June Book Haul!!

**June Book Haul: A Month of Exciting Releases**

It's time to talk about one of my favorite things - books! As we dive into June, I couldn't help but get excited about the new releases that are hitting the shelves. This month, I picked up a few amazing books that have me eager to dive in and explore their worlds.

**First Up: A Highly Anticipated Release**

I've been waiting for this book to come out for what feels like forever - **Reaper at the Gates** by Sarah J. Maas. I've already read this book, but I just can't get enough of it! This is the third installment in the Ember Quartet series, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The world-building is as intricate as ever, with complex characters and multiple perspectives that will keep you on the edge of your seat. From empires to wars, politics to backstabbing - this book has it all.

**A Reality TV Thriller**

Next up is **The Book of Essie** by Meghann Loewen. This one called out to me because of its unique premise - a reality TV show that's like 19 Kids and Counting meets The Great British Baking Show. I love how the author has woven in themes of fame, family, and identity, all set against the backdrop of a whirlwind media storm. I'm intrigued by Essie's journey from being the youngest daughter to becoming the center of attention.

**An Archaeological Thriller**

I've always been fascinated by archaeology, so when I saw **The Anomaly** by Michael Rutger on the Book of the Month list, I knew it was a must-read for me. The story follows Nolan, an archaeologist who's on a quest to uncover secrets in the Grand Canyon. But when things start to go wrong, he finds himself entangled in a web of suspense and conspiracy. This one sounds like a dark thriller with a historical twist that I'm eager to dive into.

**A Dark Parisian Fantasy**

Last but not least, I picked up **The Girl in the Tower** by Katherine Arden. As you may know, this is the sequel to **The Bear and the Nightingale**, which I adored last month. This book promises more of the same - a fantastical historical fantasy set in 15th-century Russia. Vasya returns as she navigates the world of folklore and magic, all while facing new challenges and dangers. I'm excited to see where this journey takes her.

**A Signed First Edition**

To top it all off, I managed to snag a signed first edition of **The Girl in the Tower**. This book is already on my radar for its unique premise, but getting to hold a signed copy makes it even more special. I couldn't resist the urge to buy it as soon as it was released.

**That's My June Book Haul**

And that's it for my June book haul! I'm excited to dive into these new releases and explore their worlds. Whether you're a fan of fantasy, thriller, or reality TV books, there's something on this list for everyone. Let me know what books you've picked up in June - I'd love to hear about them!

the gates by savage here i've also already read this book i have a lot of feelings about this book i will talk about that more in my wrap up but this is the third book to the ember quartet and it is just as incredible as the first two books so much happens uh it's amazing if you're not familiar this is an amazing multi-perspective uh fantasy series that kind of has a roman inspired setting empires and wars and politics and backstabbing and all of those things exist in this novel the characters are so complex there's so much dynamic intrigue that goes on within this series i don't know character motivations and i always i'm just like reading through it to just understand why people are doing the things they're doing sabata here has yet to disappoint me ever the third book was incredible the next few books i picked up from book of the month this month the first one i chose was the book of essie by megan mclean weird this book really called out to me because it has a reality tv setting this is basically kind of a take on 19 kids and counting we follow essie who is the youngest daughter to a very famous religious reality tv family and the wor and her world gets kind of turned upside down and so does her family when essie gets pregnant and from there the they're basically trying to decide what to do should they try to arrange a marriage really quickly and it basically throws essie into the spotlight that she wasn't anticipating and she kind of becomes the center to this pr and media whirlwind and this book just sounds very very interesting um and that's why i chose it for this month and then the next book i picked up was the anomaly by michael rutger this book follows our main character nolan who's like an x-files character meets indiana jones he is an archaeologist who basically spends his time trying to crack secrets basically dismissed by experts and loved by conspiracy theorists which just sounds like my favorite kind of book so when nolan basically tries to retrace the steps of a 1909 expedition in the grand canyon to discover like a secret cavern he does it but things begin to unravel quickly and a lot of things begin to go wrong this sounds like a very suspenseful dark thriller with an archaeological and historical twist which honestly just sounds like a book made for me i wanted to be archaeologists for a time in my life i realized i didn't like the outside very much so instead i will leave myself to read about archaeological adventures so i'm pumped to have this and the last book i picked up is the girl in the tower by katherine arden i picked this book up in austin and it's very excitingly wait for it wait for it wait for it sign and this is the sequel to the bear in the nightingale which i read last month and really really enjoyed the bear in the night gale is a fantastical historical fantasy set in like the 15th century of russia and the wilderness we follow our main character vasya who's very in tuned with the natural folklore of the land in fact this folklore is not just living with the people but is in fact real and vassy is able to basically harness this magic to try to save her family from a dark power the second book follows vasya as she continues her adventures and continues to discover more about herself and her magic the first one i felt like was one it was incredible but it was like just the beginning and i feel like we're gonna see so much more with vasya as she basically traverses across the russian landscape and becomes more powerful and i'm here for it in every sense of the word so i saw this one signed to just beautiful new release and hardback i immediately bought it i could not say no alrighty guys that is my june book haul let me know down below some books you've
