Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Is Pricey and Impressive - Hands On first impressions

A Step in the Right Direction: Samsung's New S21 Series and Its Focus on User Experience

Samsung's latest S21 series has finally arrived, and it comes with a fresh new look that's sure to please fans of the brand. For those who have enjoyed using Samsung's user interface in the past, this is a step towards the right direction. The company seems to be prioritizing the user experience over specifications, much like Apple does. This approach is evident in the way Samsung has designed the device, with an emphasis on usability and ease of use.

One of the most noticeable changes is the lack of specifications on Samsung's website for the US market. Yes, you read that right - no specs are listed! However, for markets like India, the Exynos 2100 chipset is used instead, which may seem like a downgrade at first glance. But rest assured, this chip is quite well matched with the Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance and features. Both chips are built on the 5nm process and have an octa-core CPU, with the Exynos 2100 clocked slightly higher than the Snapdragon 888.

The GPU performance is also comparable between the two chips, ensuring seamless gaming and graphics performance. Additionally, both chips support sub-6 GHz as well as millimeter wave 5G frequencies, making them suitable for a wide range of markets in India and beyond. The battery life is impressive, with a 5000mAh capacity and fast charging capabilities up to 25W.

Camera Performance: A Quad Camera Setup with Laser Autofocus

The camera setup on the S21 Ultra is undoubtedly one of its strongest features. The rear camera features a quad-camera setup, including a 108-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, as well as two telephoto lenses (one at 3x zoom and one at 10x zoom) and a wide-angle lens (12 megapixels). The camera can shoot 8K video at 24 frames per second or 4K at 60 frames per second in HDR 10+ mode. The front-facing camera is a 40-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, also capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second.

While the S21 Ultra does lack the headphone jack and microSD card expansion that were present in previous Samsung devices, it has made up for it by removing the charger from the box and instead opting for wireless charging as the primary method of charging. This move may seem counterintuitive, but it's a step towards creating a more seamless user experience.

Build Quality, Display, and Performance: A Seamless Experience

The S21 Ultra is an absolute masterpiece when it comes to build quality and design. The device boasts an amazing display with high refresh rates, making for a smooth and responsive user interface. The phone also shows off Samsung's capabilities in terms of performance, thanks to its impressive chipset.

Initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive, with the device performing well in real-world tests. However, it does generate a bit of heat around the camera area when pushed quite hard. We'll need to investigate this further to determine if it's something users should be concerned about.

The S21 Ultra is undoubtedly one of the best-performing devices on the market right now, and its seamless user experience makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a premium Android device. With its quad-camera setup, fast charging capabilities, and stunning display, this phone has it all. Whether you're a power user or just someone who wants a hassle-free mobile experience, the S21 Ultra is definitely worth considering.

In Conclusion

Samsung's new S21 series marks a significant shift towards prioritizing user experience over specifications. While some may be disappointed by the lack of traditional specs on the device, the Exynos 2100 chipset and other features more than make up for it. The camera performance is excellent, the build quality is outstanding, and the display is a work of art.

Whether you're an Android fan or just looking for a premium mobile experience, the S21 Ultra is definitely worth checking out. With its seamless user interface, impressive performance, and stunning features, this phone is sure to please even the most discerning users. So, what are you waiting for? "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the samsung galaxy s21 ultra this is samsung's flagship for 2021 and this is the company showing off all its capabilities packed into one device we've been testing the s21 ultra for a couple of days and here are our first impressions with the device as the name suggests the galaxy s21 ultra also packs quite a lot of punch with a better screen more cameras bigger battery but we'll get through all of those in this video let's start off with the price the price of the phone is one lakh five thousand rupees for the 12 gigabyte variant but you can also get the 16 gigabyte variant which costs one lakh 16 000 rupees at the time of pre-ordering but you can save that 16 000 rupees and bring the price down to about 1 lakh by using some of the offers that are available if you're interested you can go check out the link in the description below and apply those offers to save up to 16 000 rupees on the pre-order now while the s21 ultra packs quite a lot the unboxing experience has become familiar now and if you checked out the unboxing or if you owned a 12 series iphone you'll find out that this is almost identical as far as the unboxing experience is concerned of course there is no charger inside the box because that is going to become the norm in the future and all those mocking advertisements aside this is a positive step towards reducing e-waste and i'm all for it the design of the phone has matured quite a lot from the s20 ultra that we saw last year in fact the design builds more on the note 20 that we saw last year and this looks like a better finished product and the camera bump also fits in better as it is now part of the frame instead of something that stands out the camera bump is massive because it has a whole lot of cameras but they don't look unsightly as we've seen some of those designs in the past this new color the phantom black is absolutely amazing to look at it's a matte finish it almost feels leather-like on the back and the glass pattern that they've managed to create with this looks and feels extremely premium the phone in itself feels like a premium device when you hold it in your hand with the curved edges and a nice finished back panel you almost don't want to put it in a case and that is how most people are going to end up using this device and despite its looks the phone is built quite well you get gorilla glass victus for the glass protection and the phone also has ip68 dust and water resistance for up to 1.5 meter for 30 minutes in the water the display on the galaxy s21 ultra is a gorgeous 6.8 inch dynamic amoled display which has a wqhd plus 3200 by 1440 pixel resolution giving it a whopping 515 pixels per inch this also does support 120 hertz this time around so you can run it at maximum resolution with a 120 hertz refresh rate even though you have to run it through samsung's adaptive refresh rate mode but the fact that this device can run that is a massive upgrade over last year's devices galaxy s21 ultra also has a peak brightness of 1500 nits so if you're enjoying high dynamic range content this will be perfect for that this year around samsung's also added stylus support to the s21 ultra and the stylus is not included but you can buy it separately and you can also buy a combo pack which includes a case which will hold your stylus the galaxy s21 ultra also shows off samsung's new user interface on android 11. the one ui 3.1 is much more refined seems much more fluid and just feels like it's a part of the device a few things that samsung still hasn't changed is the amount of pre-loaded applications and a few of them double up to confuse the user on which app they should use as their default the skin in itself looks very clean and you do have a ton of customization options if you're somebody who's enjoyed using samsung's user interface you will find this as a step towards the right direction in improving and cleaning up the user interface with the launch of the new s21 series another thing seems to be apparent is that samsung is trying to shy away from the specifications it was known to push this time around it seems to be more towards the user experience almost something like what apple would do and if you go to samsung's website it is very difficult to find specifications off the device in fact they do not list the processor this time around for the us you still get the snapdragon 888 chipset but for markets like india you get the exynos 2100 but all is not lost this time around as the exynos 2100 is quite well matched with the snapdragon 888 both are built on the five nanometer process and the octa core exynos 2100 is clocked slightly higher on the cpu than the qualcomm snapdragon 888 both chips have a quite well matched gpu and as far as 5g is concerned both these chips do support sub 6 as well as millimeter wave 5g so that means that mostly all bands that will be supported in a market like india in the future will work on the samsung galaxy s21 ultra now as rs performance is concerned at the beginning of the year this is one of the highest performing phones that you'll be able to buy throughout the year and if you look at synthetic benchmarks or those sort of verify that but our real world testing will determine what the actual result for this device is initial impressions seemed really good we do find a little bit of heat generating on the device around the camera area when we really push this phone quite a lot but we'll investigate that a little bit more in our full review and tell you whether or not that is something that you need to be worried about as far as the cameras are concerned on the back there is a quad camera setup there is that 108 megapixel camera with an f of 1.8 aperture you do get that crazy zoom but this time around you do get laser autofocus to deal with some of those auto focusing issues you're not going to be using this as much as in the auto mode where you're not shooting at 108 megapixels but the fact that you do have that option is good on a device like this the phone also has two telephoto lenses one at a 3x zoom and one at a 10x zoom but the 10x zoom has an f 4.9 aperture which means that low light shots from it will not look great and you'll need to use the 10x in mostly daylight you also have an ultra wide camera which is a 12 megapixel camera and then the camera can shoot 8k video at 24 frames per second or 4k at 60 frames per second in hdr 10 plus the front facing camera is a 40 megapixel sensor with an f 2.2 aperture and can shoot 4k video at 60 frames per second as well the phone does have a 5000mah battery and does support 25 watt charging and power delivery 3.0 you can wirelessly charge the phone at up to 15 watts and it will reverse wirelessly charge any device at 4.5 watts so you can charge up things like earphones or emergency charge up another phone which does support wireless charging more importantly there is no charger inside the box or if you have any of the 25 watt chargers from last year lying around they will work just fine with this device you can also buy third-party chargers that support up to 25 watts of charging or samsung will happily sell you their charger on their website while the s21 ultra shows off more of what samsung is capable of and shows off their amazing build quality and design capabilities and also shows off some of their gorgeous displays and the high refresh rates it also shows off what their chips are capable of but more importantly it shows how samsung is trying to become more like apple where the user experience starts to matter a little bit more they've removed the headphone jack they've removed the micro sd card expandability and this year round they've also removed the charger and any mention of what chip they use inside their phone despite all of that the experience and the usage is very much like samsung and it continues to hold on to the essence of a samsung device we'll have to see what the performance and the capability is like in our full review and if you guys have any questions or queries do drop them in the comment section below
