### Can You Use an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner on Samsung Galaxy S10/S10+ with a Glass Screen Protector? – Full Review
#### Introduction
Hello, everyone! It's Saf from SuperSaf TV. Today, I want to tackle one of the most frequently asked questions regarding the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus: Can you use the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner with a glass screen protector? This has been a hot topic since I got my hands on the S10 Plus, so let's dive in and find out!
#### Background
Recently, Marquez conducted an experiment where he tested both a regular screen protector and a glass one. The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner worked perfectly with the regular protector but didn't function as expected with the glass version. However, Whitestone Dome Glass reached out claiming they have a glass screen protector that maintains compatibility with the S10's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This video isn’t sponsored; I received these screen protectors for testing purposes.
#### Product Overview
Inside the box, you’ll find everything you need for installation:
- A sturdy tray to hold your phone during application.
- The screen protector itself.
- Tubes containing adhesive for a secure fit.
- An instruction manual for guidance.
- Alcohol swabs and a cleaning cloth to ensure a clean surface.
- Dust remover stickers to eliminate any particles that might interfere with the application.
- A UV light tool, which helps in curing the adhesive properly. I used a power bank to charge it.
#### Installation Process
The installation process took some time. Initially, my first attempt wasn’t successful, but after reapplying the protector carefully, it worked flawlessly. It’s important to follow the instructions meticulously to avoid any issues.
#### Testing Results
After installing the screen protector, I tested the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. From the lock screen and even with the display off, the scanner functioned perfectly. This was a relief, considering Whitestone Dome Glass’s claims.
#### Coverage and Quality
The screen protector offers excellent coverage without any noticeable air bubbles. However, I did spot some dust particles towards the edges, which is common with most protectors. The clarity and coverage are top-notch, providing both protection and visibility.
#### Tips for Optimal Use
If you encounter issues with the fingerprint scanner not recognizing your finger, try registering the same fingerprint multiple times. This can enhance recognition accuracy. I registered mine twice, and it made a significant difference.
#### Removal Experience
One downside was removing the screen protector. It wasn’t an easy task. Even when following the instructions precisely, parts of the adhesive remained stuck. Be prepared for some effort here.
#### Conclusion
Overall, the Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector is impressive. It offers great protection and maintains compatibility with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. While it’s more expensive than standard protectors due to its features, it’s worth considering if you want both style and functionality.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- What's up guys,Saf here on SuperSaf TV,and can you use theultrasonic fingerprint scanneron the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus,if you have a glass screen protector? That's probably been themost asked question thatI've had since I've got the S10 Plus, and that's what we'regoing to be trying toanswer in this video. Now, Marquez has done a video recentlywhere he tested a regular screen protectorand the ultrasonicfingerprint scanner worked, and then he tested aglass screen protector, and it didn't work, however this company Whitestone Dome Glasshave been in touch, and they said that they've got aglass screen protector that will let theultrasonic fingerprint scanner on theS10s work with it.Now, this video is notsponsored in any way. They've just sent me a fewof these screen protectors,so I was like, hey, let's test this out. This is not going to be a demonstration ofexactly how to install these, there's lots of other videos that do that.I'm going to be installingit on my S10 Plus, and then we're going to go aheadand try out this fingerprint scanner. So, first up, we're just going to goahead test the ultrasonicfingerprint scanner onmy S10 Plus, and you guysmay already know thatit works really well. You just need to tap it, unlike pressingand holding like you have to do onoptical fingerprint scanners, and you can do this from the lock screen,or even when the screen is turned off,you can just press in this area here, and it'll unlock right away. So, that's without anything, now let's go ahead and install thescreen protector, and then we'll see ifit works with that. Now, in the top right hand cornerwe've got Patent Pending,we've got four fullultrasonic recognition, full clarity, full coverage, and full filling.Fulfilling, get it, get it, anyway, let's got ahead and seewhat's inside the box,and here is everything, you actually get quite a bit of stuff. You've got a tray where thephone's going to be sitting. You've obviously got the screen protector, there's these tubes with adhesive inside, there's the instruction manual, some alcohol swabs, which I won't be consuming, don't worry, it's justgoing to be to clean,we've got a cleaning cloth,we've got dust remover stickers, lots of stuff that comes in it,but the interesting thing here is thatwe've got this UV light thingy,I don't know what you call it,but this is basically going to shineUV light on the screen protector, which I assume is to justmake sure that curve goes in nicely, you do get a micro USB cable,so you are going to have toplug this in to some form of power,I'll just use a power bank,or something like that.(high pitch fast forwarding noise)- Two hours later- Right, so after my first installation,I did a test and it didn'tactually work to well, but I was like, okay, this can't be right,so I got rid of itand I had another one, which I applied, this time it does seem to be working. So, if you go in from the lock screen, seems to be fine, and from when the screen is off, as well.Seems to be working fine, now initially as I mentioned,it didn't work and I was like, this can't be right, they've made all these bold claims, and it's not working, but it seems like I probably didn'tapply it properly, which is why I didn't actuallydemonstrated applying it,because it's something thatI'm not clearly good at,but anyway, a few things to mention,in terms of the screen protector itself,it does give really good coverage, and I can't see any air bubbles,or anything like that. One thing that I did notice is,there is a little bit of dust thatdoes get trapped towards the sides,I think this is going to happen withpretty much all screen protectors, but generally speaking the coverage isdefinitely one of the best that I've seen.Another tip as well is,if you are going to be using thisscreen protector then maybe assign thesame fingerprint a few times just so thatit does a better job.So, I've actually assigned mine twice, and it seems to be working fine. Before, it was like kindof missing a few times, and the final thing to mention is thatremove this screenprotector, for me anyway, was not easy.I tried to remove it exactly how theinstructions told me to,so that was, you know, removing itfrom each of the corners, near a bin, and, you know, there was little piecesof glass everywhere, and there was a section in the middle, where I'm assuming the most of theadhesive was just would not come off,and I had to literally take offlittle pieces by pieces,so that's something that I didn't like, but apart from thereasons that I mentioned,it does seem like apretty good screen protector overall, and the fact that it does give youpretty decent coverage, and protection, but also that fact that itworks with the ultrasonicfingerprint scanner, and as far as I'm aware this is theonly one that does that.As mentioned, this videois not sponsored inany way by Whitestone Dome Glass.I had to even read the name, but if you want to pick some of these up,I'll be leaving links inthe description below.I'm not sure of the exact pricing, but I know that they will behigher compared togeneral screen protectorsbecause of these additionalfeatures that this offers. What do you guys think of theWhitestone Dome Glass screen protector?Definitely let me knowin the comments below.I hope you found this video useful. If you did,
