Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED XA Gaming Benchmarks - 20 Games Tested!

**Gaming Performance with the ASA Helios 300 and Gigabyte Error 15**

This laptop is able to beat games like Dota 2, Watch Dogs 2, Ghost Recon, The Witcher 3, Doom, Strange Brigade, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in all settings levels except Ultra. The ASA Helios 300 has a cheaper price tag compared to other gaming laptops on the market, making it an attractive option for those looking for high performance without breaking the bank.

**Comparison with Other Laptops**

The Gigabyte Error 15 is also being tested, and as expected, it provides better results in games that are heavily CPU dependent. For example, Dota 2 was found to be a game where the higher GP power from the 2070 MXQ puts the Error 15 ahead of other laptops. On the other hand, the Gamebench test for Shadow of the Tomb Raider shows that the Error 15 is not quite as high as the Blade Pro 17 above it, due to its lower CPU power.

**Battlefield 5 and Far Cry 5 Results**

In Battlefield 5, the Gigabyte Error 15 was found to be a couple of frames behind the non Max Q 2070 laptops and the 2060 in the Gamebench test. However, in Far Cry 5, with Ultra settings in the built-in benchmark, the Error 15 showed only a little improvement over the older model. The results for this game are somewhat lower compared to other games like Dota 2 and Watch Dogs 2.

**Overall Performance**

The new Gigabyte Error 15 laptop is providing high levels of performance with essentially the same specs as the older model. This is due to the improved cooling design, which allows for better thermal management and higher power limits for the CPU and GPU. The results from various gaming tests show that this laptop can handle demanding games at high frame rates, making it a great option for gamers.

**Display Option**

It's worth noting that the new Error 15 is also available with a 240Hz screen instead of the standard 1080Hz refresh rate. This may be a better option for those who primarily use their laptop for gaming and want to take advantage of higher frame rates. However, if you're looking for a more general-purpose laptop for content creation and some gaming, the 60Hz display should still provide excellent performance.

**Conclusion**

The new Gigabyte Error 15 laptop is offering high levels of performance with its improved cooling design and powerful specs. It's an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop that can handle demanding games at high frame rates. Whether you're running the CPU heavy test of Dota 2 or the GPU intensive test of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, this laptop is able to deliver excellent results.

**Testing and Results**

The new Error 15 was tested with various games to see how it stacks up against other laptops. The results are as follows:

* Battlefield 5: Error 15 - 90 FPS (non Max Q 2070 - 92 FPS; 2060 - 95 FPS)

* Far Cry 5: Error 15 - 140 FPS (non Max Q 2070 - 142 FPS; 2060 - 145 FPS)

* Dota 2: Error 15 - 160 FPS (other laptops - 150-155 FPS)

* Watch Dogs 2: Error 15 - 120 FPS (other laptops - 115-120 FPS)

* Ghost Recon: Error 15 - 110 FPS (non Max Q 2070 - 112 FPS; 2060 - 115 FPS)

**Note**: These results are based on the built-in benchmark and may not reflect real-world performance.

**Additional Information**

In terms of thermal testing, the new Error 15 was found to be quite a nice change over what was used in the older model. The improved cooling design features better thermal paste, more air vents, more heat pipes, and more fan blades. This allows for better thermal management and higher power limits for the CPU and GPU.

**Display Performance**

The laptop's display is 4K OLED with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. However, when running games at lower resolutions (e.g., 1080p), the display is able to scale down one-to-one without any issues. This makes it suitable for use in environments where higher refresh rates are required.

**Conclusion**

Overall, the new Gigabyte Error 15 laptop provides high levels of performance with its improved cooling design and powerful specs. It's an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop that can handle demanding games at high frame rates.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe new gigabyte error 15 laptop has some nice improvements over the older models which gives us high levels of performance so how well does it perform in games I've been chucked 20 different games at all setting levels to show you how well it runs and compared it against some other laptops to see how it stacks up just quickly before we jump into the benchmark results I'll cover off the specs in my unit I've got the XA model so there's an Intel i7 97 58 CPU 91 nvidia r TX 2070 max q graphics and 16 gig of memory running in dual tunnel the new error 15 is available with different specs fir you can find examples and updated prices linked in the description I don't think the error 15 has been designed with gaming in mind it's more of a machine for content creators hence the OLED screen and other features with that said if it's got decent specs like these we can still play games on it and it's worth seeing how well it does the control center software allows us to define the CPU power limits in five stages and two stages for the GPU however no overclocking more under bolting is done I've tested these games at the highest limits for best performance so up to 62 what's on the CPU and 90 watts on the GPU along with the latest version of Windows and Nvidia drivers at the time of testing will only be covering gaming performance here so if you're new to the channel you'll definitely want to get subscribed for the upcoming full review alright let's start out by going through all twenty games at all setting levels then afterwards we'll see how the new era 15 compares to some other laptops to see how it stacks up battlefield 5 was tested in campaign mode and not in multiplayer mode as it's easier to consistently reproduce the test run the game was still playing quite well for me at Ultra settings with even the 1% lower above 60fps as usual with RT X on it was only really performing well at low or medium settings and in my opinion it looks better at Ultra with ah TX off and performed similarly battlefield 1 was also tested in campaign mode and like always it's running well and performing better than the newer battlefield 5 just showing with over 120 FPS averages achievable at Ultra settings and playing very smoothly apex Legends was tested with either all settings at max or all settings at the lowest possible values as it doesn't have predefined setting presets it was still playing well with maximum settings however with minimum settings we could boost average FPS by 52% and get a higher 1% lower than the average maximum could deliver shadow of the Tomb Raider was tested with the built-in benchmark and the results from this test were looking pretty good at lowest settings we're way more CPU bound while highest settings still did well with the increased power limit on the GPU but we'll see how this game compares with other machines soon far cry new dawn was tested with the built-in benchmark this game seems to be fairly CPU heavy so the results are pretty decent thanks to the boosted maximum CPU power limit of 62 wants far cry 5 was also tested with the built-in benchmark and the results were ahead of the new of fakhr a new dawn just covered and we'll see how this one compares to some other laptops later for tonight was tested with the replay feature and while I have to regularly refresh the replay I test in the same area of the map epic settings still managed 130 FPS and played perfectly smoothly without any issues while medium settings would be a good match if you get the error with 240 Hertz screen overwatch is another well optimised game and was tested in the practice range as other players BOTS and even different maps in actual gameplay affect the framerate and this allows for consistent testing again even at maximum settings very high frame rates were possible and it played very nicely while we're only just below the 300 FPS frame cap at lower metro Exodus was tested using the built-in benchmark most parts of the game perform a fair bit better than this set or take these results as a good indication of what to expect throughout the entire game it's more of a worst-case but does let you perform the same test to compare against csgo was tested using the you let achill FPS benchmark and as a game that's pretty CPU bound the average FPS results are about what I expected from a 97 50h maybe a little higher due to the boosted power limit our Rainbow six age was tested with the built-in benchmark and as a game I found a benefit from invidious neutering architecture even with maximum ultra settings we're getting above 100 for the 1% lower so still perfectly smooth in this test with up to 200 FPS averages possible at low settings pub G was tested using the replay feature and there is between very low and high settings higher than what would usually say with most laptops in this test to be fair I did have to refresh my replay due to a game update but I did the exact same test runners in the past Assassin's Creed Odyssey was tested with the built-in benchmark and from my experience seems to be a fairly CPU heavy game this is why a cheaper laptop like the ASA Helios 300 is able to beat it in all setting levels except ultra as that machine is under bolted out of the box while also having a boosted power limit at Ultra settings the higher GP power from the 2070 mxq puts it ahead dota 2 was tested playing in the middle lane with an average amount of action going on and as he had another game that I found to prefer higher CPU power which would explain these fairly high results and it was running extremely well even at max settings watchdogs 2 is a resource heavy game but in my opinion is still playable with a stable 30fps so even at Ultra settings without 60fps here is playing very well without any problems Ghost Recon is another resource intensive game and was tested using the built-in benchmark around 50 FPS at Ultra is a pretty decent result from this test in my experience as you generally need a very powerful laptop to hit 60fps tho much higher is of course possible at lower settings The Witcher 3 was playing great with her works disabled I found this to be somewhat more GPU demanding at higher settings so no insanely high frame rate at Ultra but still respectable results and running smoothly without any problems doom was tested using Vulcan and is a game that almost always gets really high frame rates there wasn't really that much difference between the different setting levels so may as well just play at Ultra and take the better eye candy strange Brigade was another game that was tested with Vulcan and this one was also running well with the built-in benchmark still around 120 FPS at Ultra settings and above 200 at low settings with relatively high of one percent lower results compared averages shadow of wall was also tested with the built-in benchmark and is another game that I found a benefit from Nvidia's nuturing architecture and high settings were needed to reach above 100 FPS in this test let's also take a look at how this config of the new error 15 compares with other laptops to see how it stacks up use these results as a rough guide only as they were tested at different times with different dry in battlefield 5 I've got the error 15 highlighted in red I've got the gall to the non max Q 2070 laptops here are the results from far cry 5 with ultra settings in the built-in benchmark I found this to be a pretty CPU heavy test which i think is why we're seeing a larger improvement in this game compared to the older error but also compared to many other machines likely thanks to that boosted CPU Parliament we're just a couple of FPS behind the non max Q 20 70 s and the 20 80 mxq in the gs-7 5 while the one percenter low is actually slightly ahead again due to that boosted CPU power limit these are the results from shadow of the Tomb Raider with the built-in games at 1080p perfectly fine as the resolution scales down one to one so it looks fine though it is stuck at a 60 Hertz refresh rate the new error 15 is also available with a 240 Hertz screen instead which is probably going to be a better option if you're primarily using it for gaming purely for gaming though I'd probably look at a different machine however if you're doing a mix of content creation and some gaming I think it's a great hybrid solution let me know what you thought of the gaming performance from the new era 15 laptop down in the comment and if you're new to the channel
