GDDR 6 means new GTX 1180 not too far? April fools round-up and AMD RX 580 X: TWTN

**The Great Battery Life Scandal: A Lawsuit Waiting to Happen**

Apple's recent update claiming a 15% improvement in battery life has been met with skepticism. In reality, the company simply slowed down their phones to achieve this feat. The consequences of this move have been severe, with 59 lawsuits filed against Apple over the past couple of days. This is not just a small issue; it's going to become one giant Uber lawsuit that will take over the world.

If I were in Apple's shoes, I'd be terrified of facing such a massive legal battle. Their team of lawyers might be top-notch, but the stakes are high. The outcome could be disastrous for Apple, and we can only imagine what might happen next.

**Disappointment from AMD: RX 580 X Coming Later This Year**

There was some disappointing news coming from AMD regarding their new graphics card, the RX 580 X. While it's not the first time an X has been added to a graphics card name (the x1 900 X DX still holds that title), what's underwhelming is that this is essentially just a refresh of the RX 580. The RX 580 itself was a refresh of the RX 480, making the RX 580 X a refresh of a refresh.

This means that the RX 580 X will be like a three-year-old graphics card at this point, which is somewhat disappointing considering its performance increase is only expected to be between five and six percent. It's hard to understand why AMD couldn't just keep producing RX v80s for miners to buy.

**Half-Life Remake: A New Engine but Still No Half-Life 3**

A school project called Lambda has been remade in the Unreal 4 engine, and it looks amazing. However, this shouldn't be confused with Project Mesa, which was when they remade half-life in a newer engine and made significant improvements. This one is on an even better engine, but still, we're no closer to getting Half-Life 3.

**The End of "This Week in Tech News"**

This marks the end of what's officially the last ever "This Week in Tech News" associated with the name "Hard On Hardware". I'm changing the name, and it's going to be exciting. I get to be the one who keeps you guessing about what's next.
