Nokia Lumia 925 Review UK

The Nokia Lumia 925: A Review

I have done a camera comparison of this with the Samsung Galaxy S4 so do check it out a link will be in the description below as well as on the annotations here but to summarize the front-facing camera wasn't too good I wasn't too impressed with it washed out the colors on the detail wasn't too great on there the rear facing camera on the other hand 8.7 megapixels with Call's ice glass and it was very good very impr impressed lots of detail and it worked especially well in low light so I was very impressed with its low light performance one of the best out there.

The device has a lithium ion 2,000 milliamp battery which is not removable and I got a day worth of usage out of it no problems whatsoever again I think it comes down to the windows interface which isn't too power hungry and because it is a 720p screen it's not going to be requiring that much power and there are a lot of blacks in the windows user interface which means they are not lit up so they don't take up that much battery. Now looking at Windows 8 very smooth and user friendly I do really really like the user interface very unique and if you are coming from Android or iOS the live Tils are quite fresh to see and quite nice to use.

Now because this is a Windows Phone you do have a pre-installed Microsoft Windows software and services such as Sky Drive Outlook and Microsoft Office applications as well which is great to see if you are also a Windows desktop user. Moving on to the biggest negative of this device and you've probably heard it a lot before but it is the the lack of apps. Now this is a big big problem especially coming from Android a lot of the apps which I'm used to using on a daily basis such as pulse Facebook Messenger Instagram were simply not available on the App Store and I found myself having to look for third party Alternatives even the official YouTube app which was from Microsoft was very buggy and I couldn't actually play any videos on there whatsoever I kept getting errors something happened we're not sure what I mean seriously they're not sure what's wrong so how am I supposed to know what's wrong it's just very very annoying and I had to again find a third party app which was YouTube HD which did seem to work okay.

The instance app was an alternative to the Instagram app and a lot of these apps were limited to a certain extent and don't give you the actual experience that you get from the original so for example on the instance app there is no insta video and even official apps such as Facebook I couldn't tag people in posts using the at symbol which again I found quite limiting. So overall I do think it's a great device overall and if you are a Windows user or somebody new to smartphones it's going to be absolutely perfect however if you're an existing iOS or Android User I do think you will struggle because of that major lack of apps.

Now I really think that Nokia and windows need to push on getting at least some of the most popular apps whether it means pumping in a lot of money or partnering with some of the major app developers out there I'm not sure what but they definitely need to do something. If if the app market did improve significantly I think this would be a real player on the market.

The Nokia Lumia 925 is an impressive device, even though it's missing the apps that Android and iOS users are used to. The camera is very good, especially in low light conditions, which is one of its standout features. However, the lack of popular apps makes it difficult for people who are already invested in other operating systems.

One thing that does make the phone user-friendly is its Windows 8 interface, which is smooth and easy to navigate. The pre-installed Microsoft software and services also provide a great starting point for those who are already familiar with Windows. However, this doesn't seem to help when it comes to getting popular apps on the device.

The battery life of the Nokia Lumia 925 is impressive, lasting a full day without needing to be recharged. This is likely due to its efficient power consumption and lack of demanding features that would drain the battery quickly. Overall, the phone seems well-suited for those who want a reliable Windows Phone experience, but it may struggle with users from other operating systems.

In conclusion, the Nokia Lumia 925 is a solid device that excels in certain areas, such as camera performance and battery life. However, its lack of popular apps makes it difficult to recommend for users from other operating systems. It's clear that Nokia needs to work harder to get more apps on their platform, or risk being left behind by Android and iOS devices.

an interesting experience there's some good to share and some bad so do hit that Thumbs Up Button let's get straight to the review initially looking at the size design and build of the phone it's got very good build quality does feel very premium and I really do like the look of the phone comparing to something like the S4 similar width but it is slightly shorter and 139 G so not bad at all one of these slight issues that I had was the fact that the camera lens does come out a little bit and it's also towards the middle so when holding the device it did sort of coming my way and it was a little bit uncomfortable to hold I would have liked the camera to be a bit higher like it is with lots of other devices now the screen is a 4.5 in AMOLED screen with clear black technology 720p resolution 768 by 1280 334 PPI pixel density not quite up there with the 1080p Android smartphones which have crazy ppis but not bad though unless you're going pixel hunting it's not something that you'll notice right away so a pretty decent screen performance you've got a Snapdragon S4 dual core 1.5 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM 16 and 32 GB versions with no expandable storage and again although it might not seem right up there the windows interface is very simple and doesn't seem to to requir that much processing power so personally I didn't have any problems with performance and it did seem to perform pretty well now the camera something Nokia have been boasting about I have done a camera comparison of this with the Samsung Galaxy S4 so do check it out a link will be in the description
