FORD GT _ REVIEW on AUTOBAHN [NO SPEED LIMIT] by AutoTopNL

The Fast and Furious World of the Ford GT

As I step into the cockpit of the Ford GT, I'm immediately struck by its sleek and aerodynamic design. The car's fast pace is matched only by its agility, with its pneumatic system allowing it to rapidly adjust to different driving modes - a feature that I can attest to as I quickly switch between "sport" and "manual" modes.

One of the standout features of this car is its incredibly responsive gearbox, which provides lightning-fast upshifts and downshifts. However, there are moments where the lag is noticeable, particularly in the kick-down from first gear. In comparison to other high-performance vehicles like the Porsche PDK or McLaren's shift unit, the Ford GT's gearbox feels slightly less refined.

As I settle into the driver's seat, I'm immediately enveloped by a sense of comfort and relaxation - a feature that belies the car's extreme performance capabilities. The double wishbone suspension is a marvel of engineering, providing a smooth ride that's both engaging and comforting. The engine, with its 7-liter V6 configuration, produces an incredible 650 horsepower - although I've heard rumors that a later model will push this number up to 670 horsepower.

My journey takes me on a scenic route through the countryside, where I get to take full advantage of the car's performance capabilities. The exhaust system, designed by Akrapovic, delivers a distinctive and thrilling sound that perfectly complements the car's aggressive demeanor. As I accelerate from 0-60mph, the Ford GT proves itself to be a formidable performer - but with a twist: its acceleration is slower than some of its competitors.

The lack of outright performance in the Ford GT has led to some criticism from enthusiasts and reviewers alike. However, as someone who's spent an entire day behind the wheel of this car, I can confidently say that it delivers on its promise of raw, unfiltered power. The 4GT model's sound profile is unlike anything else out there - a true marvel of engineering that's sure to turn heads wherever you go.

One of the most fascinating aspects of driving the Ford GT is the way it responds to different inputs. The car's advanced technology features, such as its traction control system and stability settings, work seamlessly together to provide a driving experience that's both engaging and controlled. As I push the car to its limits on the autobahn, I'm impressed by its ability to adapt and respond - although there are moments where it lags behind other high-performance vehicles.

In terms of value, the Ford GT has proven to be an expensive proposition - with some highly-specified models selling for upwards of $1.1 million. However, I'd argue that the car's unique combination of performance capabilities, handling, and features makes it a true supercar in its own right. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just looking for a thrilling driving experience, the Ford GT is an exceptional choice.

As I bring the car to a stop at the end of my journey, I'm left with a lasting impression - one that's equal parts exhilaration and satisfaction. The Ford GT may not be the fastest car out there, but it delivers in its own unique way, providing a driving experience that's both raw and refined. And if you're lucky enough to get your hands on one of these highly sought-after supercars, I say take full advantage of its capabilities - and enjoy every moment of the ride.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this pov review by audit openel my name is martin and today i'm taking a look at the ford gt i never thought this day would come but i'm so happy right now a week ago ford sent us an email asking us whether we would like to drive a ford gt and we thought okay on which test track or no just take it to the autobahn woohoo that was my happy day couldn't sleep for a week because i absolutely adore the ford gt and the gt40 it's derived from so the ford gt40 in short it's the ferrari killer from le mans the ford gt40 was the car that embarrassed ferrari because it completely dominated the le mans 24-hour race this gen of ford gt has also won le mans by the way really cool that they delivered on their pedigree now the race car has been built as a road car or maybe it's better to say that the road car has been built as a race car this is basically a race car with road demands like brake lights and fog lights stuff like that other than that it's completely identical which is really really cool and you really feel it when you drive it and especially when you configure it okay so the gt it's absolutely beautiful let's walk around it before i tell you all about it it's very recognizable for gt but it's now been built as like a hyper car i'd say the older gt models were really classic iconic gt40 this is like the love baby of a koenigsegg and the classic gt40 it's absolutely absolutely gorgeous okay so let's start at the front this is a carbon mono cork so everything is carbon fiber as you can see right here we have a special gt light unit which is beautiful with the daytime running lights absolutely gorgeous with the same shape like the gt40 now we have a lot of carbon fiber on this car which is super super expensive sebastian who i have to thank on my knees that we can do this from fort the netherlands he told me that a ford gt can cost 650 000 euros or 800 000 euros so you can get 150k euros in options which you kind of get when you see what you get for 150k because you get these carbon fiber wheels oh my god that is so cool i remember the first time i've i saw a carbon fiber wheel and it was on a 488 pista pilota in italy and i was absolutely in love it just looks awesome super super lightweight even the bolts used to mount the wheel are made from titanium the brakes are carbon as well and these are six piston brembo brakes and we have michelin pilot sport cup 2 tires this is the go-to tire for this type of vehicle it's really really cool now just have a look at this mirror a very very thin carbon fiber leg holds this beautiful aerodynamically efficient mirror i think it's a piece of art and it looks like it's from a pagani which is always a compliment then there's the iconic air wing i'm going to call it for this gen of 4 gt there's an intercooler right here there's one on the other side as well and it sucks in there right here cools it down and then sends it to the engine through this wing yes that's how insanely engineered this car is it goes right there and then into the engine absolutely gorgeous lift it up all carbon fiber really really cool sparco carbon fiber seats non-adjustable and that is because the length of the cabin was sort of determined by the design of the car it's a v-shaped car let me show you it's this tear-drop shaped car it's like a v so it gets narrower and narrower and narrower so longitudinal things like that should be as short as possible and that's why the cabin doesn't have adjustable seats the pedals are adjustable the steering column is adjustable but the seats aren't to keep it short crazy engineering right what also helped the shortness of this car is the engine which i'm going to show you right now where is the button the button the button the button where is benjamin i think it's this one yes sir so this is the 3.5 liter v6 ecoboost engine and as you can see it's super super short it looks like a four-cylinder if you ask me many many people said wow this car really should have had a v8 and at first i agreed but when you drive this thing it's unlike any v6 i've ever driven it's super super aggressive and very very racy and another reason i think they chose for the 3.5 liter v6 ecoboost engine 650 horses by the way that's closed it's because it's the ultimate marketing tool for this engine i mean this engine sits in a lot of ford vehicles and many people were not too happy with this engine when it came out because it very often replaced the v8 and with the ford gt this engine now has a racing pedigree and it's got some street cred so we have the optional akrapovic exhaust titanium exhaust sounds really really good a very very racy sound this car is often criticized for its sound but you know i think it sounds absolutely amazing but maybe that's because we have the aircraft of its unit what's also really cool is that the intercoolers they have to blow off their hot air and they do it through the brake light units how cool is that what what i just love how low this car actually is and it's not even in the lowest setting far from it in track mode this thing will drop five centimeters that's 50 millimeters i mean with other supercars we can lower it by three or five or maybe 10 millimeters but never 50. absolutely cool and it's kind of what this car is famous for so we also have a carbon fiber rear diffuser i mean arrow is the main story with this car and suspension setup i think this is the ultimate like dynamics car the drivetrain is i think like the fourth fifth most important part of the car which is pretty weird for a supercar which normally has a very charismatic engine that like makes the car another cool thing i wanted to show you guys is how it looks with both doors up which is awesome and american pride there is a serial number even though these are not limited production cars so the h stands for 2017 and 986 stands for it was number 986 of that year now there's also an american flag right there but the ford gt is built in ontario canada by a company that builds this car for ford called multimatic and they also have built some aston martin and stuff like that and you can really feel that they are really really experienced in building like race cars and super high-tech street cars okay let's close this up yeah it's a bit squeaky but this is the uk press car thanks for uk for letting us drive it and it's done 20k kilometers and mainly on track stuff like that so it's had a hard life there are a few squeaks in this car but all in all it feels very very well put together i have to say let's head over to the autobahn i like that you hear everything in this car so if the radiator is doing something you hear it if the intercooler is doing something you hear it you heal little clicks little hisses i absolutely love that okay track mode it's the most important part of the car i think um you have to put it in park go to t for track mode and then press ok and this happens wow oh my god the rear spoiler shoots up which can also be used as an air brake so it really aggressively lifts and adjusts its angle to like brake hard like with the bugatti veyron when you go straight it drops a bit on the autobahn it doesn't want to produce any drag so it's very very clever stuff and it's everything that this car does it does it with a bang it's you know it's not a sweetheart it's just race and in race everything has to go fast not supple so everything is pneumatic so it's like we have air jacks when we go in and out of race mode let's go out of it oh bam it it only takes like 0.2 of a second to do it the nose left bam bam that's freaking amazing i mean with a lamborghini for instance it takes like it takes like 10 seconds for it to raise its nose okay i'm going to use sport mode for the rest of the journey and i'm going into manual mode for the gearbox let's go so it's quite hot out today something like 26 27 degrees celsius so thank god we have those two huge intercoolers on both sides man i like that sound it's so raw let me close this up now i have read a lot of reviews with the 4gt i've watched all the videos and i don't agree with any of them i read that the red line is at 7000 rpm but the power peaks at like five and a half and after that kind of dips where is that dip what are you talking about there is no dip then the sound i know it has an akrapovic exhaust but it's just the way it sounds they have built this car and it the end result is that it produces a sound which i absolutely love because it's really a very unfiltered sound even though it's just a v6 remember to jaguar xj220 that's a hyper car with a v6 and no one was complaining about that i mean you be the judge come on now tell me that's a bad sound it's awesome you just point where you want to go left foot on the brake build up the revs there you go and ford claims that that's zero to sixty in like three seconds but i did a zero to sixty mile an hour test and i did three point five six so it is a bit slower than claim by ford i've tried every setting sport mode track mode traction off traction control on zero to 100 by the way was 3.8 which is a bit disappointing i really expected it to be faster in a straight line okay let's go left turn on my speedo cam that's miles an hour i've turned off the ac by the way so i'm really all in for this autobahn run now values of this vehicle this ford gt have gone up bizarrely they are like 600k but they are now sold for like 900k to 1.1 for the highly spec special versions 1.1 million that is so i said to ford let me do the ultrabomb bit and i'll keep it at like 250 kilometers an hour and they agreed so we're really happy we can offer you this footage okay here we go now the gearbox is okay on the up shifts really really fast really responsive downshifts at times a bit laggy the kick down also a bit laggy not as nice and crisp as for instance the porsche pdk unit or the mclaren unit now this car really really reminds me of a mclaren lt it has the same like razor eye feeling the double wishbones the comfort yes this is a comfortable car the suspension is like a piece of magic now the engine really really aggressive you feel really feel that it's a turbo engine so unlike the mclaren engine that really is a high revving engine and it doesn't feel boosty this is really a boosty engine but i like it because it's a race boosting let me turn it back into manual mode and show you the torque of this seven speed 650 horsepower vehicle by the way if you get one in 2021 or 2022 because you still can if ford selects you you get 670 horsepower so that's really really good fifth gear here we go man that's strong that is so strong wow there goes the wing wow wow wow now the gearbox is really really on it but it's not all of the time unfortunately now 100 to 200 this card is 6.08 which is very fast but not as fast as it should be it should be below six if you ask me having driven this car for the entire day this is i think my favorite road super hyper car i've ever driven it really really is it just feels super super special and it's a lot more expensive than your mclaren lt or a ferrari but it really delivers on its price tag it's just that the straight line performance it's not really there maybe with the extra 20 horses of the 2022 model but it's just a small small factor because this is it the most racy car you can get and drive on the road hope you enjoyed this video thanks again to for the netherlands and forge uk for letting me do this and i hope to see you at the next one bye guyswhat's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this pov review by audit openel my name is martin and today i'm taking a look at the ford gt i never
