The New Apple Watch Series 5: A Comprehensive Review
One thing that is notable about the new watch series 5 is the increased internal storage, going from 16 gigs to 32 gigs. This is likely due to the ability to download standalone watch apps from the App Store for your Apple watch, which was introduced in the new watch OS 6 update. While this may seem like a minor change, it's still something that should have been noted on the box.
Another internal change comes with the new S5 chip, which will help increase the watch's efficiency and drive some of its most significant features. Most importantly, however, is the always-on display, which allows users to quickly glance at their watch without having to dramatically lift their wrist or bring it up to their face. This feature has been a long time coming, and for many users, it's been a game-changer. No longer do you have to worry about notifications draining your battery life, as the watch's display is always on. This means that you can quickly check the time, date, or any complications without drawing too much attention to yourself.
Apple promises that this feature will not take a significant hit to your battery life, and so far, I haven't noticed any issues with my own watch running out of battery at the end of the day. However, other users have reported noticing a significant drain in battery compared to their previous models. Despite this, for many users, the ability to quickly glance at their watch without having to raise their wrist is well worth the upgrade.
In addition to these features, the Apple watch series 5 also includes some new and useful apps that were not available on earlier models. These include a compass application, which may be useful for hikers or outdoor enthusiasts, but will likely go unused by most users. There is also support for international emergency calling, which can be a lifesaver in an emergency situation.
The Apple watch series 5 also comes with the new watch OS 6 update pre-installed, which includes some exciting new features and apps. These include a new audiobooks calculator and voice memo app, as well as some new watch faces and health features like cycle tracking and noise monitoring. The latter feature helps to prevent damage to your hearing by alerting you when you are exposed to loud noises.
In terms of the new Apple watch series 5, it's worth noting that while there aren't many new features compared to earlier models, there is one significant upgrade: the always-on display. If you're coming from a series 3 or older, I would recommend upgrading to the series 5 simply because of this feature.

already seen our video on those two phones you can do so by clicking the card in the upper right corner but in this video we're going to check out what's new with the Apple watch series 5 before we get started be sure to subscribe and hit the bell to get notifications whenever we share a video the first thing you'll notice that's new with the Apple watch series 5 is that there are now two new options available at purchase there's the new titanium option as well as the reintroduction of the ceramic Apple watch edition the titanium models start at $7.99 which isn't terrible considering it's lighter and more durable than the stainless steel options and only $100 more but if you're looking for the flashy white ceramic you will need to spend a lot more as those start at $12.99 we opted to go for the standard aluminum model and since this is everything that's new with the Apple watch series 5 will spare you from the same unboxing experience however one thing that should have been listed on the box is the fact that these new watches now come with double the internal storage going from 16 gigs to 32 this is most likely due to the ability to download standalone watch apps from the App Store for your Apple watch that was introduced in the new watch OS 6 update but it's still something that should have been noted other new internal changes come with the new s5 chip which will help increase the watch's efficiency but most importantly help drive the new and probably the biggest feature of series 5 the always-on display in order to look at the time or any information from your Apple watch you no longer have to do a dramatic lift of your wrist and bring it up to your face in order to activate the display your watch's display is always on there's honestly been countless times where a notification would come through and when I go to raise my wrist up to my face the watch doesn't actually turn on and I'm stuck having to do an extra tap and then it becomes kind of obvious that I'm using my watch when maybe I just wanted to do a sort of incognito look it started happen quite a bit over the last few months for me and was getting kind of annoying over last few days with the series 5 being able to kind of check the watch and see the time or if a notification comes through and then kind of decide whether I want to further act on it without having to actually raise my wrist up to my face has been kind of game-changing for those worried about this taking a hit to your battery life Apple promises the same 18 hour battery that were used to getting and so far I personally haven't run into any issues where my watch was running out of battery at the end of the day but other users have reported that they've noticed quite a significant drain in battery compared to the other models with the series 5 as I said before though I'm definitely loving the ability to quickly glance at my watch and check the time or date or any complications without drawing too much attention to myself so for that this feature alone might be worth the upgrade but I can understand for most of you if it's kind of a hard sell unfortunately there just aren't a lot of new features that screen must upgrade especially if you're coming from a series for Apple did add a new compass application which if you're someone who needs a compass for hiking or anything like that then it might be something you'll use often but for the rest of us this only improves the maps experience as the Apple watch now knows which direction you're facing in so the icon in the Maps app will actually be facing the correct direction so that's really the only difference that the compass would add for most standard users there's also support for international emergency calling which is a nice feature to have but it's something that hopefully you'll never have to really use and finally the Apple watch Series 5 comes with the new watch OS 6 update pre-installed and while this isn't limited to just a series 5 there are new apps and features that you might want to check out like the new audiobooks calculator and voice memo apps as well as some new watch faces and even new health features like cycle tracking and noise monitoring which helps make sure you're not exposed to noise and sound over time that can end up damaging your hearing other than that that's pretty much it the Apple watch series 5 is a relatively small update but if you're coming from a series 3 or older I'd recommend going with the 5 over the 4 simply because of the always-on display it's a feature that people have wanted for quite some time now and it's finally available so let me know your thoughts on the new series 5 in the comment section down below and if you picked one up let us know which
