**Exploring the MGCOOL Explorer Pro 4K Action Camera**
As someone who's been in the market for an affordable 4K action camera, I was excited to get my hands on the MGCOOL Explorer Pro. While it wasn't entirely impressive, I'll give you a detailed rundown of its features and performance.
**First Impressions**
A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed the MGCOOL Explorer 1s, which is essentially the same camera, but with some differences. The Explorer Pro has made its way into my life, courtesy of MGCOOL, and I'm excited to share my first impressions with you. Upon unboxing, I was impressed by the array of accessories that came along with it. We have mounts, a USB cable, and a spare battery, which is already installed in this particular unit.
The camera's design is quite small, making it easy to carry around, as evident from the photo. It's almost the size of my palm, and I'm not complaining about that. The accessories included are quite generous, with the exception of an SD card slot. I think it would have been nice if they had included a spare battery instead.
**Battery Installation Process**
One feature that caught my attention was the battery installation process. There's already a battery installed by default, which is 1050 milliamp hours. To install the other battery, simply slide it in, and voilà! You're good to go. I'm impressed by this design choice, as it shows that MGCOOL has thought about the convenience of its customers.
**Test Shots**
Now that we've covered some basics, let's take a look at how the camera performs in real-world scenarios. I recorded a test clip using the Explorer Pro, which is set to 4K at 30 frames per second. I'm curious to see how it turns out. The video quality is... decent, but not entirely impressive. The exposure adjustment on the screen looks quite good, with nice blues and neutral values.
**Audio Quality**
One aspect that's crucial when it comes to action cameras is audio quality. Unfortunately, this camera doesn't exactly excel in this department. There's some background noise, and I can hear the wind outside making it difficult to focus on the sound. However, as a bonus test, the Explorer Pro does its best to compensate for the windy conditions.
**Stability**
Despite my initial skepticism about this camera, I was pleasantly surprised by its stabilization features. The video is relatively smooth, even when panning around or walking in place. It's clear that MGCOOL has put some thought into making this camera stable and enjoyable to use.
**Conclusion: Is the MGCOOL Explorer Pro Worth $60?**
So, is this 4K action camera worth $60? That's a tough question to answer. While it doesn't blow me away in terms of performance or features, its price point is certainly attractive. If you're on a tight budget and just need something to get some basic action shots, this might be the camera for you.
However, if you're looking for something with better quality or more advanced features, I'd recommend exploring other options. The audio quality could be improved, and while the stabilization is decent, it's not exactly top-notch. Nevertheless, I'll continue to use this camera in future videos, thanks to MGCOOL for making it possible.
As always, I appreciate your support and feedback. If you have any thoughts on the MGCOOL Explorer Pro or action cameras in general, please share them with me in the comments below.

we have micro usb uh maybe micro hdmi out i'm not entirely sure i have to look into that micro sd card slot i don't think you get a micro sd card so that's definitely something you will have to keep in mind and honestly i think i would have rather they include an sd card and not a spare battery but that's just me but come on i mean we have a ton of sd cards just lying around our houses nowadays don't we so perhaps it's not a big deal and on the side here we have some controls on board speaker very nice and up here obviously the shutter button to record video and take pictures all right let's take this thing for a test spin and see how it performs okay this is my first official clip recorded using the explorer pro by mgcool now this is in 4k 30 frames per second so i'm not really sure how it's going to look so you guys can be the judge let me know how does this look and kind of more importantly how does it sound because you can't forget i mean video quality is very important but when you're watching a video and you're hearing poor audio you gotta wonder is it really worth it so let me know i'm curious and let's get a little test shot over here i'm currently on my deck look back here in the patio panning up to the sky for some exposure adjustment the blues on the screen actually look quite good but of course i won't be able to tell until i actually drop this into final cut pro 10. there's some nice reds some neutral values there's my cat maui hey mally let's go down here walk around also let me know is the video somewhat stable because despite my kind of negative reaction to the explorer 1s i will say the stabilization was actually pretty damn good all right let's go to the gate here and starting now you guys can enjoy a montage do so you guys tell me is this 4k action camera worth 60 dollars and actually right now is a great audio test because it's quite windy outside so let me know your thoughts is it worth 60 dollars and be honest in the comments right
