Atari 5200 My Collection Part One

**The Atari 5200 Super System: A Look Back**

I'm about to show you some 1982 technology and special effects because that was key so watch this. Oh wow! This thing is a monster, it's huge, it's bulky, it's heavy, its gross but this is what they thought was a good idea so here is your Atari 5200 super system, how about a monster system? This is crazy maybe I can do some more you know get rid of it special effects that was pretty heavy.

Why would they make a system so big so heavy well stupid things they put the joystick controller storage bin at the back of the stupid thing then justify the weight of it. Holy cow just a big mess I'm gonna do the games but not in any specific order and I'm gonna try and make this not too long per thing because I mean this video would just be way too long you guys will probably stop watching me so let me try and keep this as entertaining as possible.

**The Games**

Let's see the games, start off with Kangaroo. Maybe I should you over here Vanguard space dungeon that's gotta be scary not only are you in a dungeon which in space that's creepy. Galaxian again as you can see my all-time favorite Atari game Defender a little bit of I'm gonna say the fire looks a bit better or whatever game still looks the same.

Moon Patrol pretty much the same Pole Position sharper but pretty much the same bit better graphics of course but now I will give Pac-Man some credit. I think Pac-Man actually looks a bit more true to the arcade system which I guess gives that terminology Pac-man some credibility Countermeasure another discipline in my opinion good game but Missile Command.

Now for all you sports fans out there Real Sports Tennis this is where I you see a bit of graphics difference the men still look a little better than the car you buy by Longshots 2600 of course Soccer soccer again looks a little more detailed than the 2600 another great port in my opinion for this system is Miss Pac-Man.

I think miss pac-man does look really really well in the system pretty much the arcade Real Sports Baseball this actually looks pretty good too I'm gonna say that again another game that actually did a little bit more justice on the system Joust a bit disappointing remember when I said you'll see graphic things in the background a little bit better but the men or the figures that are being used look the same Star Raiders pretty much the same game again sound quality is definitely the difference in my opinion of this.

**The Last Games**

Here's where that I don't know what the heck happened Real Sports Football but all the other real sports games had this like cool difference to them and this is totally 2600 Jungle Hunt I'm actually a prequel game for Card but I looking a whole lot different Super Breakout oh there we go the packing game that looks pretty much like the 2600 make no wonder ColecoVision killed this system.

One of the coolest games on this system Robotron 2084 this is part one and it was pretty much the games that were at our official cartridge like they they had well this this this Atari official look the only one that I didn't include in this I think was Super Mario Brothers and there's a reason but yeah they had the Atari fishel look.

It was licensed under I'm not saying Atari made all these games they were a license officially licensed and were for Atari to use or remake or a redesign or whatever had happened to make this super system monster system what it was so thank you guys for bearing with me on this this was part one of the whole life series of two so there's only another episode but trust me the second episode it's gonna be way better and you're gonna see something completely different which you'll see what I'm talking about til next part to the last game hunter please like subscribe and share sharing is caring game over.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell I'm back the last game hunter today we're going back in time we're going back to a time when 5200 thought it would reign supreme so why am I wearing this Atari shirt because we're going back to 1982 and we're gonna talk about the Atari 5200 super system let's see yeah arcade players get ready the new Atari 5200 super system is here with a controller so advanced it pays arcade graphics so real it looks arcade without any hits you can play on any other system no other frame video system can touch it the new Atari 5200 super system it's as good as you are maybe even better next time so what is the Atari 5200 well it's at re second generation system that came out in 1982 and died in 1984 kinda short-lived so yeah what happened well it came out to compete with the Intellivision and ended up being more competition or trying to compete with the ColecoVision I guess at that point in time in television was the thing to compete with they did not realize how much of a rival ColecoVision was gonna be and yeah well as we can see in some of the footage were about to see also the stuff did not look a lot better than the 2600 it was in my opinion like disappointing so in part 1 I'm gonna show the Atari games and in part 2 we'll be like the Parker Brothers the Activision's and so on and why I think I had to make a will part 1 in part 2 one too many games - there's a difference between the manufacturers so let's see system sold about 1 million units during its two-year run not terrible not great they were using the same hardware as their 8-bit computers but made a mistake in the software was not the same so yeah codenamed assistant pam-pam personal arcade machine so are tarif 5200 AKA pan i have 43 of the 69 games anybody want to correct me from everything i left up and the game list i counted 69 the system also had another problem with that was it was only released in north america so it had no real you know worldwide fame it was it was really narrowed down to North America and the Canada and the US that was it that probably did not help things at all by also stupid stuff like the packin game was I think breakout that didn't show off anything about the system it didn't do anything for the system and then he had colecovision stacking game was Donkey Kong which was true to the you know arcade now going through the videos I had to go search them I didn't have my system hooked up I do notice that the audio in my opinion was probably a little bit better than the Atari 2600 graphics were kind of they did certain games did a as you'll see some games had like the backgrounds were a little better or cleaner but the the men were the same or the figures or the ship or whatever just weird so what did this thing look like what kind of a monster system could they put out well I'm about to show you some 1982 technology and special effects because that was key so watch this any time now oh wow this thing is a here's where that I don't know what the heck happened real sports football but all the other real sports games had this like cool difference to them and this is totally 2600 jungle hunt I'm actually a
