweater on jeans vans ready to go so yeah I like some beans it's gotten full UK on us we got our toast coffee americano style alas delicious coming up on the castle right along those bends another beautiful day pouring down rain but it's all right we got our raincoats on without an umbrella got to pack one but we bought 100 years there's a view over there but it's a little cloudy yeah this place it's pretty lit I want you think rent is here clay you can get this guy right yeah good one this is so cool though I do have to pay attention because I will fall but it's amazing inside about to see the Scottish crown jewels it's a sword replica inside the Royal Apartments very cool very cool crown drills were also very cool but you can film in there but like how do they keep those so clean or like 600 years old I'm honestly obsessed with these giant fireplaces like you would have to use like I'm a teacher what do it wait he has a face in there oh my god why Lannisters took this over but it stopped raining so we're thriving more stellar views we're on the top of the part we have changed because the Sun came out and we actually crossed the bridge we're back at this place because clay really wants to go up it I don't think they're letting people up it right now but then where we going to play Botanical Garden which I'm super hype about I love me some fleurs but that's so nice now that it's stopped reading I thought it was never gonna stop raining here we are we're gonna try to get tickets go up this thing everything is just so scenic and just bubbling brook you know next to literally like a dumpster it is so beautiful at this botanical garden we're on our way to the classic art right now but I'll say what am i everything to do is wipe clay throw rocks clay that's cool it's like Jurassic world there's birds are there definitely photonics so cool very warm there's a greenhouse kitty it's thriving love's get loves trees loves to eat the birds that probably live in here Sukhoi fish oh my god they're all coming what I don't I feel bad they probably think I have greed but I don't you think they're cute they're terrifying the Texas look at me now got some cactuses clay had those been his backyard growing up cute this is absolutely mind-boggling I had no idea the leave had to be this large like hand for scale but also with my hands close so that's not gonna work they're literally the size they're like a meter wide look at me using the metric system I'm just like in awe of this whole place just surrounded by beautiful it's almost overwhelming botanical garden and now we're just walking slow this Hill I feel like the camera is not doing it justified it was great to walk down but now I gotta go back up which I don't really look forward to after our long day walking we stopped for a baked good couldn't say no and we're back at our hotel we did a quick change because we are going to dinner we are getting a fancy steak dinner tonight isn't that right clay very and then we have a ghost tour right afterwards which we were both so excited about I'm a little nervous because I'm terrified of everything started clay but I don't I I know I can't film while we're there but I did want to let you know and I'll do a review at the end because it has great reviews and it's all very historical which appeals to me on a cool thing because it seems like the whole city has a was built over so it has yeah areas of crypts underneath the whole like old city at least yeah like Edinburgh is like built up on top of each other so like when there's a new bridge being built like buildings are smashed up against it and then built up so then Nicola covers the arches of the bridge and they become vaults and that's what we were in now that was really interesting um so yeah it's our last day in Edinburgh until Saturday we have one more day Anna Roberts at the end of our trip because we leave for the Hyland tomorrow so we have we have a few things planned today one of them is Mary's Kings Cross which is an underground city and then we're doing a scotch experience because that was clays big thing he wanted to drink some scotch in Scotland so we're doing that and then I'm not quite sure we don't have like a lot planned because we gotta like pack and get ready to leave early early tomorrow probably see the Cathedral oh yeah probably see the Cathedral and just like do a couple of like the things around and then obviously we're back on Saturday to do more things but yesterday ended up being a beautiful day like I was not expecting to see the Sun all week and it was amazing went to the Botanical Gardens we saw me see Williams that was really cool highlight of the trip but no I actually think the Botanical Garden or maybe the castle might be my favorite things from Edinburgh I loved the Botanical Gardens it was so pretty they had a maze it was so cool um okay we're gonna go get breakfast now and head out but I did want to give you a rundown of the yesterday of what happened I've yet to read a single page of my book which makes me feel very weird and I definitely want to read later what about you clay yeah I'll read some articles online every book back out on the Royal Mile feeling like we're in Hogwarts again this place is very cool very medieval very very very we're kind of day three it was an airline we've arrived but what can we not do imagination is the key downstairs so we just met left the various kings closed we're very tired it's really cool yeah it's really interesting to see I guess 400 year old structures and kind of get more history about the city in like why everything is so like narrow yeah that or guy was really good he was very good and it was a quick tour so we liked it so now we're gonna get coffee and then go find Tom Riddle's great cuz a bowl of the morning we have acquired coffee and now we're on a hunt to find Tom Riddle's grave the story goes you didn't know this clay that well JK Rowling was writing she would walk through here to get a lot of name inspiration off of the gravestones there's a lot of side characters that she's pulled off of these graves including Tom Riddle so that's a story this place is so cool I feel like I'm in a like a scary stories book or like a Victorian set fantasy novel or like I'm gonna accidentally resurrect the dead with my necromancy powers surprisingly I'm a necromancer we found it yeah he was a he was a lawyer so he was evil hahaha oh sorry here a lawyer oh is Captain his son was a captain and his daughter oh and also his other daughter well we found it it should've been pretty obvious cuz it's surrounded by like barricades cuz I imagine there's just hoards of people coming through to see to see this guy just like us so we found it clay we did it yeah everything is so green here by the way like things just grow all the time mm-hm I'm not used to it when it first got here we are with our extra whiskey nice view though I am think I'm just gonna taste each one call it a day I don't really think it's for me I don't even click makes it's working I'm just tired and it's a little intense for 2 p.m. whiskey violating pretty much all of our whiskey and wouldn't get a single malt on a regular coat we're taught was aged one week don't want to get any farther a very magical very Harry Potter came to the other side of the Royal Mile and to see this palace but just pretty cool ain't gonna lie to you big fan so we're gonna try to figure out how to get on the other side of this fancy gate so please hold audio touring got inside there's Arthur seat so cool taking a stroll through the Queen's gardens it's really cool because like Arthur's Seat this big mountains like in the background all these like beautiful flowers Palace wild stuff we're getting Indian tapas right now we're back in our hotel room because we are pooped dinner was delicious but how many miles have we walked in the past walked like probably 30 or so maybe it's a lot of walk we walked we want like over 1213 yeah just yesterday yeah but we've seen a lot of really amazing things so it's been well worth it we do have to wake up a bit early tomorrow cuz we're driving we're starting our we're leaving Edinburgh and we're going to Glencoe and then Isle of Skye which we're super excited about which obviously we're doing more walking because we're like hiking and stuff so we figure probably a good idea to take it easy tonight so it's like 6:30 I think I'm gonna hop in the shower and then we might watch like an HBO show I night and then Saturday we have all day back in Edinburgh so we're gonna do Arthur's Seat I really wanted out of the village of Dean and then anything else but yeah I say like honestly I'm pretty proud of ourselves I feel like we've been like fighting off the jetlag memory with it being the beginning of our trip I know honestly I feel like most of my see penis has nothing to do with jet lag it is more just physically like walking so much just physically tiring mm-hmm but yeah I am going to read tonight first reading update of the trip and I'm gonna be reading the missing of Claire de Lune which thank you to everyone who commented on my most recent uh reading vlog because everyone told me how to pronounce this and what it means so thank you so I'm gonna read that tonight and then we might start a new show like Chernobyl or something mm-hmm or something maybe just friends who knows but I'm gonna go take a shower right now first and foremost and get changed in pajamas we were so committed to watching the show and HBO isn't available in the UK so we signed up for a free trial to a UK entertainment service didn't weekly you did because we really wanted to watch this show so sure we don't have like a lot planned because we gotta like pack and get ready to leave early early tomorrow probably see the Cathedral oh yeah probably see the Cathedral and just like do a couple of like the things around and then obviously we're back on Saturday to do more things but yesterday ended up being a beautiful day like I was not expecting to see the Sun all week and it was amazing went to the Botanical Gardens we saw me see Williams that was really cool highlight of the trip but no I actually think the Botanical Garden or maybe the castle might be my favorite things from Edinburgh I loved the Botanical Gardens it was so pretty they had a maze it was so cool um okay we're gonna go get breakfast now and head out but I did want to give you a rundown of the yesterday of what happened I've yet to read a single page of my book which makes me feel very weird and I definitely want to read later what about you clay yeah I'll read some articles online every book back out on the Royal Mile feeling like we're in Hogwarts again this place is very cool very medieval very very very we're kind of day three it was an airline we've arrived but what can we not do imagination is the key downstairs so we just met left the various kings closed we're very tired it's really cool yeah it's really interesting to see I guess 400 year old structures and kind of get more history about the city in like why everything is so like narrow yeah that or guy was really good he was very good and it was a quick tour so we liked it so now we're gonna get coffee and then go find Tom Riddle's great cuz a bowl of the morning we have acquired coffee and now we're on a hunt to find Tom Riddle's grave the story goes you didn't know this clay that well JK Rowling was writing she would walk through here to get a lot of name inspiration off of the gravestones there's a lot of side characters that she's pulled off of these graves including Tom Riddle so that's a story this place is so cool I feel like I'm in a like a scary stories book or like a Victorian set fantasy novel or like I'm gonna accidentally resurrect the dead with my necromancy powers surprisingly I'm a necromancer we found it yeah he was a he was a lawyer so he was evil hahaha oh sorry here a lawyer oh is Captain his son was a captain and his daughter oh and also his other daughter well we found it it should've been pretty obvious cuz it's surrounded by like barricades cuz I imagine there's just hoards of people coming through to see to see this guy just like us so we found it clay we did it yeah everything is so green here by the way like things just grow all the time mm-hm I'm not used to it when it first got here we are with our extra whiskey nice view though I am think I'm just gonna taste each one call it a day I don't really think it's for me I don't even click makes it's working I'm just tired and it's a little intense for 2 p.m. whiskey violating pretty much all of our whiskey and wouldn't get a single malt on a regular coat we're taught was aged one week don't want to get any farther a very magical very Harry Potter came to the other side of the Royal Mile and to see this palace but just pretty cool ain't gonna lie to you big fan so we're gonna try to figure out how to get on the other side of this fancy gate so please hold audio touring got inside there's Arthur seat so cool taking a stroll through the Queen's gardens it's really cool because like Arthur's Seat this big mountains like in the background all these like beautiful flowers Palace wild stuff we're getting Indian tapas right now we're back in our hotel room because we are pooped dinner was delicious but how many miles have we walked in the past walked like probably 30 or so maybe it's a lot of walk we walked we want like over 1213 yeah just yesterday yeah but we've seen a lot of really amazing things so it's been well worth it we do have to wake up a bit early tomorrow cuz we're driving we're starting our we're leaving Edinburgh and we're going to Glencoe and then Isle of Skye which we're super excited about which obviously we're doing more walking because we're like hiking and stuff so we figure probably a good idea to take it easy tonight so it's like 6:30 I think I'm gonna hop in the shower and then we might watch like an HBO show I might read a bit but we're gonna try to get to bed before 9:00 in addition we wrap up our trip again in Edinburgh so anything we yeah we members go around we we have Saturday yeah cos Saturday Friday night and then Saturday we have all day back in Edinburgh so we're gonna do Arthur's Seat I really wanted out of the village of Dean and then anything else but yeah I say like honestly I'm pretty proud of ourselves I feel like we've been like fighting off the jetlag memory with it being the beginning of our trip I know honestly I feel like most of my see penis has nothing to do with jet lag it is more just physically like walking so much just physically tiring mm-hmm but yeah I am going to read tonight first reading update of the trip and I'm gonna be reading the missing of Claire de Lune which thank you to everyone who commented on my most recent uh reading vlog because everyone told me how to pronounce this and what it means so thank you so I'm gonna read that tonight and then we might start a new show like Chernobyl or something mm-hmm or something maybe just friends who knows but I'm gonna go take a shower right now first and foremost and get changed in pajamas we were so committed to watching the show and HBO isn't available in the UK so we signed up for a free trial to a UK entertainment service didn't weekly you did because we really wanted to watch this show so here we are do we're doing it it's happening I am crying because I'm laughing so hard one it's past 11:00 because we stayed up and have been watching Chernobyl because we're addicted but something hilarious just happened I have to tell you about it so good clay bought some like face stuff Eddie's in the bathroom he's putting a nod he's like bacon this moisturizers burning my skin and I'm like what's going on like show me the package let me read it it's a cleanser Oh which is like soap and he was talking it was lotion and trying to wash it off you just start screaming it's just so and then he ran it to the shower to get all the mistakes oh man it was cleanser all along it's not lotion we all have to learn sometime hi friend so that is the end of the first part of this travel vlog it was way too long so I had to break it up into parts where it kind
