fall week in my life!!! 🎧🎃🍵🍂 (concerts, fall activities, reading updates + more!)
### A Day in the Life: Thoughts, Reflections, and Plans
#### Morning Routine and Gym Trip
This morning started with a trip to the gym. Despite feeling tired from lack of sleep, I decided to push through and hit the gym. The night before, I had been awake until late, watching episodes of *Gilmore Girls*. It’s always interesting how certain shows can keep you hooked, even after all these years. After the gym, I went home to wash my hair because it was one of those days where you just know your hair needs a good washing. There’s something about that feeling—knowing your hair needs attention—that makes you want to tackle it head-on.
#### Sleepy Hollow Trip Postponed
Originally, I had planned for Chris and me to go on a little day trip to Sleepy Hollow, New York. We were looking forward to exploring the town, which is famous for its ties to the legend of the Headless Horseman. It’s always exciting to plan these trips, especially during fall when everything looks so cozy and picturesque. However, Chris woke up feeling unwell this morning, so we had to postpone our plans. While I was initially disappointed, I understand that his health comes first. Plus, there are still other opportunities to visit Sleepy Hollow later.
#### The Struggle with Reading Slumps
I’ve been trying to get into reading again lately, but it’s been a bit of a struggle. I started *Lovely War* by Sarai Gonzalez on my Kindle, borrowed from the library, and managed to get through about 50 pages so far. It’s a mix of mythology and romance, and while I’m enjoying it, I can’t help but feel like I’m in a bit of a reading slump. I find myself struggling to stay engaged with books lately, which is frustrating because I used to love getting lost in stories. Maybe it’s just a phase, or maybe it’s something else—I’m not sure.
#### Reflections on *The Zodiac Academy*
In addition to *Lovely War*, I’ve also been listening to the second book in the *Zodiac Academy* series on audiobook during my daily commute and while doing chores around the house. The story is intense, with a lot of twists and turns that keep me hooked. However, it’s not without its flaws. There are moments where the plot feels convoluted, and I find myself zoning out for a second or two. But then something happens—a scene so jarring, so unexpected—that brings me back to the story. It’s like trying to describe it would ruin the surprise, but suffice it to say, *Zodiac Academy* knows how to keep its listeners hooked.
#### The Emotional Impact of Loss
Yesterday, I received some shocking news that left me feeling emotional for most of the day. Liam Payne, a member of One Direction, passed away. For those who don’t know, One Direction was a huge part of my childhood and teenage years. I met some of my best friends through our shared love of the band, and we still go to concerts together to this day. Hearing about Liam’s passing felt like a punch in the gut. It’s surreal to think that someone so young could pass away, especially when you’re used to thinking of them as part of your own youth.
#### Fashion Haul and Outfit Plans
Speaking of emotions, I’ve been trying to channel mine into other creative outlets—like fashion. Over the past few weeks, I’ve accumulated quite the haul of new clothing items. From a cozy oversized hoodie with a camo print (a personal favorite) to a plaid skirt from Hollister, I’m excited about how versatile these pieces are for fall styling. My go-to outfit lately has been my new gray hoodie paired with black leggings and sneakers—it’s comfortable yet stylish, perfect for running errands or spending a cozy day at home.
#### Book Club Updates and Editing Plans
As someone who loves books and reading, I’m also excited about our upcoming book club meeting. We’re currently voting on the next book we’ll read as a group—November is just around the corner! I’ve been trying to wrap up my editing for the latest reading Vlog, which should be ready for the Patreon soon. It’s always bittersweet seeing my content come together and then hitting that publish button, but knowing that others enjoy it makes it all worth it.
#### Eye Doctor Appointment and Fall Plans
Later today, I have an eye doctor appointment scheduled. It’s something I’ve been putting off for far too long—ever since I started noticing how difficult it is to see clearly at night while driving. The appointment will include a standard exam, but I’m also looking into getting blue light protection for my glasses, as I spend so much time in front of screens for work and pleasure. After that, Chris and I are planning to grab dinner at our favorite spot—pizza and a Yankees game on TV always hit the spot.
#### Final Thoughts
All in all, it’s been an eventful few days filled with both highs and lows. From emotional reflections on loss to excitement about new books and fashion finds, there’s never a dull moment. I’m looking forward to tackling my reading slump head-on, continuing my podcast editing, and planning fun fall activities with Chris. Life may not always go as planned—like our postponed Sleepy Hollow trip—but that’s part of what makes it so interesting.
