entirely new range of televisions for 2019 and there's some pretty exciting stuff in store so they actually have this laid out extremely easily for me I'm going to start at the beginning and work our way up so what you see here is the new V Series now this is the entry level for 4k HDR TV for vizio this year this is where their biggest value proposition is they still make the D Series it's a 1080p TV so this is where 4k HDR starts in ver physio you don't get quantum dots but you do get local dimming which is impressive for such a budget-friendly TV size ranges from 40 inches all the way up to 75 if you're looking for a super value oriented TV this is it next up is the M series and I'm gonna call this the bang for your buck series because a lot of the technology that Vizio is put in its higher-end TVs trickles down into the M series here we get up to 90 zones of local dimming which is really impressive for any TV let alone one that's going to be sitting at this price point and it also tops out at about 600 bits of peach brightness again which is super impressive for what's going to be a pretty moderately priced TV we also get quantum dots so it's got expanded color again this is a bang for your buck proposition okay so the third tier in videos lineup is called the P series quantum that's a little bit of a shift in nomenclature from last year the P series has now become P series quantum and I think they just trying to emphasize the fact that it uses quantum dot to enhance the color now this is a truly high performance TV it's not the flagship but it kind of reads like one it Peaks out at about 1000 nits with 240 zones in the 75 inch model and about 200 zones in the 65 inch model you're noticing a little bit of a change to the design here as well where we get a little bit of an aluminum bezel strip down towards the bottom it's a very handsome looking TV very thin profile and I think this is going to be quite the looker when it comes out in 2019 so now we land on the flagship model that the physios p-series quantum X behind me you see a 65 and 75 inch model there is an 85 inch or back there Vizio hasn't committed to making that but there's a good possibility we could see that this is a truly ultra-high performance television with up to 480 zones of local dimming and 2,900 nits of peak brightness so if you're into those tech specs that's impressive for any TV definitely a premium offering from Vizio and it's clear that Vizio is going after some of the biggest names in TV out there going head-to-head with them and producing a truly remarkable television now there's one thing I haven't mentioned that all of these TVs are going to offer and this is kind of a big deal as well it's a trend that we're seeing at CES and that is the addition of airplay to so it's now going to be possible to mirror your iPhone iPad or Mac to the TV you can also stream from iTunes movies or constraint I engines music to these televisions and because it's homekit enabled it gets wrapped up in Apple's entire ecosystem so it can be part of a scene you can use it as a multi room speaker option the sky's the limit of course it also has Alexa and Google assistant compatibility as well so it doesn't really matter which of those smart voice assistants you subscribe to the TV is going to be compatible with it and let's not forget too that it supports all the major formats of HDR HDR 10 Dolby vision and private log data so we're talking about a very comprehensive offering this is a big step in my opinion for vizio something that hits back at some of the biggest TV manufacturers out there and what I've seen so far looks really really goodeverybody Caleb Dennison for Digital Trends this is a big year for TV at CES 2019 one of the ways we
